"Good room, horrible service"
I made the reservation and paid for it online through Hotels.com . My husband is the one that got to Comfort Inn first, so he checked in. The gal that checked him in was a new employee on a Saturday night. She ended up charging his credit card TWICE on top of the charge that we had through Hotels.com. She had to wait for the manager to come in for the […] night to do anything. After several hours we received a call up to the room to tell us that the charges had been reversed. We didn't receive any confirmation of this happening. Almost a week later and all that's showing through our online banking are the two additional debits from Comfort Inn, plus the Hotels.com charge. There is NOT a credit showing. When my husband called, he had to wait for the general manager to call him back. When this woman finally did call, she was rude, hateful and no help at all. It wasn't the mix up that happened that made it so we never go back. It is the way the GM treated my husband on the phone. She was sure to imply that they didn't need our business anyway. Aside from being charged THREE times for the room, their ice machines didn't work, the floors at the breakfast area were sticky and we were treated with disrespect. It's unfortunate because we thought it was a convenient location for a one night get away for the two of us. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great location on Windward"
Convenient to local businesses and shopping.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I had to stay at this hotel because of the weather, Atlanta snowstorm!! It was a nice hotel, but the bed was a little too hard. I was sore for a couple days afterward.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice room. The stairway was very dirty. I stayed Mon to Fri and the same clumps of mud and dirt were in the hallway all week. Otherwise you can tell things are new and remodeled. I would stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great place to stay!!!!"

My family and I wanted to get away from our house for just 1 night. We found this hotel, it had great reviews, and it was near by. Although, it had a few small (very small) kinks, you will not be disappointed if you stay here. It was clean, staff was friendly, and the breakfast was tasty. In my opinion this hotel was much better than some of the other expensive hotels in the very same area.
"Much better than expected"

The renovations to this hotel made it a great place to stay. There are many restaurants within walking distance. The hotel is very accessible to Georgia Interstate 400. I highly recommend this location.

We are Priority Club members and we had stayed at Holiday Inn in Alpharetta before but it must not have been this one. We stayed here because we were going to the ballgame and then going on to Helen, GA. We road MARTA into the Georgia Dome and this community is very nice and safe. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful but the hotel was one of the lower end Holiday Inn. The room smelled funny and needed updating. The price was great though, but you get what you pay for. I would stay here again, but only if the other one was booked up.
"Clean, comfortable room"

I had a good experience here. Clean, comfortable room, and friendly staff. There's a Walgreen's within walking distance - a great thing if you're on a business trip and someone else has the rental car.

Our family stayed overnight on our way to Orlando. The staff at the hotel was very accommodating, however, the hotel is in need of some remodeling. The bathroom was very dingy, and while I think it was clean, it needed some updating or renovating to be able to tell the difference. It was packed that evening, but was very quiet, and it was not busy in the breakfast area the next morning when we ate. Breakfast was standard fare for continental style, and we were glad to have it! Overall, it was not a bad experience, and we would probably stay again.
"Great staff, but the hotel needs a little updating."

My husband and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express for two weeks while house hunting. The hotel is in a great location and easy access to lots of restaurants and shops. The hotel was clean, but needs some updating. The king bed was comfortable, but nothing above and beyond. The price was excellent and the staff was great. They were all very friendly and responded to any need and/or issue we had during our stay. An added bonus was having access to the LA fitness across the street.

We needed a hotel to stay at and holiday Inn Express was recommended to us. Our check in was excellent. We were so tired and had a great nap on the comfty bed. When we decided to check out the man at the counter was very polite and knowledgable of the surrounding area.
"Unexpected snafus but overall good"

Check-in was not especially welcoming, and the card key to our 4th-floor room wouldn't work. It was back down to the desk to have key rescanned (no apology given). The 2-queen bed room I had reserved turned out to be a king with a sofabed. Then it was back down to the desk a second time (I should have phoned instead), only to be told the hotel had no double rooms left. I realize these things happen and I would have understood had I been a walk-in, but being a Priority Club member who had made this 2-night reservation months ahead, I found this very odd. Then it was back up to the room only to discover the sofabed was not made up and there were no bed linens provided. A phone call resulted in a very pleasant employee delivering what we needed in a matter of minutes. The morning desk staff corrected the room problem for the following night and we were fine after that. Overall this is a fine hotel, up to the usual HIExpress standards, very comfortable and thankfully quiet. Everything was clean and attractive, although the bath areas could use some sprucing up. Handy location if you need to be north of Atlanta.
"Clean & Convenient"

Met friends in Alpharetta so had a short stay (one night) at this location. Was clean, staff very nice. Third floor room 3 down from elevators was quiet - facing Windward Pkwy but could hear no traffic. Complimentary breakfast is light and not the full bfast some locations offer. But it suited our purposes. Only complaint is the Virginia Tech Lacrosse Team stayed there and they were ridiculously noisy until 3:30 am. When booking, ask if any big groups (esp college boys) are staying there. We show horses in the area and would definitely stay here again.
"Have stayed at better HIE Properties..."

Was on business in Alpharetta, and it apparently was a very busy week for hotels in the area, as there were only a few options available. I thought that this Holiday Inn Express would be like the others I've stayed in (newly renovated, clean and fresh with upper scale furnishings). This one was a much older property; wallpaper in the room & bathroom was tired and peeling, microwave oven was a 1970's vintage, floors were not exactly barefoot friendly, and the worst thing was the acrid smell in the hallway (3rd floor). (It smelled like they tried to steam clean the carpeting in the hallway, but it made it smell worse instead of clean). My room also smelled like a former smoking room, and it was if they had tried a little febreeze to mask the smoke odor...well, it just wasn't a smell that I'd like to remember. Perhaps I had a bad floor, but this property compares poorly to other HIE's I've stayed in (Charleston, SC, Orlando, FL, Hamburg, NY, Atlantic City, NJ, and Herndon, VA). Sorry HIE, I can't really stay at your Alpharetta on Windward property anymore. I would vot to put this one on the shortlist to refresh/renovate.
