Stayed at this hotel as part of a guys weekend. Everything about this hotel was as expected for the price, room was clean, it was comfortable for sleep, and the staff was very helpful and efficient during both check in and check out. Had a little trouble working the shower which appeared to have something wrong with the control handle, but we managed […] around it. Pretty much my only complaint is the fact we were hoping to stay close to the city night life and while the hotel was perfectly situated for that, there really isn't much of a night life to speak of. Fourth Street was supposed to be the place to be, but everything to see is the length of 1 city block and any place we wanted to just go into to sit and order drinks had a cover charge. None of this is the hotel's fault, just highlighting this point since there were quality hotels offering a better rate, but they were all further outside of the city. Read more

The bedding wasn't changed from the previous customer. They charged $5.00 to park in their lot, if I had known that I would not have picked Econo Lodge. This was my first experience with your chain, as it stands now it will be my last.. Gene Hudson

Overall it was nice. Wasn't the best hotel, but for a weekend get away it was convenient, and easy to get to everywhere. The outside of the hotel doesn't look like much, but the hotel room was updated and clean. The front desk staff was very helpful. I hardly heard any noise from adjoining rooms. Location was within walking distance of bus stops and a variety of restaurants. A hidden gem in Louisville.

Great downtown location. They staff was helpful and the price was right. The free breakfast was very limited. They did have a security guard in the lobby, but the surrounding neighborhood is kinda sketchy at night. The gas station across the street had drunks hanging around and urinating on the building, etc.

The room was very convenient to everything! Room was definitely economy, but not terrible. The carpet was a little sticky and the above sink lighting wasn't the best, but it was doable for the price. We would stay here again for the convenience.

The Econo Lodge was a great place to stay for two nights while visiting Louisville. I wasn't looking to spend a lot of money on a hotel but wanted to be close to downtown. This hotel was great! WIthin a short walk from everything downtown. Only a few blocks from the Yum Center and 4th Street live. The price was great. The only thing was we had a corner room and we had to walk out on the balcony to get wifi connection, but not a big deal. Any other room would pick up the connection just fine.

The rooms are pretty sparse but you can't beat the location for the price. Most of the other hotels in the area run more than two hundred dollars a night. The workers at Papa John's will ask you to move your car so that they can park closer to get their deliveries; they have their own parking spaces about 30 ft away... This is the best deal in downtown Louisville. It isn't the best hotel, that's for sure, but when the other places are charging $200+ a night, The Econo Lodge is the best option when you just need a place to sleep in downtown.

It was a cheap rate and near the downtown scene - close to the convention center and 4th street live area. The continental breakfast was a bit lacking and some of the staff were aloof, but overall, the location and price couldn't be beat. My only real complaint was that there were two light bulbs out and they didn't have any replacements at the front desk. Or more likely, they were too lazy to go look for them. Breakfast was pretty limited to. But otherwise, a good place to stay.

The room itself wasn't too bad. The entry light fixture was broke and sitting on the TV. The lighting over the bath sink was terribly dark. A flashlight would have provided more light. Hotel was what you would expect for an Econolodge. Room was clean and servicable. We slept fine on the king-size bed. Heater stopped working during the night so room was cold in the morning but we didn't stay long enough to care. Breakfast was cold cereal, toast, juice and milk. I have to start off by saying that for the price, I did not go into our stay expecting a 5 Star hotel. And for the most part, I was satisfied. Easy check-in, within walking distance to KFC Yum Center, where we were seeing a concert. However, even with the best of rate deals, finding a broken fridge in your room with mold in it is never a good thing. […] Our friends were staying a room over, and their fridge was working perfectly- so apparently it was just us. Also, we had a coffee maker, which was great- however, there was nothing to make in it. Again, had to go to our friend's room. So, aside from the moldy fridge, I wasn't too disappointed with our overnight stay. There's a pizza place in the parking lot, which made for a great late-night food run! Decent cheap hotel in downtown Louisville. It's nothing great or special, but is also low cost and clean and right next door to much higher priced lodging. If you need a budget hotel near downtown (within walking distance to the YUM! center) I'd recommend this place.

Because of proximity to 4th St Live tho hotel's location is hard to beat. Room was adequate at best. Bedding & furniture was very dated. Toilet & sink had cracks, shower was leaking. I spent as little time as possible in room for my 3 days so being in middle of downtown is true bonus.

Scary/scetchy. Cigarette Burns in the sheets. Bathroom light didn't work. Scary homeless Guy digging in the hotel dumpsters. Small room. Did not feel comfortable. Room was in a little corner leaving me weary of someone who could hide there. Wish I would have states in the indoor Marriott across the street.

We had 2 rooms at the Econolodge Downtown Louisville. We brought 5 kids to Louisville for a Dairy Quiz Bowl event to held at the Ketucky Expo Center. When we arrived at the hotel, the counter service was good, and we received our rooms right away. However, one of the rooms had a heater that when it was turned on, smelled like something organic was in […] it. The other heater when it ran sounded like an airplane was going to take off in our room. The outside doors both had light going all the way around it and the locks didn't feel very secure. One of the rooms when you sat on the bed the lights flickered and shut off the alarm clock. We had a meeting that night and told the attendent about these things when we left but nothing was done. It was kind of a scary experience for our kids and because they had to earn the money to take this trip they felt they could have maybe gotten better conditions somewhere else and would have better spent their money. If you are wondering why we stayed anyway it was because we had hoped they would fix those things while we were gone and at 10:00 p.m. when we got back it was too late to move (and of course how would we get our money back?).
