"Excellent opportunity for someone on a budget"
The staff are kind and honest, the room was clean even if non-glamorous. I especially appreciated the attention given to cleanliness of the bathroom and bedsheets. I was made to feel welcome and would definitely stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"close to lots of shops resturants Fishermans Warf"
enjoyable except for next door neighbors trying to knock a hole in the wall all night, the office is size 6x6 enough room for one person at a time to stand at the desk and quite ratty with a rack of honeybuns on the wall and a coffee pot? im sure there were some cups and cream and sugar as well but didnt see them, had to peep through a hole in the wall […] and ring a bell to wake someone up after hours? to ask a question or get extra coffee for the room... it was around the block from good resturants and lots of activity and despite the office schrade we would stay there again Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"hotel is ok, customer service not so good"
I only expect a clean bed, hot water shower and a television that at least has the local networks. That is not expecting much as far as facilities. As for service, I don't expect the ritz carlton at these prices, but I do expect service with a smile. I just got grumpy answers with unhappy face.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"You get what you pay for"
Excellent location. Somewhat noisy at night. Friendly staff. Would stay there again.Genuine Expedia guest review
It's ok if you lower your expectation to a very minimum and just need a bed to spend the night. Looks and feels like the very bad freeway motel. Location is not that great either - you have to drive to everywhere and you know haw messed up are the streets/traffic in SF + ridiculously expensive parking (finding a paid/meter spot on the street could be […] quite challenging as well). So considering all that and if you can afford to spend a few more $ for better place/location - i would suggest getting a nicer hotel! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Clean, decent hotel. I stayed for one night before I had to leave the next morning. Lights in bathroom and bedroom were on a timer/motion detector. Nice service. Slightly sketchy area, but close to a big road and populated area. The bedding was slightly thin, but acceptable. My room had a TV, refrigerator, one-shot coffee maker, hairdryer, and a sightseeing […] book on the nightstand. I would be willing to stay there again if I needed to stay cheaply. "Great location, clean, parking, and good deal"
I stayed here with my family. For the money, I'd highly recommend this place. The location is right in the Marina by many great restaurants, shops, and a nice neighborhood. We rented a car and parking was not a problem although sometimes the hotel lot was full and we could not park there, so I had to drive around a bit to find an open spot. All in all, […] if you are on a strict budget, this hotel will not disappoint you. The other guests seemed pretty decent while we were there which was a relief because my wife and I have a young son. I was a bit worried there'd be a bunch of transients staying there as it is SF, but this is not the case. We did not spend much time at the hotel anyway as we tried to experience as much of the Bay Area as possible, but it was an ideal place to rest at night and regroup. Advantage: free parking, great location, affordable Disadvantage: place worn out and old, not the cleanest place ever, and although affordable I think the price could be less for what's offered. All in all: averageGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great area, nice place to stay for its price"
Stayed at the Greenwich Inn for two nights, but I've booked another few nights. The Marina district first of all is a pleasant area, quite free of crazy people and homeless people. If you're going to pay the same price to stay in downtown SF, stay in the Marina district. You'll feel safer, and won't have people screaming in the middle of the night. I […] was given a compact room with just about everything I needed - nice bed, nice pillows, hangers, mini-fridge, shower, heater and some coffee. IT was lacking a strong Wi-Fi connection though, which was a downside - had to go close to the window and open the blinds to get better connection. The room was tidy though, the sheets were white and no stains on the floor. Funny desks though - one was too low for the chair, and the other was too high. Not that it affected my travels or anything. The manager was very kind, always open to questions and giving me pleasant answers. There's a bus two blocks down that takes you down to mission street, and there's also a coin laundry close by. You can walk North East-wards to view the Golden Gate Bridge. If anything, I wasn't staying in very good places for the past few days, but this place made me feel much safer, and good value for its price. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Room was basic - clean and a fit"
Experience was very pleasant. I was here for a Dreamforce conference that had 140,000 folks in attendance. I booked it through Expedia but I accidentally booked through Tuesday versus Wed. The staff were very helpful to add a day on and stay a bit later. Room was clean. A few paint issues but good. Basic TV, Internet were helpful. Off of Union Street […] and this allow you to take the 45 bus into downtown that was convenient. While not the Ritz Carlson, I was not in need of that but a pleasant room where I could sleep and relax. The Greenwich Inn met that need. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Not bad for the price"
Very good location, extremely nice operators, helped me out with bag storage in their personal living quarters while I was gone for the day after checkout and they booked me a shuttle to the airport. The bed was fine but the table I was working on was small and low, the height of the chair I was sitting in. It was quiet, the beds were comfortable, […] there were a lot of towels, wash clothes, soap and shampoo provided. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great location for the event we were attending."
