"Good Location, but hotel needs work"
We arrived late on a Friday night, staying two nights. The lobby is being renovated, which we were not told about before we arrived, so there was no floor and the restaurant was closed, so no food/bar. The walls are incredibly thin at this hotel, so even on the top floor we could hear a lot of street noise, along with the couple next door (if you know […] what I mean). I asked for an updgraded room, but all they gave me was a regular room with a King bed, instead of two fulls. Clean enough, but small, and the furniture needs to be replaced (damaged, dirty). I don't think I'll stay here again, and I'm suprised that Expedia made this a VIP hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Unique character and pleasant stay."
Loved it. Relaxed, easy access to great places and very friendly staff. Will stay again.Genuine Expedia guest review
Great little hotel. Super close to everything we needed. Right on Max Line - so a little lound initially but we got used to it after the first night. Parking garage is not very tall so if you have a SUV you might want to consider valet parking - or just get a parking spot in the garage close to the street.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice little boutique hotel within walking distance of the core of downtown. The lobby and restaurant were torn up and under major construction so the restaurant had limited hours and so did room service. The room was nice and the bed was very comfortable. The bedside tables have glass tops (common) but one side was not cleaned properly. If there is […] one thing that grosses me out it is when the cleaning staff does not clean the surfaces. Once they get the lobby done it has potential as long as the cleaning staff improves and the front desk and door folks are less catatonic. Keeping it weird is one thing. But they could stand for a bit less weird and a bit more clean and lively. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great location and modern hotel"
I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It's right across the street from Tom McCall park. Within walking distance to all restaurants and bars. The staff was really friendly. Although it is still undergoing construction, it is still a great looking hotel. Definitely cannot wait to come back when the renovations are complete, it looks amazing so far. […] The room has a mini fridge and a coffee maker! They have an adorable complimentary umbrella that you can use during your stay. Definitely a great item for people that have never visited portland and wasn't prepared for all the rain. Bathroom was beautiful and clean with a rainfall shower head. Overall I had a great experience, I have zero complaints :) Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel in Downtown Area"
Currently the hotel is going through some renovations, and in a couple of months it will probably be A+ hotel. The open glass shower situation was something to get used to. Also, I prefer a bar of soap rather than the body wash that was attached to the wall like if I were taking a shower at the gym. Last thing, our hotel room was facing the TriMet tracks […] so any time they carts passed by you heard/felt it. But that is neither here nor there. I would recommend people to come and visit this nice hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice stay in the Rose District of Portland"
We enjoyed Hotel Rose - comfy bed, clean and contemporary. Great service from the staff, all of whom were very friendly. Excellent location, except that our balcony looked out over a busy street and bridge. But we were happy to have the balcony. Our complaint was with the neighbors who shared a wall with us and their children... but I'm sure you won't […] have that problem! They were also renovating their restaurant/lounge. "The Squeaky Wheels Need Grease"
Overall, it was just ok. There were a couple things that were disappointing. The entire lobby/bar was torn up for renovations, which wasn't made clear before reservations were made. That was pretty minor since we were out on the town the entire time they were working on it. The thing that gets Hotel Rose a Cat.1 (bad) rating for condition/Maintenance […] is the elevator door wheels loudly squeaked any time the doors opened or closed...EVERY TIME. All night long this happened and we were less than 30 feet from that awful sound. I can't imagine what people who were given rooms closer thought. Fix the elevator doors and it would be worth staying here. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel to visit downtown Portland"
We have stayed in Portland before, in the general area, so we wanted to stay in that area again. The rate was very reasonable and the parking was inexpensive (20/night for valet). But we never used our car, we walked everywhere, its a great central location. They were doing work on the restaurant, but it didn't disturb our experience. Our room was nice […] and on the Naito Parkway side, so it was a bit loud, although my travelling companions had no issues with the noise. The staff was very helpful and considerate. It was a great visit. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"2.5 Star hotel at 4 star prices"
The Rose was a real disappointment for me. The location is great but the hotel does not match up to that. While the hotel was not nearly full they put me in a room facing the parking lot and a 5 story grey wall. There were many vacant rooms facing the river. The hotel restaurant is closed for renovation. The bar is open evenings but does not have food […] available. They did provide room service (with a 18% tip AND a $3.00 service charge). There is no business center or computer available to guests. There are no real amenities. The lobby is as sterile as a hospital waiting room. On my third day they did not make up my room until I returned at 4:00 PM and called for service. I would not stay at The Rose again! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
We were able to get everywhere from here including airport which has a train stop a block away. Beautiful riverfront across the street and hotel rooms great with Wifi and large TV. Perfect spot for business or leisure.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"All That and More..."
