Although the lady at the front desk was pleasant, I wont stay again. Continental breakfast consisted of toast, frosted flakes or raisin bran and orange juice. Pillows were FLAT. Curtains material was so worn they had holes and didn't fit so there was a safety pin to pull them together and light came through all the holes. This is the most nasty hotel I ever stayed at. The moment opened my room door, I was ready to close it and leave to another hotel. I had my kids with me and did I fell comfortable for my kids to sleep there, luckly I brought a sleeping bag to lay on top of the bed for them. Good location that is close the beach boardwalk and downtown. Room was good size. Bed was comfortable enough. Bathroom was big enough for one. Service was poor. No directions to room given when I checked in. No mention of broken entrance door. Outside doors to the rooms need card key for access. One door was out of order.The motel was empty and the attendant put us right at the door that wasn't working instead of near the next door that was working. We had to walk to the further door and all the way back to our room Ridiculous! They advertise breakfast which is toast and cold cereal. Overall, our stay was great. The staff is very nice. The only thing that really stinks is the early checkout time. 11:00am for people on vacation is kinda pushing it, especially people that work in the Nightlife industry. I didn't have any truly bad experiences here, but I agree with other reviewers that this is a place to spend a night or two. The front desk staff was friendly, the room was clean and sufficient for our purpose of a place to sleep. It came with a microwave, a small fridge, and the wifi worked very well. However, the bed and pillows were not very comfortable, […] and the walls were thin. We had a group of obnoxious, loud giggling girls who kept us awake both nights, and they sounded almost like they were in our room. The second night we got wise and turned on the fan in our room, which helped to drown out the sound of them, but then we had to try to fall asleep to the sound of that (and it made the room a little too cold.) Overall, it was an ok experience, and what you get in the room for the price is much better than many hotels in the area. Just beware noisy neighbors and I would recommend bringing your own pillow. I stay here every time I'm in santa cruz. The hotel is nice enough, clean and quiet. The bed is comfortable enough, and the cable TV is generous. Ample parking and A+ service. Close to everything.

Busy weekend in Sf. I booked last minute at an absurd rate. The front desk staff spoke minimal english and helped everyone in the lobby but me. 45 minutes later I checked into my room. 2 double beds...one wedged against the wall, the other missing a wheel (or something).
