Unfriendly, dirty, smelly. I do not recommend!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The room we had was far off from parking no lighting and hard to find. The room had a bad smell and was really worn down. Car fresher hanging from ceiling fan pain pealing off walls beer bottles in sofa. I had to pay $50 deposit to use dishes and could only get money back if clean. When I got the dishes they were all greasy and covered in food. I slept […] fully dressed worried about beef the covers had stains all over them. I would have rather saved my money and slept in my car. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Better 'n Home!"
No need to bother family for everything when you are visiting Seattle. Location allows you to rest/relax, do your personal business, and do a bit of shopping. Then you can go out with family and friends. A rental car is nice but not a necessity. You can arrive late evening and leave early morning for your own convenience via shuttle or car. You can […] entertain friends and family at University Village which is just across the street. Restaurants are world class. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Convenient to U Village, UW, and Medical Center"
Front desk staff was very pleasant and the location of the hotel was very convenient. University Village shopping mall across the street and bus stop that goes onto the university campus just one block away. Hotel room did not have an iron/ironing board and the window unit heating/air conditioning was incredibly loud and did not auto-correct. The shower […] took a long time to warm up and there was minimal pressure. In-room safe also appreciated. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I was very disappointed in the shape of the rooms. I did not feel safe traveling by myself. Mold all over the window seals and the windows did not close all the way and it was very cold outside. The heater in one room did not work and had a vary large opening to the right side of it and cold air was coming in. It was warmer in the lobby than in the […] room. I was given another room thank goodness since it was paid for already and had to be at a class that cost alot of money to attend since coming from the Peninsula. I will know better to book earlier for a more safe, since being highly allergic to mold which was on all the windows it made me sick. I hope this helps in improving the quality of the rooms for others to assist in their stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"worse than expected for travelodge"
The shower head and shower faucet leaked noisily. The three facial tissues were soaked. I know there were three because I just knew there had to be a dry one somewhere in the box... The second day there was no toilet paper. The housekeeper expressed amazement that I wanted him to wait until after we left for the day to clean the room....Genuine Expedia guest review
"Cheap price but worn"
Room was huge. A one bedroom suite for under $100. But ceiling had water stains and carpet was taped in places. Room was satisfactory for short stay but needs an overhaul to update.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Old smelly halls noisy room"
I Booked the room to get some good rest before a major test but the room was so noisy I got hardly any rest at all also as I first entered the room I smelled this overwhelming odor of Mentholatum (Vicks) this was at 11pm I thought somebody was still in the room. I really think they need to update the carpets and CLEAN THE rooms there was dust in all […] the corners. Also it was over priced Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Cheap with bare essentials"
If you are only wanting a bed with the bare essentials, this will work. The bed was "ok" as far as comfort goes, the room was very small, and bathroom even smaller. Hotel looks dated, and looks like what would be across from a University campus.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Dated but clean. Close to shopping and restaurants"
Impossible to get to it if a Husky game lets out. Other than that, it was clean, friendly, and convenient. Make sure your door is closed all the way before leaving valuables inside. It's much nicer than the low price would lead you to believe.Genuine Expedia guest review
"good location with respect to the university"
ok, no complaints, clean room, quiet, adequate for our purposeGenuine Expedia guest review
"Heart of U District"
University Village Travelodge is a good motel for visiting family of university students. Very centrally located in the heart of the U District. The front desk clerk (I think her name is Sandy) is very personable and forthcoming with conversation and helpful recommendations that made our stay pleasant. The complimentary breakfast was well prepared and […] maintained by the cordial attendent. The motel was packed with guests, so that may be why we were unable to take a hot shower in the morning; water was tepid at best. But I would still recommend this motel because of it's ideal location, nice staff and reasonable price. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Could have been a better experience"
The cleaning staff was frantically cleaning rooms at 4:45 PM when we arrived. We ended up with an upper room or we could have waited for them to clean! Bathroom was small with the toilet tucked in close to the door. Took several minutes to get a barely dripping semi warm shower.Genuine Expedia guest review
"close to hospital"
I have been here several times and the fact that I keep coming back speaks for itself.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good place to stay"
Great location, have already reserved room for another day this month. Directly across from University Village, starbucks, great restaurants etc. Huskies Stadium just down the road, good cab service, and about a mile from University District and the Main UW Campus.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Clean and nice rooms"
