Comfort Inn Downtown

Without going into details as to why, my husband and I have stayed at this hotel during the New Year holidays. It is always great and so we return year after year. I checked in around noon and was told our room wasn't ready, but was offered another room. I agreed. Again, the staff, food, location, overall hotel condition was great. The room that we […] had, however, was not like any we had stayed in before.......it was smaller and just had a lot of eccentricities, such as the temperature of the water in the shower fluctuating wildly every 8 seconds (yes, I timed it), the door not opening until after several tries, the room never getting really warm even though the thermostat was set at 80 (the highest it would go). All very minor annoyances, but it just wasn't up to the level our previous visits have been. Add to that the New Year's revelers next door (not hotel's fault) and the bitter cold this year (also not hotel's fault) and it wasn't the stay we had hoped........... but overall not bad and we will certainly return next year and I will be more watchful as to what room we get. My fiancé and I love about 20 minutes away from downtown Denver and we wanted to stay downtown for New Years. Our room was clean and comfortable and the hotel is in a perfect location downtown near 16th st and lots of nightlife. We had a great time and had a comfy bed to crash in.

Great under the budget hotel!!! It is clean, well located and the staff is very attentive. We had a problem with the bathroom sliding door, they couldn't fix it within the time of the stay, however they did apologize and offer to trade rooms if we wanted too! My boyfriend and I took a trip to Denver, just for leisure/to explore a new city a bit. The location of this hotel is great - SO close to the 16th St. mall! Other downtown spots were within walking distance, or if not, just a short cab ride away. The staff were friendly and the room was very clean, but it definitely needs an upgrade. The bathroom in particular, although clean looks worn and in need of repair. They could also look at better insulation between rooms as I could hear my neighbour's television all night.

A reasonably priced hotel conveniently located in Downtown Denver, and only 1 block away from the 16th Street Mall. Less expensive than other hotels in the area, and includes a nice free breakfast as well. We needed to check out a little later than the 11am check-out time, and the hotel was accommodating, and told us to check with them on the morning […] of the check out. When we did, they let us stay until 1pm with no extra charge. We also arrived earlier than the 4pm check in time, and were allowed to check in with no additional charge. Only minor issue was that the walls were a little thin, and if anyone next door speaks in a somewhat loud voice, you can hear it pretty clearly in your room. We really enjoyed our 2-night stay and will return in the future. What we did not realize before our arrival is that this property was formerly an annex to the Brown Palace Hotel which is across the street and connected by a skybridge. Comfort Inn guests also have access to room service from the Brown Palace restaurants and the convenience of charging […] meals to the room. They also include Comfort Inn guests in the complimentary tour of the Brown Palace if their stay is on a day/time when the tour is available. Otherwise, you can take a self-guided tour of the Brown Palace. The complimentary breakfast is plentiful and varied. We were given a free upgrade upon check-in which was very much appreciated. The location is very convenient to the 16th Street Mall as well as many museums. The valet parking is worth it, and we were able to leave our car in the garage after check-out as there were still things we wanted to do before leaving the city. The 2 most important things to us (after cleanliness) are the bed and the shower. The shower gets an A+; the bed was more of a B-. That being said, the hotel is in the midst of a major renovation scheduled to be completed in March 2013. I hope the beds are part of that! The decor is contemporary, and the lighting is especially good. The bathroom was pretty basic, but I think that will change with the renovation. Stayed 3 nights in Nov 2012. Room and bathroom are extremely small and uncomfortable. The bathroom had plumbing problems. The bed sheets and pillows had hair in them. Won't stay there again. The breakfast was good. The car parking is $25 a day.

Check in took nearly one hour, and not because there was a line. The man "helping" us called 2 different managers for help in assigning us a room, despite reservation being made through Expedia.com 7 wks in advance. No one appeared to be knowledgeable about check in process. Employees we encountered during our stay appeared to hate their jobs. No one […] was smiling or pleasant. Beds were extremely hard, bathroom in need of renovation. Hot water scarse. The best things about this hotel were its location & the gym. The gym equipment was newish & in very good condition. The room very clean and the bed was comfortable. I was surprised how sound-proof the room was. I was right by the elevator and never heard noise in the hall. The free interenet was great for business travelers and the free continental breakfast was OK. The only issue I had was the constant clicking noise of the A/C unit. Everything was great. The breakfast was fantastic, staff was very friendly and helpful and the location was superb. The "double beds: however were more like a big twin bed. There was not enough room for two grown people to sleep comfortably in the bed. Other than the beds i would highly recommend this motel.

I stayed at this hotel a year ago with no problems but was less than satisfied with this stay. The first night we had no toilet paper & no hot water. The tub wouldn't drain so we were in water to our ankles by the time we were done. Housekeeping didn't bring us more kleenex when we ran out & didn't refill the coffee cups.
