Was here for a cheerleading competition. The part of the hotel we were in was very dated, needing a lot of updates. For the price we paid I expected so much more. The breakfast was nothing to brag about and the only restaurant in the hotel was awful food wise. The staff was great but that could of been because we were the only ones there at 6 pm on […] a Friday night. Also at the end we were informed that we had to pay an extra amount because we left our car there for 2 extra hours even though we paid $35/night and since we stayed Friday, Saturday and left Sunday so we paid for 3 nights and didn't stay 3 nights it was ridiculous that we paid more. I booked this room for a bachelor party weekend with 6 of my closest friends. Never been to the Embassy before but was very happy with everything about it. Location was perfect, room was a good party size (even with 6 people), and not a single noise complaint. Very readonably priced. We'd all definitely do it the same way again.

The room barely fit 1 Double bed. Outlets didn't work. You could hear everything the rooms next to you were saying when they weren't even being loud. No assistance in regards to customer service.

This was a great Hotel for my family of 5! The suite was plenty roomy enough and the breakfast and evening happy hour were spot on! The line for beverages during happy hour were a little long at the bar, but that was no big deal. We thouroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back again! The staff was great!

When we checked in we were lead to believe it did not matter what type of room we had, but as it turned out, the one we were assigned could not accomodate a rollaway bed - which was needed. Breakfast had some issues as well - cups were not available for a long period of time. I have stayed at an Embassy Suites before and I loved the experience. I thought this would be similar. Well, it was not advertised that I would have to pay $30 for parking for one night. And the one night that we were there the fire alarms went off in the middle of the night for a good 20 min. It was a false alarm, but when I asked them how they were […] going to make my experience better they said they couldn't do anything. They said that it was not their fault that the alarms went off. The only negative I have is that the queen sofa sleeper had not been put away properly so the side braces were bowed out and did not sit right. I was grateful that the alarm that was sounded on Saturday night of our stay was loud and the voice was easily understandable.

The only thing good about this hotel is the location. It is in the center of everything, with plenty to do within walking distance. I have stayed with Embassy all over the country, and what a disappointment this place was. The hotel is very old and the rooms were the smallest rooms I have ever stayed in. The valet was busy and we had to wait 30 minutes […] to get out car. The valet lot is 15 miles away. Checkout took us another 30 minutes. Overall it was a nice stay. Very large and comfortable rooms. The rooms were clean, the staff friendly, and hotel staff able to keep our luggage (we had 10 pieces) in a secure room as we explored New Orleans on both ends of our cruise with Royal Caribbean.

Booked for overnight before a cruise. Thought would be most convenient. NOT! Hotel did not warn that Mardi Gras in N.O. starts early... Blindsided by traffic and the entire city was essentially closed to car traffic. Seemed all parades go down St. Charles which walled off this hotel from the interstate. Hotel did refund parking after a minor stink was […] made (had to park blocks away in event parking then repark after the parades getting into the room with bags at MIDNIGHT (arrived in town at 3pm...). Room was OK, hotel needs some updating. Breakfast buffet was uninspired. For a hotel within spitting distance of the cruise terminal we should have stayed out in Slidell or Kenner instead... Was very happy with our stay in New Orleans. The hotel is about 4 blocks from Canal Street and only 2 block from the Riverwalk. Very safe streets to walk to and from Broubon Street. The unlimated breakfast & happy hour is worth the little extra money you might spend on the hotel. I love the Embassy Suites and I stay here wherever I go. This particular Embassy was the worst (as far as looks) that I have stayed at, but its only because its in New Orleans and everything there looks more ancient, which I am not use to. But who can beat a break breakfast (made to order omelettes) and a Manager's Reception (basically complimentary […] drinks from 5:30-7:30pm). The room and restrooms were pretty clean but the headboard/night stand was a little out dated. I was a light old school wood and the dresser that the flat screen TV was on was the modern up to date wood. So that didn't match at all. Also, since it was my first time in New Orleans and my friend had been there about 5 times, she said it was the BEST HOTEL she has stayed in since she has been going there. So I guess thats a plus. The service was wonderful. Everyone we encountered at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The only down side was being put in the Loft. The room was wonderful but breakfast was served in the main hotel. WIFI shouldn't have a charge to it.

Initial room was dank, dirty and had no working heater (temp below freezing at night). I had an external room and had to use towels to block cold air rushing under the door. They were quite polite in responding to my concern but the room was totally below expectation for the brand and price. Room service took over 1 1/2 hours due to short staffing (only […] two people assigned to take & deliver orders). The second room was much better but carpet was still musty and walls grimy. Location convenient to convention center but some dark and lonely streets between hotel and major tourist areas; would not recommend for a woman traveling alone. Buffet breakfast included eggs to order; food was better than some other complimentary hotel buffets. In the end management offered to try to refund a portion of my costs, but only at my request. We found the location of the Hotel to be good. It was about a 10 or 15 minute walk to Bourbon Street. But there were other restaurants and attractions that were close to us. The hot breakfast was decent, but crowded. It was hard to find a seat at times, and the wait for cooked to order omelets was long. The soda's were flat, and they were not quick […] to change out the soda concentrate when it went empty. We had a few drinks at managers reception, but they kept soda area locked up so kids had to wait in long lines to get a coke. The room was uncomfortably hot. We called maintenance, and they said that the AC was working fine, I had to disagree. Like others had said before, it is older and not as modern as other Embassy Suites. Beware that if you book through Hotels,com, and have more than 4 people, they will add fees for the extra people. So the price will be more than quoted. Read more

The entrance to valet parking is not clearly defined from the adjoining streets. The hotel is in two buildings: the main newer building and an older, distant building called the Lofts. One has to carry his luggage on the sidewalk to the lofts. The prettier newer building has the Atrium where breakfast is served so every morning one has to walk on the […] street to the Atrium to have breakfast. When we checked in, we noticed that one of the beds had what looked like rat dropping on it - and I mean a lot of them !!!!. The room was cold and the heater not working. It smelled like something awful. Not a good start to a long awaited vacation. The front desk promptly moved us to another identical room which was somewhat better. However, the toilet was clogged and did not work. It was fixed in about an hour. The breakfast, after walking in the cold to the Atrium was pathetic. Hundreds of guests in one loooong line being fed like cattle. The coffee machine did not work. The juices were the worst we have ever had - basically watered down dish water with a hint of juice. The tv in the room was of the poorest quality I have ever seen. Of all the Embassy Suites we/I have stayed it, this was undoubtedly the worst. This hotel definitely ranks in the worst two I have stayed in, the other being a motel at a truck stop in the middle of nowhere. NOT RECOMMENDED !!!!!!!! Beware. Read more
