The rooms were clean. It is located just around the corner from Milton on Rt 66, so it is in a great central area to reach anything in Flagstaff. The breakfast was not as good as it was the last few times we staid.

They were doing some painting on the outside which is way overdue, so it seems as though they are trying to clean it up, but the surrounding neighborhood is sketchy with drunk people yelling things at 9AM!

I was very upset with my visit. The water got turned off whem I was getting ready for a shower. There were crumbs in my bed (obviously the cleaning crew didn't change the bedding). I will never stay at this location again

We have stayed at this motel several times. It is clean and suits if your not going to be in the room the whole time. They are in the process of remodeling the outside so you have to move around that, but the men who were doing the work were polite and tried to keep out of the way as much as possible.

The rooms smelled of old mildew. The desk attendant said the rooms had recently gone under renovations but I could not tell where. This locations should NOT have the Howard Johnson name on it. It was a DIVE!

Only a place to crash for the night on the way to the Grand Canyon. But was so skeevy that neither my friend or myself were willing to walk barefoot in the room. We both slept on top of the covers fully clothed.

I was not impressed at all, the room was clean but carpet and mattresses were really worn out, they were not comfortable to sleep on at all. Some sheets even had stains on them. The service from the staff was friendly, they gave us extra blankets and towels when we asked for them. In all fairness, the location was very convenient.

This hotel offered a room with three beds - 2 in the "main" room and another in a small off shoot (with door). Perfect for what we needed. The maintenance of the hotel was lacking as the light in the bathroom would not stay off unless we pressed the switch sideways, and the threshold to the small room was missing which allow the nails from the carpet […] tack strip to poke my bare feet (no blood, just pokes). The breakfast was Spartan - toast, English muffins, dry cereal and unflavored oatmeal. The orange juice, however, was some of the best I've drank. Service at the desk was polite but not effusive. The staff was friendly the few times I needed to see them. The room was you're standard hotel room. My only complaint, the shower head didn't move and they have the flattest pillows I've ever had at a hotel. Could not get to sleep the first night. I asked to 2 more pillows and got 1. Other than that it was fine for the price.

Inexpensive, older hotel w/ obvious garlic and curry aroma. Room was definitely clean but hallways and surroundings somewhat messy. Service and continental breakfast are OK. Looking for luxury?...Perhaps not this place. But VERY much worth the cost for the spotlessly clean bed and bathroom.

The motel is in the center of Flagstaff and close to Grand Canyon (1 1/2 hours), which was very convenient. There are plenty of restaurants nearby. The room was clean and cozy, but a little bit small for 4 people. We could take our dog for a small extra fee (the hotel`s website did not mention this). The hotel was on the main road to the grand canyon. There were restaurants and grocery stores near by. The room had everything that we needed for a quick stop on our way through. Unless it's breakfast time, the staff is very eager to not have anyone in the lobby. They have free WiFi but there's no signal in the rooms. Amenities are not as listed on the website. There was stuff smeared on the wall. You have to carefully check the towels. Besides being dingy several had large clumps of hair and most were damp. For a $26 room, this Howard Johnson's wasn't bad. It isn't Embassy Suites, but your paying 1/5 the cost of Embassy suites. On my next ski trip, I'll stay here again. Staying at Howard Johnson Flagstaff AZ was ok. The room was an alright size. I got a great deal on the price when you book about a month early. The one thing that the website states was a king size bed when we got there it was about a full size bed so I thought that was funny. It was clean when we got there. Room was filthy there was a bar of soap with hair on it left in the shower, no shampoo in shower. Didn't appear to have been vacuumed recently. Just plain dirty.

Well, not much to say. Room was clean, only complaint i have is that they really need to paint their hotel rooms. Water flacets are reversed like everyone else has said. The heater worked great in my room as well, i know others said that they had no heat.

This was my second night of my three day drive from near Joplin, MO. to Santee, CA. The motel must be one of the oldest along Route 66 and does not reflect positively on Howard Johnson chain. This motel needs refurbished ASAP as the room I was in heater did not work well enough for the colder temps and I had to use the space heater that was sitting […] in the corner. There was "a lot" of mold in the bathroom and the tile floor was causing this because it had become unlevel more than the normal amount. I will not stay at this HoJo again, but pay a little more to stay at the other HoJo in same town that is newer. I worked at a brand new HoJo in Santa Maria, CA many years ago and I remember my training in the Restaurant area very well. Read more

Room was disgusting. Place was ran down (i.e. needs paint, trim falling off, etc.). Limited parking as some spaces were consumed with snow piles from snow removal from parking lot. Beds were small and uncomfortable. Toilet overflowed 3x and had to clean it up ourselves. When reported to front desk they said, "OH, OKAY". No apologies or offers to help […] by front desk personnel. When we checked in, the front desk man told us that if we needed anything that he was available 24 hours a day. He was very kind. We got to our room and noticed that there was no working lights in the bathroom....so we proceeded to call the front desk. The Phone was incoperable because the cord had been wriped out of the wall. So we had to walk over […] to the front desk to let them know. We were told that someone would be over right away. No one ever showed. Good thing I brought a flash light becauese that was the lighting we used in the bathroom to shower. Dissatisfied with hotel overall. Room was clean but expected to see starsky and hutch hanging out in it. Heater was inadequate and room was cold. We chose this hotel because it advertised to have 2 Saunas, Spa and free Internet access. When we got there the Saunas and the Spa were in maintenance and after calling many times the front desk, we could not get a good network key to access the internet. The heater would not cover the bathroom and it was too cold.