Great customer service. We arrived around 11:30 pm and staff was very nice. Allowed us a late checkout without extra charge. It is in a loud area of town with lots of nightlife. Since we were there to do the Mermaid run series @ 5:30 am, we did not partake:). We were able to sleep despite the noise. For the price, it was worth it compared to other places […] around the area. The only drawback is that I would have liked a thicker blanket. The mini fridge in the room is a plus. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good location but not that comfy"
The Inn is placed conveniently near Fisherman's Wharf and the Golden Gate. However, it was a rather odd stay. The innkeeper enter our room without knocking with his pass card, the light in the bathroom goes out if you stay too long, and it was cold... The beds were good and the TV had plenty programs, just that it would be nice to have more blankets. […] The parking lot is small, it's first come, first serve. If you just need a room to sleep and plan to be out all day, that you can accept some drawbacks, and have a limited budget, it's not that bad a deal. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Need NEW beds!"
I enjoyed everything about this hotel except the bed. It was very soft and did not have much support. The room was nice and clean. The location is great because the parking is free and the location of the hotel is on a side street rather than on Lombard. The staff was very pleasant and helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nightmare on Steiner Street."
The location was good. The clerk was pleasant enough. The accomodations were terrible. The room and bathroom were very small. We could barely move around. There was no air conditioning and I couldn't figure how to open the window until the last night. The clerk didn't know how to open them either. The price was close to $200.00 a night. "Not recommended for business traveler"
The staff were friendly, the outside of the hotel looks generally well kept, and the location in the Marina is very convenient. But the room itself, while seemingly kempt, had a musty odor to it. As well, the furniture was well used/worn that was likely 30+ years old, the toilet seat was worn out with scrape and fade marks on it, the bottom of the sink […] was exposed (unfinished exposed with mfgr. stamp on it, and no vanity below it), and the motel setup (all rooms exposed to outside) feel didn't make feel overly secure there. It got the job done in a pinch (i.e., b/c it was America's Cup week and Oracle Open World week thus all hotels were booked across the city), but I will not go back again on business. If I was just out of college and wanted place to crash after partying in the Marina with my friends - it would work. But outside of that I would not recommend to a business traveler, and would not allow my wife or kids to ever stay there. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Short Stay in SanFrancisco"
The building was old, our room was small and the king bed was queen size. The room and furniture were in poor condition, There was no air conditioning and no fan in the room (had to get one from the office). The Iron leaked and had to be replaced. The continental breakfast was a packaged bun to pick up in the office where the coffee maker was not functioning […] and so we had to go to our room to make coffee and eat. (No eating room/facilities were available). No other food or drink items were offered other than coffee or Tea. We couldn't open the window/vent in the bathroom and when I reported it to the front desk he indicated his technician would have to look at it, but in 2 days no one came and opened it or told us about it. The shower door wouldn't close so we had to put a towel on the floor in front of the door. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"in a Green themed vacation, Greenwich Inn fit in"
Apparently Greenwich Inn isn't well known to the airport or taxi drivers bc they all seemed confused by the name and the address and even the cross streets, but they all managed to get us there. We actually arrived a few hours earlier than expected but we were whisked right into a corner upstairs room with 2 double beds. I thought I'd only booked a […] single double and was worried we'd need a rollaway for mom and I. Everything worked out wonderfully including the refrigerator in-room for cold beverages. There is no A/C but as any regular will let you know it's chilly almost all the time; so you'll be fine sliding open the window, venting the wooden blinds, and turning on the in-room fan. There's a small heater available if you get chilly. The beds were very comfortable with lots of cushy pillows. Everything else was as one would expect from a boutique-like hotel with the lamps, desk, chair, nightstand, tv w remote, bathroom, shower, etc... Mom and I were extremely pleased! There are tons of local eateries and bars and grocery stores (like Walgreen's and others). I loved that so many places including public transit were within a few blocks walking distance. Don't forget to try the steak & eggs special at Mel's Diner around the corner; take some quarters for the juke if you do. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

This hotel is older and doesn't feature anything special but if your looking for and affordable place that is centrally located and has access to major thoroughfares and public transportation its perfect. "Horrible, do NOT stay!!!!"
This hotel is in a great location, but the amenities are disgusting. The room was not cleaned, meaning the bed sheets were dirty, the towels were dirty and the floor had stuff all over it. There was no TV service in the room and when the staff promised to fix the problem it took them days and their fix was to just move us to an even worse room. The […] bed's mattress had zero padding in it, we were basically sleeping on springs. We would have switched hotels if there had been any available but every other place we called was booked solid. I picked this place to stay on a whim due to its price and location. When we arrived they did not have the room we reserved it. We needed a room with two beds in it and this only had one. They gave us a second room with only one bed free of charge but it was under renovation could not use the toilet and it was behind the managers apartment I am guessing. The first room wasn't clean, tissues on the floors and all. The second one lost power. "Perfect Midtown Location and FREE PARKING!"
We have stayed at the Greenwich twice in the past two years. Both times we were satisfied for what it is -- a place to go to sleep after a long day sightseeing in SF. The complex is two buildings across the street from each other. Some work was done in recent years on the upper floor of one of the buildings -- not so much on the other. Not to worry […] though -- the beds are good enough, there's a fridge in your room and a market on the corner so you can save some money by buying food to eat when you get in for the day. The best thing about this hotel is the FREE PARKING. Take the buses to where you need to go and save gas and parking money for your whole stay! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