Clean and nice rooms every thing great except for the street traffic and people noise outside, it could be fixed by adding double or triple pane windows.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A nice place close to campus"
Friendly staff. great location next to UW and the U district. They could use some updating but then the prices would go up......Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Okay, but not the best"
The hotel was okay. I love the location. It was located by UW and the Burke-Gilman trail, as well as by University Village (shopping and food). However, the place smelled. I want to say the entire place smelled like cigars (or at least the room I was in). yuk. By the time l checked-out, the smell was on me. The contiental breakfast was also just alright. […] Definitely not a lot of choice/variety. I think these were probably the worst parts of the entire place. Otherwise, it was okay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Close to UW - If you need that, it'll do"
First the good: Wi-Fi is free and works fine. Free breakfast minimal, but adequate. And, free on-site parking in a congested area. Beds fine, fridge in-room is convenient. Close to UW -- the main reason to stay here. Now the bad: Expensive considering the condition of the hotel. Very worn, especially hall carpets, wall sockets, and much more.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenience only plus"
Severely in need of a gutting and remodel. Parking is insufficient for the number of units. AC did not work, shower pressure limited.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Run down, dirty. Price and quality do not match"
Not nice. Looked old and dated. Interesting smell throughout the facility. Floors were very dirty.Genuine Expedia guest review
This is a oK hotel if you are on a budget and do not mind a simple room. Free breakfast and parking was a plus.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Bare Bones-But Convenient"
This is an economical and useful place due to it's location. I have stayed here a couple times when visiting my son at UW, attending Orientations ...etc. But it seems that it is not quite as nice as it was. "Nice hotel close to u of w."
I stay here every 4-6 months. Its always clean and quiet and close to food and shopping. Only thing i dont really care for is the bad water pressure in the bathroom. Other than that, nothing to complain about.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Poorly maintained motel in a great location"
Check in was perfunctory. Signs warned of a $250 fee for smoking in a room in this NO SMOKING facility. The front desk smelled of tobacco smoke. The first assigned room smelled of tobacco. The second assigned room did not smell of tobacco, but had a rather odd smell. Musty. The card reader lock on the secondary entrance was broken. Overall maintenance […] of the facility was very poor. Only one handicapped parking space, so we had to walk a good distance to enter the motel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Pool? Yes... But it's permanantly closed! Annoyed!"
Overall, disappointing... for the rate, I wasn't expecting the Taj Mahal however, it was a very inconvenient one-night stay. Even though they advertise a pool, upon arrival we were advised the pool is permanantly closed because they don't want to pay to make it ADA compliant. Switched rooms at 10:00 pm because the bathroom door was locked from the inside […] and they didn't have a key. New room had opened soap and dirty towels. No hot water. When we walked into the room it had a smell like laundry that you forgot in the washing machine for a couple days. We stayed because of the location near Seattle Children's Hospital and lower price compared to nearby hotels. Continental breakfast was decent.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Seatle University Area"
The location is great for attending UW games. Parking was not always available in hotel lot.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice bargain hotel"
Room clean and updated except for dated/worn furniture. Bed comfortable. Breakfast was very good. Location next to Mall and University of Washington worked well for our visit. Air conditioner worked well, but was loud.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Look for something else"
A very basic accommodation with a price of a much higher level one.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Warning - this was really not pleasant"
Where to begin. Hair in sink. Floor in bathroom unswept with large furry things drifting around. Wonderful photos of remodel are very deceptive - furniture in our room was in terrible shape and the rug was really decrepit. Bedclothes seemed ok but we were already creeped out by the bathroom so it was hard to feel comfortable. We would have left but […] we were exhausted. South end of hotel had very strong smoke smell but our specific room did not. AC unit aged and pretty noisy but it worked. Location is terrific for shopping and UW. We dont understand the positive reviews posted for this property, and upon which we "took a chance" given price in Seattle. I suppose that we got one of the bad rooms. Consider yourself warned. The staff was great but the hotel itself was very old. It was in great need of an update. I did not feel comfortable there.Genuine Expedia guest review
"It's a Travel Lodge, so what are you expecting?"
smaller rooms, tiny bathrooms, and the smallest showers I ve ever experienced- not to mention the weak water pressure- but c'mon! It's a travel lodge- and the cheapest thing just outside the city. Fine for passin through- and would probably stay again due to budget. Not one I'd write home about though...Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Cheap, near campus."
