I was hesitant to stay at the Fitz again because our first time was horrible. The room's carpet was soaking wet and musty, molding smelling and there were no other rooms available. We went again because of the low price and it was a big difference this time. The room was clean and in good condition. The room seemed dark but I would stay again.

Not bad for such a low price, but if I were going back I'd pay a little more for a nicer hotel on the strip. Asked for a nonsmoking room with king bed; got a very smoky room with two doubles. Staff is not rude, but not friendly either. Lots of noise from Fremont Street Experience. Parking was very easy and felt secure (who would climb up to the 8th floor of the garage to damage your car?).

I read the previous reviews after I made my reservations and contemplated some delay in the elevator service, but there was no delay in the elevator service. The elevators in fact were very prompt. The prices for the stay were good, especially staying on a friday and saturday. The staff were friendly and very hospitable. No complaints

I booked a super cheap rate months ago at hotels.com and thought about changing to a better hotel many times as the date of our trip approached. In the end I stuck with my Fitzgeralds reservation with the thought that the money saved would be used for food and games. Now home after 4 nights in LV, I'm having a hard time deciding if I can recommend the Fitz even for the low, low nightly rate. Our room was on a floor that had been remodeled recently. Well, the halls had been remodeled and looked very nice. Seeing that, I was really optimistic about the place until I opened the door to our room. Our guest room had 2 double beds, an armoire, dresser and a nightstand. The "wooden" furniture looked a little like the kind of thing you buy at Target and put together. Not bad, but fairly cheap looking. The beds were on the low end of acceptability. The TV had a decent selection of channels and good picture. The bathtub faucet leaked continuously and the whole bathroom looked a little worn. The A/C worked fine but was a little loud. The overall effect of the room was one of advancing age and wear. One of my biggest concerns was the elevators. I had heard of a history of long delays waiting for an elevator and how this was now less of a problem since some of the elevators had been replaced, I'm sorry to say that it is still a problem when the hotel gets busy. Sunday morning I waited 15 minutes for a down elevator before giving up and taking an up elevator and riding back down. That is really unacceptable. I had a quick breakfast at the Fitzgeralds' McDonalds but other than that most of our meals were at nearby hotels with better buffets. Everyone I met at the Fitz who talked about the condition of the hotel said something like "well, for the money it's okay." Personally, if I had it to do over again I'd spend another $10 -15 a night for a little better hotel downtown. For that I'd get a better bed, elevators that worked and in hotel restaurants that I am willing to eat i

I've stayed at a different hotel in downtown Las Vegas before I stayed at The Fitzgeralds and compare to the other hotel, I was very disappointed. Very noisy all night on street and I could barely sleep. Front desk charged my card for $50 without acknowledging me that was for just a security deposit so I wasted my time calling hotels.com and the hotel check in counter to find out why I was getting charge on my card after I already prepaid.

When we got there, they almost did not have two non-smoking rooms on the same floor, but accomadated us but we were not together and too far from the elevator so we went down that day and asked if we could be moved the next day which they did and gave us adjoining rooms, down on another floor as some occupants had left that day. So I feel they tried to make us comfortable and accomodate what we had asked for when we made the reservations, so all in all we had a good stay and have always liked staying at the Fitz.
