"clean, contemporary hotel with friendly staff"
cool contemporary hotel in convenient part of downtown. rooms were super clean and comfortable. staff were really nice; my coffee machine didn't work in the morning, and the girl at the front desk actually went out and got me a coffee within 10 minutes!--at no charge. it would be nice if there were a mini-bar and actual bath products i/o dispensers--those […] seem not up to the standard of the rooms' decor. Nicely furnished room. Very clean. Easy access off Morrison bridge and parking. Handy to down town federal buildings etc. Room breakfast very reasonable and very good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
City tram to the airport 1/2 Block a wayGenuine Hotels.com guest review
My group of 17 stayed here recently and we loved the amenities. We used the complimentary bikes to get around the downtown area and cruised the waterfront that was right across the street. Parking is the most affordable in the city for a low low $15 per night and $20 for valet. My room was next to the gym and we definitely put their equipment to use […] after all of the gluttony from the food carts only blocks. The staff was young, laid back and accomdating Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Clean, updated, good location."
The rooms were clean and updated and the staff was friendly. The light rail was close which made it really nice to get to and from the airport but they were a little loud at night. Overall it is was a good experience.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Downtown Portland Hotel"
Good stuff and great location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Enjoyed the room. Hopefully, next time we will be able to enjoy a river view. That would be awesome.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel staff were amazingly helpful! From early check in to recommending a fntastic dinner restaurant, our needs were met! The hotel was away from the nightlife we were looking for, and had some loud airplanes flying at all hours. The room was beautiful, breakfast was great and overall we were satisfied with the value for our dollarGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"It's okay. Not a stellar hotel, but it's fine."
Staff were great, but the hotel is just old and tired. It's been revamped, but there are better places to stay in PDX.Genuine Expedia guest review
Internet did not work. Lobby was under construction. Everything else was great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to city, public transit, and river"
Good, clean, hotel, friendly desk staff. Really liked the dispensers in bathroom for shampoo, soap, and body wash. Don't like all those small bottles hanging around. Tub and Bathroom were very clean. Trolley for city and airport go right by the hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very convenient to downtown"
Nice hotel with a very friendly helpful staff. Would definitely use again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location in a great city"
The Hotel Rose is in a beautiful location across the street from a large park fronting the Willamette river. Portland has fantastic, clean and efficient public transportation and EVERYBODY uses it. The red MAX line runs all the way from the airport and right to the hotel and you can get alomost anywhere in the city for 5$ a day. We rented a car for […] this trip, but when we go back, we're taking the MAX. Parking charges at the hotel are par for a city, but there's no need to use valet parking. Self parking is underground a few steps from the door. The hotel rooms are a little small, but well appointed and clean, Very comfortable bed and unique, roomy shower. The staff was informal and very friendly. Just a very comfortable stay...We'll definitely be back! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location downtown"
We spent a night on our way back to Tacoma, and the hotel was a nice place to land. Like others noted, the location relative to the food trucks, access to mass transit, and ease off the freeway made it a great stop for us. The room was clean and comfortable, and the complimentary breakfast was extensive (although breakfast elsewhere in Portland is tough […] to pass up). Only thing I would recommend is to ask for a room not facing the street (it was a little noisy Saturday morning). Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
When we went to breakfast. A pone return the maids had already started cleaning are room. We we not quit ready for that. So we checked out. I left feeling like I didn't get to have the hole experience.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great stay. Excellent and friendly staff. The rooms were remarkable overall and unlike any other one.Genuine Expedia guest review
Even though the weather closed down all of Portland, the staff was friendly and efficient. Appreciated the smiles- some folks worked for two days straight. We went out on Friday early and returned later (around 2:30pm) and the room hadn't been cleaned. The cleaning person did arrive around 2:45 and did work around us but it would have been nice to come […] back to a clean room. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. "Great hotel, very nice front desk people!"
