ROOMS ARE IN NEED OF UPDATING. SEEMED A LITTLE DRAB AND CARPET, MATTRESSES, ETC NEEDED REPLACEMENT. LOBBY, BREAKFAST, PARKING, AND LOCATION WERE VERY GOOD FOR OUR NEEDS ON THIS TRIP.

Hotel was acceptable but overpriced. Being on the second floor, the third floor guests above us woke us at 7:00 AM with nothing more than their footsteps. Sounded like they were a herd of elephants. All in all the location was OK, the room was OK but the price was too high. I'd have slept better at about $50 a night.... and with a pair of earplugs.

hadn't stayed in a Fairfield Inn before, won't be staying in one again. I didn't realize from the website (or the price I paid) that I'd be staying in an old-school highway motel that Marriott had bought out and slapped their name on.

Having stayed in other Fairfield Inn hotels, this was NOT what I was expecting. It is an older hotel with exterior doors to everyone room instead of an interior corridor. In my mind, this is at MOTEL, not a hotel. This was a last minute decision. The hotel was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful. We arrived without toiletries and were given toothbrushes and toothpaste, which we needed. For a one night stay, it was just fine.

The front desk was very friendly. Room had a nice-flat screen TV. Cable included all the news channels, CNN, Fox , and MSNBC. Would have to turn up sound when heat vent turned on and lower sound when heat vent turned off. ended up being in a room that was by the outdoor stairs on the 2nd floor. elevator never worked when we were trying to go down. The hotel is off the interstate but the sign is not illuminated. Went right past it! Grumpy help behind the counter. Hold smelling elevator, hallway and room. TINY bathroom. Toilet ran for 10 seconds every minute. Bed was uncomfortable. Not going to stay there again until they update.

Our stay was perfect. We were close to our friend's wedding and many other fun things like Battle Creek Zoo's Zoo Boo and the Kalamazoo Air Museum. Room was really nice. Bed was comfy, especially for a hotel bed. Exercise room was really nice and had up-to-date equipment.

I was very disappointed. This is an OLD, and tired motel. I totally dislike outside entrances!!! On a positive note, the location was great for what we were doing. HOWEVER, almost ANYWHERE in Kalamazoo or Portage or Oshtemo (where we ended up staying our last 2 nights) is less than 10 minutes from anything else. The staff was pleasant (though didn't look up and say hello every time we came in)- they even opened the pool early for us one morning!- […] and the room was clean and stuffed animals were cutely arranged after they tidied up. On the other hand, the beds were not comfortable, the outdoor pool was not heated (as advertised- THOUGH it had been pretty chilly during the days we stayed), the breakfast was not appetizing at all (except the mini Kellogg cereals!). We generally LOVE Marriott hotels but I have to say this was an exception. It does the trick, especially for the price, but if you have a few extra dollars, it's worth the money to try another spot. Hotel is not typical for a Fairfield Inn. Hotel like a remodeled Super 8 or something. Rooms small, beds not super comfortable, food great.

Second time to stay here.Took advantage of the 30% off for a 3 night stay again. Clean and quiet. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Toilet was quite noisy when flushed. Met our needs for a place to crash at night .Good breakfast choices. Enjoyed the pool on a previous visit.

very small room and smelled musty. Furniture seemed clean, but bathroom was pretty gross. Also, toilet was right up against the shower curtain. Very loud group checked in for the weekend, and because we were on first floor and the room doors open directly to the parking lot, it was VERY loud in our room.

Office staff was great and lobby breakfast area nice as was the sitting area. Breakfast was so so as is most frozen and reheat food. Rooms need updating badly though they were very clean considering the age and usage of things. Rooms are very small!

The rooms were neat and clean. The staff was helpful. And the breakfast was good. My daughter and I stayed there while she attended a camp, it was an excellent "home" base. Easy on and off the highway.

This was not at all what we expected from Marriott / Fairfield Inn. From the motel style outside entrances, to the small, cramped room - this was a huge disappointment. Felt like a cheap 4 hour motel.

Our friends had trouble with their a/c which on 103 F days can be an issue and the maintenance crew was not terribly responsive though it did get fixed the second day. We found the service to be good, employees to be friendly and the breakfast good. Our room was clean and comfortable.
