The rooms were really nice - stayed here in the past pre-update -- major improvement. Nothing fancy , but the room was clean and relatively quiet; but the location is perfect (especially if you're a walker or have a bike) to get to anywhere on campus or the U-District. Lots of good restaurants around and if you're a shopper - the mall's across the street. […] No elevator in the building and you definitely want a room "in the back". The front desk staff is a little unprofessional -- quite a cast of characters actually! Helpful, but not very happy. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location..very dirty hotel"
The lobby floor was filthy and smelled of smoke. The floors in the hallways and stairs were filthy. There were huge stains everywhere and no attempt to vacuum the three days we were there. Fortunately the room was fairly clean. although no attempt had been made to wipe old soil from anything . It would take very little to make this hotel a perfect place […] to stay. Too bad no one cares. I wouldn't stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to medical center but terrible stay"
If there had been hot water at least once when I tried to take a shower, I would not have bothered much for the mildew-ish/smoking smell in the hotel and in the room. The hallways were also filthy, not to mention the rooms were not great either... I booked this at last minute and that's about all I can say about the convenience. I have booked far better […] places at the last second and received much better service for the same price, I wouldn't recommend this stay to anyone. I also would've asked for my money back but had too much going on to deal with people who probably couldn't make executive decisions. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hotel close to EMP Museum & Space Needle"
Stayed here as it was close to wine event we attended at EMP. Staff was friendly upon arrival. Room was clean with large shower, microwave, fridge, WiFi & cable TV. Hotel facilities are old and really needs a renovation. Carpet in hallways was grim. Breakfast room was what you would expect. This worked for 1 night but probably will not return.Genuine Expedia guest review
"very convenient location relative to Univ. of Wash"
Fine. A bit noisy outside, but not too bad. nice room. very good breakfast.. Reasonable price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to UW"
Comfy beds, lobby still smells like stale smoke but halls and room clean. Good service, let me check in early. Shower could have been cleaner, but overall, a good experience.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Across the street from University Village"
The hallways are in desperate need of new carpeting and the walls need painting. The room, bathroom and bedding were clean. I was impressed that housekeeping actually mopped the bathroom floor each day we stayed. Breakfast was decent. The best part was that the hotel was directly across the street from the University Village shopping mall. Great restaurants, […] Starbucks and a grocery store. Very convenient! "Trouble getting hot water"
Good points: Free parking, free wi-fi, basic breakfast. Room clean, beds comfortable. Bad points: Had a lot of trouble getting hot water reliably. We changed rooms, which helped a bit, but couldn't always count on getting hot water. Although the room was clean, the hallways were very dingy with soiled carpets. Location was convenient to University, […] with excellent mall across the street with good restaurants, drugstore, grocery stores, so easy access to anything you might need. Longish bus ride to downtown, requiring a transfer to most destinations. Staff was friendly and helpful. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Very basic lodging here. Dirty - verging on squalid - carpets in hallways, but my room was basically clean. Seemed over-priced (from an out-of-towner's perspective) for what you got, but this is probably due to location and season. Front desk staff ranged from helpful to not so. Had to call twice to arrange a taxi.Genuine Expedia guest review
...the hotel office reeked of cigarette smoke, the carpets throughout the hallways and our room were stained and dirty, the lighting was too dim in the hallways (to hide carpet?), the fluorescent lighting in our room made my eyes want to bleed, also there was a general funky, old foot smell. Just. Everywhere. To be fair, I don't expect much from the […] Travelodge; however, at over $100/night these conditions are incredibly disappointing to say the least. I suspect this particular location can get away with charging exorbitant prices because it is so close to the University. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Rooms are not nice and not paying for."
The Seattle Travelodge was very old and dingy. Nasty stained old carpets, bumpy beds. The air conditioner sounded like a truck rumbling in the room the whole night with no variable speeds. Was affraid to touch anything in the room. The free parking was nice and the continental breakfast was ok but the room itself was extremeely worn, very old, and dirty. […] The staff was nice though. "Expensive for the amenities"
The lobby reeks of cigarette smoke but the room was clean smelling. The waffle bar was crowded but basically suited our needs except than it closed at 9am.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Old, old, old"
I was really disappointed. The room was fairly clean but the age of the hotel and furniture was too much to overcome. Stains on the chair, rusty and dirty shower drains, extremely worn edges on wooden furniture and rude staff are but a few of the issues. Won't be back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Do yourself a favor and don't stay here!!"