Coming to a new city for the first time, it's not always easy to choose a hotel that will suit all your needs (and be affordable while delivering perks...) It often depends on what you want out of an experience, and for my maiden voyage to Portland I wanted to be in the heart of the city while enjoying a boutique hotel without the pretense (yet with […] as much comfort as possible). The Hotel Rose delivered––not just comfort and convenience––but also great service AND it came with an adorable yellow beach cruiser! The Hotel Rose was the perfect choice for me: right on the waterfront and close to everything, a comfortable room with delicious king bed, an upgraded bathroom, plentiful yummy-smelling toiletries, those little coffee-pod-things, and comfy bath robes... Can I just say that the pineapple mini-cupcakes with coffee upon check-in were a delightful added bonus? Call me a sucker, but a sweet, lovely treat just adds that something, that...happy place. If you want an easy place to stay, with a friendly, helpful staff, and small perks that add to comfort and happiness, stay at the Hotel Rose. You'll have all that and more... (though, in my opinion, they should rename it "The Happy Pineapple." Just saying...) Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
We wanted a quick get away in Portland. Our room faced the train, so it was loud late into the evening and early in the morning. Also, the shower doesn't have a "door" like most do, so you end up getting water all over the floor. This was just poor construction. The hotel was being renovated during our stay. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable […] about their suggestions on places to eat, driving directions, etc. A little pricey for what you get, our maid service was "forgotten" our second day, which meant we didn't get a refill on our coffee for the morning. Not a huge deal, but still a little annoying. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Clean and clean..."
This was by far the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in bar none... There werent even water spots on the shower head. Seriously, seriously clean and tidy.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location, ridiculously comfortable beds"
The front desk staff was very helpful with suggestions for how to get around town and where to go. It is right on the water, too. No complaints here.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Downtown Location"
The staff was extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. I would definitely stay here again. The lounge/restaurant is under construction during the day - so it's not open until evening. You do hear construction sounds during the day time hours. I was on the 4th floor, and I wasn't in my room much during the day, so it wasn't a big problem.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It was my sister's first time in Portland, and I wanted her to see the city/downtown. The location is perfect! The rooms are a bit small, so I advise to absolutely book 2 beds if you have company. Shampoos, conditioners, and lotions were all on dispensers--very economical and environment friendly. The staff was excellent! Friendly and courteous--day […] or night, which was amazing! This hotel is close to the Portland Spirit Cruise docking station. Thank you, Hotel Rose. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Great location. Hotel Rose or as the cabbie called it, hotel fifty, is across the street from the riverside park and the city tram rails. The complimentary bicycles were a pleasant surprise for an early spring and sunny March day. Probably the most comfortable bed anywhere away from home. We will return here next time visiting Portland.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The Hotel Rose is located on the semi-outskirts of what's going on, near the downtown region. If you know Portland, you know semi is like a 10 minute walk in a safe location and bam you are in some of the happening spots. The staff were quite friendly and mostly helpful. The room was a little cold, and although they said they turned the heat on, I suspected […] it didn't happen. The beds are upscale Beautyrest Black mattresses, and super comfy. The room was clean and very up to date, parking was easy, if a charge on top of the room. I had a river view, and really enjoyed my stay. While other places may be 5 minutes closer to bars, and what not, this was a quieter part of downtown. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great location, but can be loud"
This hotel has a GREAT location- we were able to walk almost everywhere! It's right next to the MAX so you can easily arrive here from the airport, too. The only downside was the fact that it can get a little loud when facing the river...but only on the Friday night we stayed here. Saturday and Sunday quiet down significantly with less road noise. Otherwise, […] the staff was great, the bed was beyond comfortable and all-in-all, we had a great stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Hotel Rose -What's NOT to Love?"
