I had a great stay at this hotel. I was able to check in early and the person at the front desk was very friendly. Very easy to access I-10 from the hotel. The only two things I didn't like was the cable, it was fuzzy at times. The water in the shower kept going from cold to warm, warm to cold. The breakfast was good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Older property but terrible but not great"
Holiday Inn express are usually newer properties, this one however was not. Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is conveniently located in downtown El Paso and I-10 near quite a few restaurants. Cons: The bathroom area while clean smelled a little like raw sewage. Because of the age of the hotel the room was a little dated, carpet […] was dirty. Breakfast is available, but don't expect a great tasting one. However, its complimentary. Overall, not bad for the price, but I'd spend a little more and try another brand in El Paso. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I would have enjoyed my stay more if a stranger and then police officers had not knocked on my door in the middle of the night because they were provided the wrong room information.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice and clean the lady in charge of breakfast was terrific! The kids enjoyed the outside pool. My only complaint is the temp in the shower. it would go from hot to cold on its own.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"nice place to stay"
Everyone was very kind and helpful during our stay. I will recommend to other people.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel was fine. Internet was very slow. The staff tried to fix it but ultimately it was slow.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Came here with my partner for a weekend stay. Everything was pretty nice and nothing too fancy. We had a minor problem with the sink and they came and fixed it promptly. Any requests we had were met with friendly service. I liked the location of the hotel close to all the museums and close to the freeway (but it was not noisy at all!). The breakfast […] was very good. It had good variety and they were helpful in giving us trays and any accommodations so we could eat upstairs in our room instead of the dining area. The location attracted a few random people from the downtown area, but had no serious problems with anyone. Not bad! I would definitely stay here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Just an overnight stay"
There was construction at the hotel and on the street that the hotel is located on. The front door is under maintenance, we had to carry all of our bags around to the back of the hotel with two small children. After check in, which was quick, we get up to the room and our keys aren’t working….had to take them back down to be reprogrammed. After we finally […] make it into the room, it’s a little on the warm side. After fiddling with the A/C off and on most of the night, we just decided to cope with it. We were getting in pretty late after 11pm. We managed to make it through the night with the heat and headed to breakfast. Breakfast at the hotel ended up being pretty good but the staff serving/setting up the breakfast was on the rude side. All in all the stay was not all bad and I would stay here again, if I had to. The room was clean and I had no problem connecting to the wireless network. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The first night was horrible as I was lodged directly over the busy freeway. The next morning they switched my room immediately to the other side and it was wonderful. very helpful, friendly staff. i would stay here again.Genuine Expedia guest review
The staff at this hotel were awesome! Every employee was very welcoming, helpful and friendly . The shuttle service/ drivers were remarkable and the management went out of their way to extend shuttle service on the night of the 1 Direction concert. Service typically ends at 11 pm on this night the kept driving until all if the guests were picked up […] . They had to deal with local police stopping them from getting to the pick up point. They were fantastic. Chuy, Cruz and a young lady ( sorry we didn't get your name) you were fantastic! "Pobre desayuno y mal estacionamiento."
Desayuno muy! raquitico, presumen de que es desayuno buffette caliente y lo unico caliente es el huevo. EL estacionamiento muy saturado, casi tienes que dejar tu vehiculo en la calle.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Served its purpose"
Older hotel but breakfast (which was included in the rate) was surprisingly good. Adequate cost-benefit ratio. I'd stay here again.
Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great location for El Paso Marathon"
02/26/15 Seri B Tucson, Arizona
I stayed here because I was participating in the El Paso Half Marathon. Great location-Expo and Race start/finish were only about 6 blocks straight down Missouri St so never had to take my car out until I left El Paso. What impressed me the most was the customer service of the staff. Two examples: When I checked in, she told me breakfast started at 7:00 AM. I told her I would have to miss it because the race started at 7:00 AM. She volunteered "Would you like a pre-packaged breakfast?" I had never had anyone ask me that before! Second example: After I checked in and had been in my room about 10 minutes, I got a call from the front desk "How is your room?... and then they asked "Would you like a wakeup call?" I am a single woman and safety was never a question staying here - both in the hotel itself and around the area. (I walked around the downtown area during daylight hours.) Bottom line - great value. Next year's out of town El Paso Marathon participants-this is the place to stay!
"Not Quite Very Good but Better Than Average"

