We could walk to the bus and subway systems to get anywhere. Grocery store near by. Was a fine place to stay.

it was really good the room was clean although the beds are not that comfortable. I struggled with the fact that no one was at the door to help with either the bags or the door .I believe they should improve their customer service.

typical city noise, no prob there really. Front desk was able to send someone up to fix my broken heater quickly. I then had to move rooms, because it kept breaking. Its an old building thats been redone the best i can be. Good for a short temp stay if you're trying to save a few bucks. good location

Very clean, friendly and within walking distance to the family friendly dining (Rainforest Cafe, Rock&Roll McDonalds, Uno's, Hard Rock Cafe,etc.) shopping areas (Michigan Ave) as well as easy to get to off of the highway! Overall the hotel was very clean and in a good location. The free parking service was an appreciated plus. Only thing I have to complain about is you can hear everything going on in the next rooms and the rooms above and below you. I would say it's pretty expensive for what you get, but Chicago is an expensive city in general

My daughter and I stayed here for just one night with a friend of mine and her daughter. We were very pleased with the cleanliness of the room and the hotel. When I asked the hotel staff about it, they said that this also was closed for maintenance. The hotel is just a short walk from Michigan avenue and fairly convenient to most of downtown. I didn't have a car with me on this trip but I can imagine the parking lot and the parking included in the price would be great to have if needed. The hotel had a "hotel smell" to it. The lobby and hallways all smelled of cleaning solution. Not exactly welcoming. […] The bed was very comfortable and the t.v. and desk areas were great. I spent 1/2 of a day working from in the room and I found it good for this purpose. The noise from the street was loud at night (I was on the 4th floor overlooking the parking lot). I had to turn the A/C unit's fan on just to drown out that noise. Overall: I'd stay here again if needed but it wouldn't be one of my top choices for Chicago business travel. Read more

Decent price, and free parking! Exactly what we were looking for on our quick one night stay in Chicago. Also, a huge THANK YOU to the parking attendant for jumping our car in the morning when we found our battery to be dead! He went above and beyond making sure the car ran and that we turned it back off and on to make sure it would restart!

I visited Chicago to attend a concert at the Congress Theater. Although the room was not within walking distance of the venue it was conveniently located between the venue and the city's downtown area. A plus was that the room was clean and the bedding was comfy. The best part of it all was that parking is FREE (which is a big deal in a city where hotel […] parking averages at $45/night). Next our room was on the 2nd floor right above the gargage entrance, our beautiful view! On Friday night we were awakened every few minutes by loud people on the street, drunken brawls & cars being parked honking to enter the lower level, which was right below our bed. The hotel was very worn, and beat up,then the elevators were broken down on Saturday, and since I had a walking cast on my foot it was not easy for me to hike it up and down the stairs. Great location. Parking for Free and the hotel was easy to work with for a extra time to part after Noon checkout. across the street from Rain Forest Cafe and Hard Rock. A no frills non descript hotel. it is located right downtown with easy access to most downtown attractions. the rooms and facilities are okay. a strictly average hotel but a huge plus is the free parking which for most downtown hotels is 30-40 dollars per day if not more so that can result in some savings.

The Best Western Plus River North is in a great location. Lots of great restaurants, and it's just 2-3 blocks from the Red Line station (Grand on State Street). We were actually in town for a concert at Wrigley Field (which has no nearby decent hotels), so access to mass transit in a safe area of the city was important. The trip north to Wrigley on […] the L only took 10 minutes during rush hour. If you're not familiar with the city or the L system, you can easily reach most other major attractions for under five dollars (round trip). Also key is the FREE parking they offer. If you haven't checked yet, most hotels in the city will charge $30-$50 per night for parking. They have attendants in the garage to guide you through the process (temporary parking, check-in, garage parking), so it went very smoothly. All staff we encountered were friendly, helpful, and efficient. Would definitely stay here again. Read more
