"Need NEW beds!"
I enjoyed everything about this hotel except the bed. It was very soft and did not have much support. The room was nice and clean. The location is great because the parking is free and the location of the hotel is on a side street rather than on Lombard. The staff was very pleasant and helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nightmare on Steiner Street."
The location was good. The clerk was pleasant enough. The accomodations were terrible. The room and bathroom were very small. We could barely move around. There was no air conditioning and I couldn't figure how to open the window until the last night. The clerk didn't know how to open them either. The price was close to $200.00 a night. Not worth the […] money. Would never go back there again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Disappointing but costly"

"Shabby but comfortable beds and free parking."
We were there during a hot spell in San Francisco. A fan in the room sufficed for air flow. There were a couple of problems, but the staff was attentive and fixed them quickly. The basics were there, including a mini fridge and microwave. Decent location.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Great location hotel in poor condition"
Loved the location to restaurants marina, Golden Gate Bridge. Parking was a plus. Room was small, in poor repair especially bathroom, mattresses blocking walkway were the negatives. Would not book again.Genuine Expedia guest review
Poor hotel, NO A/C, shower for short people, breakfast never arrived... Overal not good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not recommended for business traveler"
The staff were friendly, the outside of the hotel looks generally well kept, and the location in the Marina is very convenient. But the room itself, while seemingly kempt, had a musty odor to it. As well, the furniture was well used/worn that was likely 30+ years old, the toilet seat was worn out with scrape and fade marks on it, the bottom of the sink […] was exposed (unfinished exposed with mfgr. stamp on it, and no vanity below it), and the motel setup (all rooms exposed to outside) feel didn't make feel overly secure there. It got the job done in a pinch (i.e., b/c it was America's Cup week and Oracle Open World week thus all hotels were booked across the city), but I will not go back again on business. If I was just out of college and wanted place to crash after partying in the Marina with my friends - it would work. But outside of that I would not recommend to a business traveler, and would not allow my wife or kids to ever stay there. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Short Stay in SanFrancisco"
The building was old, our room was small and the king bed was queen size. The room and furniture were in poor condition, There was no air conditioning and no fan in the room (had to get one from the office). The Iron leaked and had to be replaced. The continental breakfast was a packaged bun to pick up in the office where the coffee maker was not functioning […] and so we had to go to our room to make coffee and eat. (No eating room/facilities were available). No other food or drink items were offered other than coffee or Tea. We couldn't open the window/vent in the bathroom and when I reported it to the front desk he indicated his technician would have to look at it, but in 2 days no one came and opened it or told us about it. The shower door wouldn't close so we had to put a towel on the floor in front of the door. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"in a Green themed vacation, Greenwich Inn fit in"
Apparently Greenwich Inn isn't well known to the airport or taxi drivers bc they all seemed confused by the name and the address and even the cross streets, but they all managed to get us there. We actually arrived a few hours earlier than expected but we were whisked right into a corner upstairs room with 2 double beds. I thought I'd only booked a […] single double and was worried we'd need a rollaway for mom and I. Everything worked out wonderfully including the refrigerator in-room for cold beverages. There is no A/C but as any regular will let you know it's chilly almost all the time; so you'll be fine sliding open the window, venting the wooden blinds, and turning on the in-room fan. There's a small heater available if you get chilly. The beds were very comfortable with lots of cushy pillows. Everything else was as one would expect from a boutique-like hotel with the lamps, desk, chair, nightstand, tv w remote, bathroom, shower, etc... Mom and I were extremely pleased! There are tons of local eateries and bars and grocery stores (like Walgreen's and others). I loved that so many places including public transit were within a few blocks walking distance. Don't forget to try the steak & eggs special at Mel's Diner around the corner; take some quarters for the juke if you do. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Close to everything"
We drove from LA to San Francisco and we didn't want to use the car in the city, so we stayed at this hotel with free parking, limited though. We didn't move the car at all during the 4 days we stayed. It is close to everything and it is very clean.Genuine Expedia guest review

"great location but you get what you pay for"
This hotel is older and doesn't feature anything special but if your looking for and affordable place that is centrally located and has access to major thoroughfares and public transportation its perfect. The room was clean and the staff helpful. Hint: take a walk along Chester if you return at night and aren't ready for bed...there are some gems!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We knew it was a "budget" hotel.... and it was. No a/c, so the rooms are a bit stuffy. No screens on the windows. The location is great. Lots of restaraunts, etc. About a mile from the Golden Gate bridge (which you can see from the roof - great view. Overall, a good place to stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Horrible, do NOT stay!!!!"