Not much to look at but clean and comfortable. Fairly quiet. Old furniture and fixtures. Cleaning service made bed and tidied up the bath but didn't leave new shampoo or cream rinse. Frozen food left in fridge from previous guest led me to believe the fridge is not wiped out between parties. Pool was not usable.Genuine Expedia guest review
"You are paying a lot of money for location"
Seattle is an expensive city. If you need to be close to the UW during a peak time (Aug/Sept or May/June or for Football season), this is as good as you can get without being in a total dive or paying more than 200.00 (with taxes included). On the plus side is the very friendly & competent staff, free parking, and comped breakfast. And Location. This […] hotel has been around as long as I have (i am a former seattle native) and some new paint and internet access are the only modern touches. Again, the staff is lovely. The price you are paying is for location, location, location & free parking near the University of Washington, University District, and University Village. It is a typical aging travel lodge. The hotel is tired, over 40, and, like much of the Pacific Northwest, has some moldiness. The carpets need replacing and the AC in my room (only necessary in the summer of course) was so loud I could not hear the TV. The room was as clean as the staff could make it, but it is an old hotel with new paint. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Too much money for so little"
We are trying to be fair and leave aside emotional definitions. But it is inadmissible how this place still has the authorization to operate as a hotel. We are seniors. We payed $156 (including taxes) for a room for 2 persons. The receptionist was cold and distant. We had to carry the bags to the room by ourselves, through the staircase, without any […] help from the personal. Rooms are ugly, with very old furniture and worn out carpets and curtains. Breakfast was "continental", but there was nothing attractive on the "continent": in short, bad, too; basic things like scrambled eggs or marmelade were not available. Noisy, inside and outside. After we had checked out we left the baggage in the office. When we came to pick them up to leave for the airport, my wife asked to use the restrooms. Another employee, exactly as cold and distant as the previous one, said that there was no "public restrooms", so you could only go to the bathroom if you had a room. Do employees have a bathroom? Guests are not allowed to use them? Do you need to know more? Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Close to University of Washington"
If you're looking for an inexpensive, comfortable and clean place, this is it. It's not fancy, but it's quiet and close to campus, and has the basic amenities. The decor is a little outdated, but the staff is friendly and professional. If you're looking for a place to crash at night for not a lot of money, this is the place for you.Genuine Expedia guest review
Hotel is close to UW campus, high end retail and good restaurants. another plus its right on Burke gilman trail. Other pros - Bed was comfy and staff helpful. The cons - rooms need to be updated as Furnishings, carpet are worn and shabby. Exterior hallway should have cement areas power washed. Bathroom was tiny. Breakfast room too small and between […] 7-9 am over crowded so that I took my breakfast to go! Will consider other hotel thats nearby next time I'm in Seattle. "Less than favorable experience."
First impression, walking up the steps of the side entrance (to Room 117, as I recall}, was negative because of the many cigarette butts. Room apparently recently remodeled, but floor was squeaky, and water temperature surged in bathroom. In general, noisy outside the room.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A decent hotel for sleeping"
The rooms were comfortable and did what they are designed to do: give people a place to stay. The breakfast was fine except the choices were limited to vegetarians/vegans, and the fresh fruit selection was limited to two kinds: oranges and apples. With an empty pool greeting just about every guest, it's clearly not focused on amenities.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Convenient but Nothing More"
The property hasn't been modernized for a long time . . . the hallways, common areas, and rugs were embarrassing. Breakfast area could be better designed by a 4th grader. Air Conditioning was weak and noisy. Housekeeping forgot my room one day. Coke machine was broken. I was there for an event at UW a few blocks away, otherwise, forget it!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Close to University Village"
. Not worth the money. Facility to kept up. Dirty carpets, stuffy rooms. Paint chipping, moldy bathtub, sidewalk concrete broken and tilting. Breakfast unappetizing. Overall disappointing for the price.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Terrible dirty smelling hotel"
The room was full of dust, dirt, smoke smell, dark, old, by far the worst hotel I have seen in a long while! For 150 dollar per night is just a scandal to be so overpriced for that ugly stay!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Fair priced stay for a fair hotel."
This room was more updated than my first experience at this hotel...so more comfortable. The weird thing though was the sheets popped off the queen bed...they didn't fit! Kind of basic. Other than that the location is great.Genuine Expedia guest review
I was put in one of the rooms "across the street" which appear to be old apartments. They had to move me 3 times before I was in a room that didn't smell and I thought I might be able to sleep. The 1st apartment carpet smelled of animal pee and had stains, the 2nd apartment smelled of dead fish, and the third at least didn't stink so I stayed because […] I was tired. "Great area close to UW and the University district"
Great area close to UW and the University district! Hotel staff were awesome, especially the cleaning staff. Only drawback was limited parking for our very long pickup truck:( But front desk staff steered us to the only parking spot that would accommodate us and that was great!Genuine Expedia guest review