This was a very run down hotel, even though some reviews I read said it had been completely renovated. I have never seen such incredibly tiny bathrooms in a hotel in my life (My son's cramped studio apartment has a bigger one!). The staff was no where to be found when I needed to check out in the morning, and I waited for almost an hour at the desk. […] I finally had to leave to get to an appointment and then leave town. All in all, definitely not worth any price for me. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not convenient to the city of Seattle, very dirty"
Essentially, the hotel itself has not been kept up well. The shower barely got hot at all, and sometimes it would switch to freezing cold water right in the middle of showering. We stayed 4 nights and we NEVER got fresh sheets while we were staying. The TV in our room was broken and also the remote was missing when we first got into the room. The Air […] Conditioning unit in the room didn't really work. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Only good thing about it was that we got a good discount, but really it wasn't even worth what we paid. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The room I booked, a 'suite' (chosen only as the least expensive option to the standard room I wanted) turned out to be in an annex away from the main hotel, with no adjacent parking, in an old apartment building next door. The room was not to my liking, so I returned to the office to see if I could relocate to a different room. The desk attendant seemed […] unable or unwilling to comprehend the request, suggesting while I was standing right there in the hotel that I would have to contact Expedia to change my reservation. After consulting with a manager who was out of sight, he grudgingly arranged for a different room, which I later learned cost me an additional fee. All that aside, the office and hallways were unclean, with stained, dirty carpet, and reeked of old smoke odor, though the hotel is purported to be smoke-free. The room was adequate, but the service and conditions of the rest of the hotel were disappointing to the degree that I'd not return or recommend it to anyone. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Has seen better days."
Not a bad location. The lobby smelled like cigarettes. The hotel looks like it would have been a decent place to stay in the late 70's, but hasn't seen much TLC since. Everything was avail. Wifi, cable, fridge, but the bed was lumpy and everything VERY worn. Reasonably expected for the price. I'd stay again if I had nowhere else.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Budget hotel close to UW"
Frankly what made my decision was the fact that it was at least $20-$30 cheaper than anything else in the area. For me, I needed to be near the U-District without spending a whole lot, and the Travelodge fit the bill nicely. Check-in was smooth, the front desk gentleman was kind and helpful, and the room was fine. Not a luxury hotel, to be sure .. in […] fact it's closer to being a motel, I would say. But it saved me some money and put me near the U-District. Actually I believe that area there is called University Village, and there is a nice shopping mall just across the street from it. "Worst Travelodge ever"
This motel was just horrible. The lobby smelled very strongly of cigarette smoke. The rooms were so old and the furniture was disintegrating. First I switched rooms because it was so scary and then the new room was a bit better but still not worthy of anyone staying there. I went to the store and bought Fabreeze. The bathroom was clean though.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good location but rooms aren't great"
The first room they put us in was at the end near a slamming door. It smelled of urine and stale smoke, that they tried to cover with some cleaning agent. We switched rooms, only to find that the safe didn't work in our second room. Not a bad place, but not good either; the location is the best thing about it. "across the street from university mall"
The room was advertised as a queen suite, instead it was a run down apartment located behind the hotel across the street. The apt. was in bad shape. The couch had a large tear and stains on it, the TV picture was in red, and no alarm clock anywhere. I was staying by myself and did not feel very safe. When I asked the front desk if I could change to […] a room in the hotel they told me they would have to charge me more money. They said they would bring a clock and different TV but never did. Travelodge was conveniently located to suit our needs; however, the overall condition of the hotel was just outside of my comfort zone. When entering the hall, there was a stale, musty smell in the hallway. We had the largest room, a King bed. It was nice to have room to move about. Upon arrival the room was chilly; someone had left the window open. It seemed to take awhile to get the room to a comfortable temperature. The duvet (covers) on the bed was lumpy, due to washing. I kept […] feeling the odd sensation of the uneven weight of the covers. The room was adequate with a microwave (which we never used), a small fridge (which we did use) & a coffee pot. "Wow really went down hill"
We stayed at this hotel last year and it was cleaner and running better. We stayed in one of their 'suites' which had two bedrooms, a bathroom and kitchen. That worked out fine as it was me, my husband and my mom. However, it was not very clean. The TV was really poor. Both sinks were full of scratches and cracks which made them look unappetizing for […] use. And I'm sure unsanitary as well. When we arrived for breakfast the first day no one was in attendance. They were out of plates, hot water, bread, batter for waffles and the food bar was a mess. Another guest went to the front desk to request help. They came and refilled everything but never cleaned up anything. Because all their plates, cups and eating utensils are throwaway, the garbage bins were overflowing. Needless to say, the next morning we went elsewhere for breakfast. We travel to Seattle for a special event every year. We will not stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

At 7pm at night, the computer was down, rooms were not made, rooms and hallways smelled and registration room smelled of cigarettes and registration person did not have a kept up appearance. This hotel needs to be picked for hotel impossible.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hallways smelled terrible. Some of the rooms were smoking rooms, and the smell leaked out. The bed wasn't super comfy, but the sheets were nice. The hot water in the shower was finicky, and it often ran cold. We didn't even have a remote in our room, so we couldn't watch tv. It was okay because we were busy most of the time. There was a mall right […] across the street. The cleaning staff were sweet. They would always smile and wave as we passed them cleaning other rooms as we went out. The walls were paper thin though.