This hotel is in a great location, but the amenities are disgusting. The room was not cleaned, meaning the bed sheets were dirty, the towels were dirty and the floor had stuff all over it. There was no TV service in the room and when the staff promised to fix the problem it took them days and their fix was to just move us to an even worse room. The […] bed's mattress had zero padding in it, we were basically sleeping on springs. We would have switched hotels if there had been any available but every other place we called was booked solid. It really made for a bad experience. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Close to the wharf but you get what you pay for"
I picked this place to stay on a whim due to its price and location. When we arrived they did not have the room we reserved it. We needed a room with two beds in it and this only had one. They gave us a second room with only one bed free of charge but it was under renovation could not use the toilet and it was behind the managers apartment I am guessing. […] It was very loud until almost 130 in the morning. They blamed the website on the booking error they were nice but nice does not make up for the dirty walls or noise so late into the evening on a Tuesday night. "Not worth it."
The first room wasn't clean, tissues on the floors and all. The second one lost power. The building is extremely noisy, bring earplugs, there was some guy peeing on a tree outside someones door when we came back from dinner. Toilet had a hard time flushing and the room in general just felt dirty.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Perfect Midtown Location and FREE PARKING!"
We have stayed at the Greenwich twice in the past two years. Both times we were satisfied for what it is -- a place to go to sleep after a long day sightseeing in SF. The complex is two buildings across the street from each other. Some work was done in recent years on the upper floor of one of the buildings -- not so much on the other. Not to worry […] though -- the beds are good enough, there's a fridge in your room and a market on the corner so you can save some money by buying food to eat when you get in for the day. The best thing about this hotel is the FREE PARKING. Take the buses to where you need to go and save gas and parking money for your whole stay! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Close to everything, easy check-in and -out, good parking. Don't expect the Ritz though.Genuine Expedia guest review
The motel was horrible! It was old and dirty and uncomfortable. There was garbage around the outside. The exterior and the interior needed painting. The "repaired" wall was not completed. The carpet was horribly stained. When we asked for a better room, we were given a smaller one with no tables, and the carpet was still stained. The mattress was old […] and not firm. "A dump in a good location."
Upside: Great central Cow Hollow location. Low price. Downside: dirty bathrooms (feces which had to be wiped off was on the wall next to toilet) , musty linens, and motion sensored lighting (I had to get up several times from bed while reading to engage the lights to work). "Simple, clean, good parking, great location motel"
Simple, basic, very clean motel in excellent location (central and easy to get to from any direction into the city--right off Lombard and Divisidero) with ample parking (important as in San Francisco parking is very expensive and buses are frequent and easy for getting into the financial district or the Embarcadero or wherever). Housekeeping staff was […] helpful and did a fine job cleaning my room. Reception staff was helpful and very friendly. The shower had plenty of pressure and good hot water. It's a good motel for basic needs especially since many people in the city have very small apts/homes and staying with friends overnight is often problematic. This served me as a good retreat after visiting friends and sites during the say and in the evening. I felt quite safe and my requests were met with friendly help over a 4 day stay. Not fancy but a good value (I did not want to get a pricey place just for a few hours of sleep each night!) in a GREAT location in San Francisco (an expensive city). Needless to say, I was quite pleased and will stay again on my next trip. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Nothing fancy but loved the convenience to Clement and Union Streets and bus lines. Good satellite tv, decent shower, and fairly quiet for being near Lombard St. Hard to find less than $100/night in SF. Wd stay there again.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Great Location. Great Value for Money"