Friendly, competent, energetic staff. Comfortable, modern, tasteful room. Complimentary bikes, robes, cupcakes. Located right on the river and the light rail line. We loved this hotel! We will definitely use Pineapple Hospitality again, either in Portland or Seattle.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Comfortable and convenient"
The hotel was in a very convenient location for my purposes of attending a conference and visiting nearby restaurants and shops. The room was very comfortable and the hotel itself was stylish. My only concern was hearing the light rail early in the morning. If you are a light sleeper, this may disturb.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The people at front desk were very friendly and courteous. The room was very clean, and it had Keurig coffee maker and a fridge. The location was great. Just off of the light rail line and close to the restaurants and shops in downtown.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Well worth the $."
The hotel was going through renovations so but that was the only (sort of) negative thing. Great location and easy to go to many cool parts of downtown Portland--including both business and pleasure sites.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very good downtown location"
Even though the downstairs bar and restaurant were being renovated during the day, they were always open in the evening. Spotlessly clean, very helpful staff, and a good ambiance. I would pick this hotel again if I were going to be in Portland.Genuine Expedia guest review
Though we didn't take advantage of all the amenities, in particular the free bicycles, that was fine. The hotel's located on the Willamette River. What with the outstanding weather -- we had lots of sun and balmy 60º/70ºF temperatures --, we walked everywhere: 15 minutes to the Pearl District, ample bridge crossings to east-side dining, close to the […] city center, 10 minutes to the Portland Museum of Art, and less than a block from the tram stop in the Yamhill district from AND to the airport. "Location and Comfort"
Rented the hotel room for my college student and her friends. They had a great time, location was ideal, view from the room was not so great, but they didn't care. Staff was accommodating. The hotel room had been renovated which was nice. I would recommend.Genuine Expedia guest review
It was just okay. The valet parking guy asked if we had stayed there before and I said no. He asked if we wanted the car parked and I said yes but he didn't tell me there was a charge for that and I found out the next morning when I got a bill. They waived the charge at check out. The lounge was under construction and was cold so a heater might be helpful. […] The window in the room was broke so cold air came through. The lady serving us dinner and drinks in the lounge was very nice. I was a little disappointed for the price. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not Worth the Money"
While the location of the hotel was perfect - right on the edge of downtown, the accommodations weren't worth the money. Poor workmanship, thin walls, little space, and heat that couldn't be adjusted. The room was way too warm. The windows opened (thank goodness), but then I had to deal with the noise of downtown - and the tram line. On the plus side, […] the staff was nice and friendly, and the valet parking was relatively inexpensive and quick. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

cool contemporary hotel in convenient part of downtown. rooms were super clean and comfortable. staff were really nice; my coffee machine didn't work in the morning, and the girl at the front desk actually went out and got me a coffee within 10 minutes!--at no charge. it would be nice if there were a mini-bar and actual bath products i/o dispensers--those […] seem not up to the standard of the rooms' decor. My group of 17 stayed here recently and we loved the amenities. We used the complimentary bikes to get around the downtown area and cruised the waterfront that was right across the street. Parking is the most affordable in the city for a low low $15 per night and $20 for valet. The hotel staff were amazingly helpful! From early check in to recommending a fntastic dinner restaurant, our needs were met! "Great location in a great city"
The Hotel Rose is in a beautiful location across the street from a large park fronting the Willamette river. Portland has fantastic, clean and efficient public transportation and EVERYBODY uses it. The red MAX line runs all the way from the airport and right to the hotel and you can get alomost anywhere in the city for 5$ a day. We rented a car for […] this trip, but when we go back, we're taking the MAX. Parking charges at the hotel are par for a city, but there's no need to use valet parking. Self parking is underground a few steps from the door. The hotel rooms are a little small, but well appointed and clean, Very comfortable bed and unique, roomy shower. The staff was informal and very friendly. Just a very comfortable stay...We'll definitely be back! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location downtown"
We spent a night on our way back to Tacoma, and the hotel was a nice place to land. Like others noted, the location relative to the food trucks, access to mass transit, and ease off the freeway made it a great stop for us. Only thing I would recommend is to ask for a room not facing the street (it was a little noisy Saturday morning). Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
