Knew what to expect heading in (wasn't paying for the Ritz, obviously) and pretty much got it. Only problem was the rooms (non-smoking) smelled entirely like cigarettes.

The room wasnt clean, and we just didnt feel comfortable having to sleep in the bed. The air felt dusty, when inhaling. We are traveling for 3 weeks, different place every night, and we are paying the same rate everywhere. But this was the worst. I suggest call motel directly first and then call hotels.com and compare price first. It will be alright if they do not add extra charge later on, I found sometimes you get rooms cheaper from these booking companies and then later the motel will charge you the rest of what you supposedly saved. If they had half stars I'd give this 4-1/2. An older hotel, but recently updated with new beds and carpet. Very clean inside and out. Shower was clean, though showing some age. Room had a safe, but no fridge or microwave. Did have a coffee maker. Several restaurants close by.

Out of 7 rooms we had reserved, 1 was still dirty and one had no blankets or sheets on the bed. The night manager did make it right by giving us upgraded rooms (bigger bed, fridge, microwave). Good breakfast.

As a woman traveling alone with my dog, location is important. I felt safe walking me dog in surrounding neighborhood, and the hotel is convenient to all parts of Amarillo. Perhaps my dog had something to do with why I received a room in desperate need of remodeling. Some reviews mentioned new bedding, I unfortunately didn't get one. While still a good value, the service has dropped a notch. We stayed at this hotel many times in 2012 because of low-rates and a decent breakfast. However, much to our surprise, we discovered the quality of breakfast dropped significantly with the new year. The hotel no longer offers any sort of fruit (which saddens my wife and I) and they no longer […] offer donuts (which REALLY saddens our children). For the price, you can't beat this place. It's clean and friendly. Stayed at a Motel 6 on the way to our destination, and the Travelodge beat out the 6 by a long shot. I will definitely stay here again.

This is second time that we have stayed here in last two months. Good place to spend night and price is great. We have not had any problems at this hotel. Breakfast has more selections now and has improved since our last stay. Would recommend to other families needing a place to spend night.
