Convenient location across from St Laurent shopping mall. Good restaurant in hotel. Great pub in hotel. Easy access to airport

Overall, the Chimo is a nice place to stay. The staff is nice and are eager to please. I had a problem with an inoperative a/c unit, and was instantly upgraded to another room. I had requested a room with hardwired internet, since the wireless service is poor. It turns out that the wired internet was no better. This was a big deal to me, since I need the internet to do my job. If you don't need the Web, it's a good value, but until I know that the internet connections have improved, I won't be back.

This is the second stay for me at the Chimo, and maybe the last. the people are great, but the place just doesn't get that I'm there on business. I do a lot of work at night on my laptop, and they just can't provide decent internet. this time I requested a hardwired room, and the internet was still so slow that it wasn't worthwhile. They want to charge you for the "Business Center" and it's not much better. The desk people try but can't really help.

This is an example of a nicely maintained older hotel. elevators a bit on the noisy side, but rooms are clean and quiet, the restaurant is nice, and the people are extraordinarily nice, especially Jennifer in the restaurant, who was awesome. Not far from the 417 Transcanada, and OK to downtown.

After reading a couple comments, we were prepared that "this might not so good." We were surprised, it is a very nice business hotel that takes care of families too. The restaurants, Quincy's for Breakfast and Chancey's (pub style) for evenings were very nice. Good value on the food and excellent and attentive service. Two minor improvement areas. The bathtub (we were on the 8th floor) was slow to drain. And there was some trouble with establishing an Internet connection from the room. (The night desk person was not technically savvy enough to assist). That's it and both were addressed by the hotel when we brought them up.

Staff pleasant, polite, helpful. Hotel across the street from huge shopping center. Several restaurants within 1 block. 10 minute drive to downtown Ottawa.

This hotel was in a convenient location on the east side of the city, but it was a little worn had a residual musty/smoke smell in some areas.

When we checked into Chimo's, there was one person handling the desk. Two people were in front of me checking in, phone was ringing and this person could not handle it all. He never even did answer the phone. Needless to say, it took way too long to check in. Then he just pushes me my room key without saying a word. I said am I all set? He just says yes. So then the beds in the room don't even have fitted sheets on the mattress. They're using flat sheets and tucking them under the mattress. By the time you wake up, they are half off showing the mattress, which is disgusting to say the least. We found bananna chips on the carpet and the showers are filthy. Years of dirt.

Could use some updating. The staff was exceptionally helpful. A front desk gentleman in the evening was kind enough to print out directions and maps for us to return to East Norwich, New York (we couldn't locate ours).

Very pleasant stay. Comfortable rooms. Helpful staff.

This is a good place to stay. Rooms very clean and a very good value. I will use this hotel again.
