This hotel had very friendly helpful service. The room was very clean and tidy, but old fashion. We had appointments at the Mayo Clinic and it is right on the campus we had a block and a half to walk to the admin desk. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who has an appointment at Mayo. However, since the plumbing was old fashion there is no air conditioning, so the six weeks of summer that Minnesota gets might be uncomfortable, but otherwise great hotel for the price.

This hotel is definitly a 2 star hotel. Room was small and very outdated. Bathroom was adequately clean but again very outdated. All I needed was a bed to sleep in the night before a big interview so I didn't mind the dinginess but I would not recommend this place for any extended stay. The location is great b/c it's so near the Mayo Campus but I think there are better options on the edge of town.

This was by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. It was more like a low cost apartment, excluding the low cost. My room was a 10 x 10 studio with a 2 x 3 bathroom that smelled like my grandparents farmhouse. The price was reasonable for a Days Inn,just not standard to what Days Inn usually represents.

The Days Inn Rochester is an old hotel. The bathtubs need to be replaced, for one thing. One twin bed mattress was poor, but the other one was good. Since I was alone, that was fine. The location of the hotel, and the price of the room made it a very good choice for me, however, and the desk people were very nice. The room was clean.

We rented this hotel when we were going to a concert at the Civic Center in Rochester. We had to walk a few blocks in the rain to get to the venue, but for the low price of the hotel, it was worth it. The hotel building itself is old and the rooms are small, but it did just fine for what we needed it for- a place to sleep. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful- even giving us walking directions to the concert venue and cab numbers.

A family member was at the mayo clinic and the location was very good. The room and bathroom was very small, but just fine for what i needed. There was no air conditioning, but i was there in the winter, so air conditioning was not a problem. The bed was very comforatable. There was a resturant downstairs which was very convienent. The day i checked out I found my truck battery was dead (I left the dome light on!!). The front desk person radioed maintainence and they came down and had to push my truck out of my parking space. The front desk receptionist used her car and cables to jump my truck. They never once let me think I was a problem, or that they did not have time to take care of my problem. That alone was the icing on the cake.

Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Sep 9, 2008
It's a Days Inn, so I wasn't expecting anything very luxurious, especially as it looked as though it was an older hotel that had been bought by Days Inn. The bathroom had obviously been upgraded recently, so no problems there. However it sounded as though the walls were about to crash in when someone in another room flushed. The room overlooked the street and even though the traffic wasn't very heavy, it seemed very noisy. The air conditioner unit in the window demanded the window be open a certain amount and a very flimsy piece of plastic filled the gap either side, so it let it a lot of noise. However, the staff were super friendly and the hotel was in a great location for the Civic Center and surrounding hospitals. Plus, pets were allowed in room on the 5th floor.

The hotel's character is the best thing going for it. It has severe water damage showing through the ceiling in the entrance, the rooms are quite small, and the toilet is difficult to get to as well. The location to Mayo is convenient, but when I return to Mayo I am definitely not staying here again. No hot water during my stay, either.

I arrived at 2 am to dicover the door into the room was not wide enough to accomodate my wheelchair, so at 2:30 in the morning my wife and I are wandering around downtown Rochester MN trying to find another hotel. I specifically asked the person booking the room that it was handicapped accessible and was told yes. I realize they had no idea the door would not be wide enough but my wife also stated there was an eight inch step up into the bathroom! Very, very disappointed with this booking.

The hotel was scary. The rooms were clean and had nice furniture. I didn't like taking a bath and showing at the same time because of the plumbing. The sink need some plumbing correction. The front desk told my friend that the hotel remind her of the movie "The Shining" The staff was great, friendly and honest. This could be a very nice hotel if they took the time to do some deep renovation.
