Reviewed by Jane of Tucson on Oct 23, 2009
Good day, On the 18th of October I booked an Executive Suite with a terrace for my husband's birthday. I was quite upset with the condition of the furniture in the room. I thought I had read that the rooms were just re-done, perhaps I am mistaken, but our sofa had faded out upholstery with paint on it. The rest of the furniture looked quite dated. The terrace in the photos was quite lovely with large potted plants. Ours was devoid of everything but a few chairs and tables. I am not sure what the "upgraded amenities" were supposed to be as the amenities we saw were standard amenities. There were no Spa robes and slippers in our room. Our air conditioner in the bedroom was so loud that we could not sleep, it was too hot to turn it off. Shortly after midnight we ended up leaving the hotel and going home so that we could sleep. I was hoping for a nice suite and a great experience for my husband on his birthday. Instead it was quite ordinary at best. It certainly was not worth the inflated price.

Would be nice even without the views of the mountains -- but it offers those as well, despite being on Broadway. Easy access to good restaurants, the national park, etc. Renovated rooms, airy atrium, etc., all for little more than a motel 6.

The hotel is amazing inside and out, easy access and great services coupled with comfortable rooms and amenities. For some the location is great, having all activities I was attending being on the other side of town made for long drives. I will be staying there again, with next time being sure to get access to the executive floors and to stay more then one night.

The maid service was terrible. We were there for a week and at times we did not receive wash clothes or have the trash emptied. The only service performed was the bed was made every day. In the entire stay we were unable to take a complete shower with warm water. Water pressure was terrible and then became luke warm. There was no regular coffee in the room and it wasn't until we were checking out that we discovered we could have had coffee gratis in the restaurant. (We went out each morning to get regular coffee.) I would not return to this Hilton or recommend it to anyone.

They charged my nine yr old 11 bucks for orange juice and coffee, even after he said we were coming to the buffett (45 dollars for three of us) Shameful!! A real disappointment. My girlfriend didnt like it at all. On a bright note-the beds were comfy. Wouldnt stay here for pleasure. Ever.

The rooms were very nice, comfortable and updated, extremely quiet also. The pool probably could've been cleaner but I never saw staff working the pool area. Sunday morning at 10am after a wedding the night before the pool area was still set up for the wedding -- no lounge chairs out, no towels. People were out there anyway but it was obvious to everyone that this was an oversight. The staff was did see in the hotel was very courteous and helpful. The coffee dispensers in the lobby were out both days I tried them. Overall the hotel was very nice but felt understaffed. Perhaps I expected that if a hotel looked this nice then it would offer more services. I would recommend it based on comfort and esthetics but it was a lot farther from the UA campus than the map made it seem but that was our fault for not checking actual distance.

Old dirty looking carpet in the hallways, dated furnishings in the entrance, wallpaper looked like it was from out of the past. The staff was excellent & proactive. I was pleasantly surprised on a few occassions by the nice responses of the staff. Example: I asked at the desk where the convenience store was and that I was looking for water. One of the other desk attendants said "did I hear someone mention they needed water?" as they handed me a cold bottle of water. Beautiful views of the mountains, too bad the hotel was so old looking.