Stayed here for the first time in Portland. I was very pleased with the service of this hotel along with the room. It is also located to Nordstrom Rack and other stores in walking […] distance. I wasn't able to go near the water but that was also very close. "AC/Heater not working"
The hotel is in a great location, but you couldn't control the temperature. It'll be hot then ice cold off and on, we would wake up sweating. Needless to say I left Portland sick.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Cute and Convenient"
Newly renovated hotel with all the creature comforts and thoughtful amenities. Spa like toiletries and plush robes. They offer small daily treats like mini cupcakes and the on site restaurant is a delight. "Good trip, with a few minor hiccups"
The personnel were great. Our room heat wouldn't turn off, our room was literally 80 degrees, the front desk was helpful in remedying the situation, but not sure I would have figured it out without calling. Might want to put something in the rooms to that effect. Our room did not get made up, and we were gone for 8 hours. We even came back, discovered […] it wasn't done, and left again, so it could be done. Finally we had to put the do not disturb sign out, so we could get ready for our event. It was around 4:30 or 5:00 pm. They probably came by then. The hotel is located by a park, the river, and lots of good downtown stuff. Very easy to get in and out of, without hassling with traffic. We stayed at Hotel Rose on a "BabyMoon," before our baby is due soon. It was nice to be so close to downtown. Parking was easy and it is very close to a bridge to head into the eastern part of the city as well. We walked to breakfast and dinner and on our last morning, enjoyed breakfast in the hotel bistro.Genuine Expedia guest review
"The place to stay in downtown Portland"
Great hotel, nice remodeled rooms, not large, but very nicely appointed and comfortable. Excellent location at the corner of Morrison and Naito, so easy access to downtown via rail or walking (there's a rail stop a half a block away) and the Morrison Street Bridge to get across the river. Staff and housekeeping was very professional & friendly, will […] definitely be staying there again when in Portland. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great Place to Stay"
My son and her boyfriend were on a road trip and I reserved a room for them through hotels.com. They arrived a day early and the hotel staff was wonderful. Hotel 50 is very comfortable and has changed over the years for the better! Rooms are spacious and the beds are very compforatble. Also, the location can't be beat. What's not to like about being next to the river, the park, the lightrail and within walking distance to downtown? I have stayed at this location over the better part of the last 11-years. […] Though, the stays have not been very frequent, I have seen this hotel transform into the 'Jewel of Portland' that it is today. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Pretty solid hotel"
The hotel was nice. The location was convenient for walking around downtown and the price was reasonable given the location. There was a restaurant/bar downstairs that was very nice and the food was pretty good. I had steak and it wasn't bad. Prices are so-so. The staff was really nice and courteous, and I really can't say anything negative about them. […] Everything was clean and the bed was VERY comfortable. The one BAD was that they charged for parking which seemed petty to me, and should have been part of the nightly rate. I didn't appreciate having to pay to park. Overall I would say it was a good stay!! I would stay again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

If you're looking for a great place to stay in downtown Portland, the Hotel Rose is a Great location! Was disappointed in their most standard room for the price. Tight squeeze the bed was right next to the bathroom. Asked for late check out the day before and was told there was a request put in for me but on the day of checkout I was given the statement that all the late checkouts had already been given out. It was New Years Day and a later checkout […] would have been greatly appreciated. The rooms need to be remodeled. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Convenient, clean and friendly"
Staff was great all the way from the front desk through valet parking! The room was clean and well appointed with a nice view of the waterfront park and Columbia River.Genuine Expedia guest review
Hotel was ok, there was construction outside and we were not told about it, it would have been nice if they offered a room in the back of the building but they didn't say anything, the noise was very loud before 7am. And we were not told that there was going to be a charge for parking.Genuine Expedia guest review
My overall experience with was good. The staff was very friendly and the rooms were comfortable.Genuine Expedia guest review
Overall, the room was pretty good for the price and location. There was some construction right outside so it was a bit hard to find the parking lot the first time around.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"excellent stay, parking...eh"
The hotel was fabulous...very comfy bed, quiet rooms, shower was grand! They even put soap and conditioners in dispensers instead of those cheesy little bottles. Just a couple complaints...road construction made it extremely difficult to navigate their garage as it was not well marked during the construction...also they charge $15 per car for self park […] and $20 for valet. I think this should be disclosed up front on the description. Maybe it is and I didnt see it? Either way...rather steep when i can go to the smart park 1 block down and pay half that. I mean it IS right downtown. And there is no incentive to park in their garage (security or otherwise) other than that...great place! Retro, yet modernized! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Downtown charm, friendly staff, great food!"
The hotel is only a short block away from the nearest MAX station which is really convenient, and does have a parking garage if you're visiting with a vehicle. The remodel hasn't started yet, but it doesn't matter - the 1950's modern approach to decor is trendy and cute. The restaurant has the best steak dinner I've had in years. I got a room on the […] city view side, but I would suggest picking one facing the river instead. The bed was comfy, blankets were plenty and thick, and the ipod docking radio/clock was definitely a bonus. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The location was a strong factor in my staying there. I especially liked the Max line being around the corner. The decor is very modern and too austere for my taste, but my room was clean. There was a view of the parking lot from my window. My first impression as I got off the elevator to walk to my room was that the hall carpet was not vacuumed clean […] and it made me wonder if my room was that dirty, which it wasn't. "great, but construction just outside the room"
as stated, the hotel was great, aside from the construction going on just outside my room. i assume that is temporary, so it should quiet down a bit. i had no problems sleeping, and was there for work, so was awake before any of the construction could bother me.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great location to Downtown Portland"
Two blocks from a train stop (which I took from the airport) and easy to walk around downtown Portland. Although having the trains run from 4am -midnight, there is a little bit of noise if you are on that side of the hotel. But the staff was excellent, and the hotel was very new and clean.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