This hotel is at very short distances from major attractions of San Francisco: Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman Wharf etc. All major hop-on, hop-off buses stop right in front of this hotel, so your tour will be pretty hassle free. If you are going to San Francisco as a tourist, you should sign up for one of the major hop-on, hop-off bus service. They will […] take you to all the major tourist spots and you won't have to worry about parking. Another great thing about this hotel is that it offers free parking to guests (which is a rarity in downtown San Francisco). I went there with my wife on a 2 night stay as tourist. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel to all the couples who want to enjoy the city and also save some bucks. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We enjoyed it. It did appear to have been maintained better than the last visit. We would like to see an adequate number of hooks and towel racks in the bathrooms, however.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Stayed there memorial day weekend. The room had old carpet that was very dirty, bed sheets were old. The ice machine didnt work and it was a pain just to get clean towels. It is very cheap in price for the location but spend the extra 50 bucks for something better.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Ok for sleeping only"
This is a decent hotel if you will be out and about and just need a place to sleep before taking off in the morning, that's about it. The rooms are small, the wooden shutters allow the sun to come through and wake you up. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The ice machines did not work. I advised the clerk but it's not like he could fix […] it right then and there. The location is close to many venues. We got in after a night on the town at 3 a.m. And left at 10:30 a.m. It was a good place to sleep, shower and take off from. If you want more, look elsewhere. I think we were entitled to a continental breakfast but I didn't even attempt it. I was fine passing up a bagged Danish and juice. Lots if restaurants nearby. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good location and price, but..."
Great area and convenient free parking at a very low price, which is why we booked this hotel. Buildings are old; room was OK but in need of painting, and we could hear the people in the room above walking around . Microwave and fridge were both clean; a little dressing area/table was an unexpected plus. BUT--tiny bathroom, holes in sheets/blankets, […] and the biggest turn-off: a fair amount of black mold on the bathroom walls and in the shower, which is why I would recommend this hotel only to the most budget-conscious. "Very clean, great value -- horrible desk clerk!"
Great maids, quiet room, hot water, well located -- all at a good price . But I Waited 20 minutes and had to call for a desk clerk to appear [Note said gone for"emergency," but showed up with buddies in tow]. He regularly used the handicapped spot; when asked not to said he always did, as did the owner, since "there were no other spaces;" when asked […] what I should do, as a handicapped driver, interrupted me, told me I had nothing to say that would interest him, and walked away. And parked there again the next night. Young, flippant, exceptionally rude. What a shame. Otherwise a truly lovely place. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Marina area hotels"
Get what you pay for. The Marina area lacks newer hotels so there isn't much to choose from except these old motels. It has the advantage of being a block off Lombard, so its quieter than most. But the rooms space heater was so noisy I had to turn it off, wh. I might have given it a 2.5 if possible as the price is a plus.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Do not stay there"
This is the worst I have ever stayed. The heating system sounds like an engine for racing car. I had a dreadful sleep, keeping being woken up by the sound. The smell in the room tells how old it is.Genuine Expedia guest review

"A pleasing hotel for everyone!"
I stayed in this place for 25 long days while I'm searching for a job bec. I moved here in San Francisco from other State. My whole experience was favorable enough to recommend this place to anyone who are looking for a safe and affordable place to stay, people who are vacationing, on a business trip, a student or people who are working. Ofcourse, you […] can't compare this to a bigger hotel environment with great amenities/features. Truthfully, I feel comfortable enough to stay here for such a long time and I just feel I'm not away from home. The entire place was well maintained though the place is quite old with a little smell inside the room but it doesn't matter with me. The bathroom looks clean and in order which is my favorite place in this hotel. Most of the staff are helpful and they're willing to help if you ask for assistance. The location of the hotel is perfect for everyone who wants to explore the City, the place is close to most of the tourist area, shopping places, restaurants, etc. and its safe and quiet at night.
