Staff was friendly, Parking is very limited which meant we decided that we should walk everywhere rather then loose our good parking spot. Beds were comfortable and bathroom was clean. The showers are real small but other then that we were satisfied with our room. We did enjoy the continental breakfast. Thanks.

The location, cleanliness, and service were great. However, was not pleased by the noise of someone in the parking lot loading and unloading chains or metal out of the back end of their pick-up at 5:00 a.m. on Sunday morning.

Very nice hotel, rooms were clean, beds very comfortable. Bathroom was kind of small, as well as shower. Shower was very very slippery! Had to put down a towel so no one got hurt. Overall, I would recommend this to others.

Location is excellent! Easy walk to downtown and fisherman's wharf. Outside of the hotel is old 50s style, but rooms on the inside are all redone. Comfortable bed, new shower head with good pressure. We would stay here again.

Front desk staff was friendly, bedroom was clean (seems like they did some renovation) and bright (with lights on!), bathroom was clean but with very low shower head and the choice of the material used in the shower area makes it look like it has dirty spots in the wall even though it was really clean. I spent one night there, so no issues but outside […] conditions of the building are not impressive, underground parking seems like a very old subway station with leaks everywhere. I would stay there again if I was looking for a cheap and clean place to stay in Monterrey but make sure you stay there just to sleep, no place to hang out outside your room. Read more

Stay was OK but Hotel was a little run down. Hotel is in a good location but has no views of the coast, just gas stations and busy city streets. The breakfast was the most disappointing of all. Not much thought or quality so we ate out both mornings.

Convenient location and ok amenities and rooms, nothing fancy though. Breakfast is very average, but also ok. Staff is very nice. You basically get a good deal for the location and price. Only real critique: I was informed on checkout that there is a separate charge for the hotel safe. This was pretty awkward - even if it's only a few bucks.

I'd hoped that the reviews about the noise were untrue. They weren't. Loud, traffic, stomping from above, yelling from the side, the doors were so tough to shut you had to slam them! It was a short ten minute walk through a safe neighborhood to get to the fishermans wharf, that was great. The desk guys were very friendly as was the hostess at breakfast. […] I will say the breakfast was stale and ALL the yogurt was expired by three weeks! I mentioned that to the gal and she got me a fresh one. We were looking for a quick overnight stay and it was fine but we wouldn't stay there again. Read more

A friend from out of town came to Monterey last minute and it was a chance to see her without having to drive hundreds of miles or buy a plane ticket. Literally booked on hotels.com as we drove there and then didn't check in until 1000 when every room had apparently sold out due to an event that was going on in town. The room was good, no complaints about cleanliness (beside housekeeping forgetting dirty cleaning rags and extra pillow cases in the room.) Thursday night was fine. However, once the weekend came around, the Travelodge became the place to party. Many loud "partiers" were running around talking and making noise into the wee of hours of the night. The […] worst was Saturday night. Around midnight, the man in the next room had a visit from a hooker (we know this because we could hear their conversation!!). They were talking so loudly neither of us could sleep so I called the front desk who called over to ask them to quiet down. No such luck, the conversation just continued. Since the front desk wasn't able to quiet them down, I asked if we could change rooms to just get some sleep. When I asked if we could leave our stuff since it was now 1 in the morning, they told us no, but then said we had to have it out at 7am! We had to change rooms because they couldn't control their rude quest and then were more worried about the room being cleaned the next morning. When my friend went to get our new keys, he informed the front desk there was a hooker in the room, to which he just got a response of "Oooh..that kind of conversation." This is normal and okay??? We were not offered a discount or even an apology for the inconvenience. Will never stay here again and recommend to anyone spend a little extra money and stay somewhere that isn't a spot for partiers on the weekend. It's not worth it!! Read more

The hotel was clean and tidy. The location was extremely close to shops and the bay. We noticed we forgot toothbrushes and toothpaste and the front desk had complimentary ones for us. The hotel was quite as well. We also enjoyed the reasonable rates.

I was very happy with my stay. The beds were comfortable , i like how the bathroom & vanity area were blocked off away from rest if room. I really found the fridge convienence because i have a little toddler who wakes upbin night for milk. Cleaning ladies were super nice n quick to clean.

This is an average econo-motel about 20 minutes walking distance of the Monterey Conference Center. Very friendly and helpful desk staff morning and night. Average to slightly above average size of room. Water and electricity conservation, No mini-fridge or micros wave, but has coffee pot and supplies. We stayed in Monterey for just one night, so I looked for something centrally located. This is a great location, within walking distance from downtown, and a very short drive to the wharf and cannery row. The outside of the hotel does look a bit dated, but inside was fresh and clean. The only real issue we had with the room, is that the drapes do not […] close completely, I don't know whose idea that was, but it should be fixed. There is only a thinner inner linen lining that can be closed all the way, but this material is so thin it's see through, which doesn't work if you and your significant other want some "private time." Luckily my girlfriend had a safety pin, which we were then able to use to keep the drapes 90% closed. So just make sure u bring a safety pin. Read more

This hotel was actually nicer than I expected. The bed was very comfortable and the hotel was very clean. It offered free breakfast in the morning and water and juice available all day. They also offered free internet and parking. The location was great! It was a short walk from the Wharf. I would highly recommend this hotel! Great for the price!

We were only in Monterey one night and stayed at this hotel after making a reservation through Expedia. Marc, the desk clerk who checked us in that evening was egregiously rude. Luckily, my husband, granddaughter, and I were enjoying a wonderful mini-vacation in San Francisco, Santa Cruz, and Monterey and even his angry, disrespecful manner wasn't able […] to shake us out of our good moods. He treated us like we were a royal pain in the neck to him just by checking in, rather than welcomed guests. I am nearly 60 years old and have never been treated so badly by a motel desk clerk in my life. Everyone can have a bad day/night at work, but his rudeness was inexcusable. Of course, this is only one person on one night, so I don't know that it reflects on the motel. The morning desk clerk was wonderful. I would have rated this hotel a 4 or a 5, but for Marc. He was clearly angry before we arrived and was not able to de-escalate his anger enough to be do his job in anything close to a professional manner, but, indeed, took his anger out on us. Read more