I stayed here a couple of nights and slept well. This is an older hotel and it shows, the elevator didn't work properly one day, but the maintenance crew repaired it when I notified the front desk. The location is great; you're near UTEP and the downtown area. There are places nearby to eat and drink. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room clean and comfortable and I had a decent view; I was on the top floor. Parking is free but you do have to register your car. If I come back to UTEP, I might or might not stay at this hotel.
"Hotel in Downtown Area"
02/08/15 Kimberly C Thurmont, Maryland, United States
This hotel was a nice older Holiday Inn. The El Paso area was not as I had remembered it from my last trip 20 years ago. We felt safe enough in the hotel but in general the area did not feel safe. They sent us to a restaurant that we never found in an area where I would never have sent a mother and teenage daughter alone to get dinner. Needless to say we had to get back on the freeway and find another restaurant where we had come through. The hotel was not bad but the area was a little run down. I would stay before you get into the downtown area as there are many more food options and the area seems to be safer.
"Good Value for Downtown!"
02/03/15 Robrite59 Mo
This is an older HIE but offers a good value with free breakfast and free parking even though downtown. WE stayed in room 700 on 1/30/15, It is a king suite, with a view of the front parking lot, nice to be able to look out and see our car. Room was a bit dated but clean and huge with a sofa, desk, table and chairs. Microwave and fridge. comfortable bed slept good, no noise. Water was not as hot as we would have liked, but never cold. Staff was friendly. Will stay here again.

I have recently got a room at this hotel and it was a well kept up hotel. Its a bit pricey but well worth it. the recent time I was here was for new years eve. have also been there for conference meetings and this place has the space. parking is tight but well worth it. can not wait for another holiday to stay around my hangouts close by.
"Central hotel, free parking and breakfast"

Good price on New Year's Eve for a downtown location close to the festivities. Typical Holiday Inn Express, pleasant staff, free breakfast, free parking, clean and pleasant, but not newly refurbished. Walking distance to restaurants and bars.
"Would Not Stay Again"

I feel I am always fair with my reviews be they good, bad, or indifferent. The company I work for always books my hotel, flights, rental cars and so forth so I may not always have much input into the reservations. On this trip there were 2 of us that our company made reservations for using the company card. Upon arrival the exterior looked older in appearance but we decided to stay since it was already booked. Check in went without any incidents for either of us and they had the company info so my business associate did not give his credit card but I did out of habit. The interior had an older appearance especially the hallways and elevator. Once interior the room, however, it was updated with newer king bed, flat screen, small fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Upon check out the front desk clerk, Connie, could not find the company credit card info even though my associate just checked out with the company card info without incident. She only took my email address and told me they would send me a credit if they could find the company card information even though my associate just checked out. They kept my charges on my personal credit card but not my associate's. We had difficulty communicating because she did not speak English well enough for clear understanding. Upon my next business trip or anyone else from our company will choose a newer hotel since the price is about the same. I did aboutppreciate the courtesy call to my room aboutppreciatefter check in though.
"One of the cleanest"
01/06/15 golem67 Santa Fe, New Mexico
The room was clean, the place was quiet. Not sure why our group chose this place, but it was fine for one night. A bar would have helped, and the breakfast area could have benefit from real oatmeal and not the prepackaged stuff.

I noticed some pretty terrible reviews, but went for it anyway, it turned out to be alright. I'll start with the good, the hotel has free parking and it feels safe enough to me. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They do have a courtesy shuttle, but i had no need as many restaurants, bars, and clubs within walking distance, and there were several gay bars and clubs were directly across the street. The bed was comfortable and the sheets (and other linen) were clean, and overall the room was clean. Now the bad, again this place is a bit dated, many things need updates. The carpet in the room was dingy (bring house shoos or flip flops), the alarm clock in the room didn't work, and the shower head was caked with lime buildup. Also the window was so dirty it was almost opaque. All things you can easily work around, but worth mentioning. As i said this was an alright stay, go in with the mentality that you are staying at a budget hotel, and sometimes saving money comes at a price.

We picked this hotel because of its location for the sightseeing sites. We didn't realize it is located right across from a bail bond building, which tells you a lot about the safety of this area. Parking is opened, no gates, which means you are on your own for any stolen items. The interior of the hotel is very old. Both the carpet in the hallway and inside the room is very old and dirty. I can see stains all over the hallway. Their ac/heater system did not work well and it cranked the entire night. When we turned off the ac/heater system, we could hear the refrigerator making clicking noise. So, the ac/heater system is there to mask other noise. Breakfast is your typical holiday inn breakfast. One thing I have to point out is that their bathroom is in the end of a winding hallway in the basement. You will need to ask the receptionist where it is because the breakfast attendants do NOT speak any English. I understand El Paso is a border city but English is still the national language in the US. This is not a Motel 6 and I expect Holiday Inn to hire someone who can speak some basic English. One last thing, their wifi sucks. We had a difficult time searching for thugs in our room. Their wifi password changed daily, which also tells you how Ghetto this is. Overall, this is one of the worst Holiday Inn Express we have stayed at. We are the premium members so we stayed at a good amount of Holiday Inns to have this opinion. I would not recommend this hotel. I would stay at the one near the Fountains, El Paso.
