If I get a 4-star hotel I expect better bedding, sheets and towels for a start ... we were given two bath towels (for two people) that were a bit scratchy and thin, poor pillows (only two on bed and had to ask for more), no robes, sheets and bedding are ok but not as good as you'd expect. Great location off of Ramblas. The hotel was nice overall. No real complaints... The NH Calderon seemed to be a little corporate and less boutique, so if you are looking for something different, this might not be the place to stay. However, it was a nice hotel and had a great location.

Quick one nighter in Barcelona so we picked this hotel for the location. It is perfectly located. Amenities are sufficient. Hotel staff was ok - no over the top service but adequate. Room was comfortable and clean. We would stay there again.

The only complaint I have is that the front desk should have had quicker answers to tourist questions. They were very helpful but sometimes the answers did not come right away.

The hotel is in an excellent location. Just a 2 block walk from Placa Catalyuna and airport bus. It's in a good neighborhood. Check in was easy. The room was very modern and very nice although a little stuffy. It was a warm day and I don't think they turned off the heat. I would definitely stay there again.

I was expecting sauna, indoor pool as well. However, reason of our trip was view of Barcelona and not wellnes activities.......:)......but after long day on the walking it would perfect fit sauna or indoor pool.......overall rating from us is just " perfect" for the reason mentioned in the experiences......

The staff were very helpful. The location was great. The room was okay. We were surprise that there were no drawers to put our clothes away.. There were the closets in the hallway but it only had 3 very small drawers. Not easy for us to put our clothes away. We were there for 5 days and we never unpacked our suitcases. Great location! Did I tell you about the location? Great location. The rooms in the hotel are also really really nice and clean. I stayed in a couple of hotels while in Barcelon. Nh Calderon was the best yet the least expensive.

NH is a wonderful hotel I stayed from june 27-29 then again july 6 for a night after the cruise. We arrived early in the morning and they have a room available and we got it very early . The room was very nice decorated and clean and quite large for Europe standards, the modern bathroom was very large with a separate area for the toilet and the shower. […] the only drawback about the room as that the bed I asked for a single full or queen bed , were two singles was my partner was not so happy and the mattress is a bit hard but nothing that was we cannot handle. There is no ice machine in the floor but you can call room service and they delivered couple of buckets. The staff is very friendly and accomodating!! The swimming pool is on the top floor and the attendants there are really friendly and nice. (they close the amenities at 9PM so if you arrive late and want to use it you cannot!!) Overall is a great hotel, excellent location within walking distance of most attractions and I will stay again there next time in Barcelona Read more

The hotel is close to everything, within walking distance to Las Ramblas, Casa Batllo and La Pedrera, staff speaks English and very helpful. Breakfast is expensive at 20 euros per person I think, no need to include it in your booking, there are plenty of cafes in front of the hotel for half of the price. Great location: at La Rambla, near Parseo de Gracias (Batló, Pedreira and brand stores). Walking distance to Metro, and major attractions. Friendly staff but not warm. The hotel is very old and needs an urgent revamp (very old carpet, furniture and overall environment). But was the room was clean and was quite big.

This hotel is in a great location, onthe Ramblas but on the other side of Placa Cataluna so in a much quieter section. Still lively and convenient to sights but more sedate. The room was larger than most in Europe, with a modern bath. Staff was helpful. Free wifi in lobby only. Would definitely stay here again.

This is an extremely well run Hotel (ask for a room on 10th floor). The Hotel is right on Las Ramblas and within a walk of many things to do and see. Breakfast was poor and overpriced and I do not recommend. Hotel provide free internet in lobby. It is slow but possible. At the checkout they charged or tried to charge us for some nuts from a mini-bar which we did not even see making us explain. Hotel was great, location was excellent. In Las Ramblas we walked everywhere. We even used the bus once to head to Park Guell and it was easy. Hotel was small rooms but thats normal for Europe. This hotel is at the center of the action. Cati, one of the front desk person was very nice and helpful. You get unlimited 15 minute internet voucher and the rooms were very clean. At the corner building, we stumbled on the best tapas/sangria place - cuidad comtal? in Barcelona. Two blocks down to Plaza Catalunya and the famous Las Ramblas . . . .

Ok hotel in a great location. The restaurant is very nice. Rooms are quiet. On the other side, my room needed to be painted and the bed cover didn´t look to clean. Some members of the staff were not too helpful and the checking in desk was understaff. I would probably go back because of its location.

The Calderon is in a great central location for sightseeing. I had a renovated room which was clean and nicely furnished. The lobby areas are small but very nice.
