Best Western Grand City Hotel Köln (formerly Four Points) - Cologne

This hotel is just across the street from the train station and very close to the cathedral. The people at the front desk were very helpful and polite. The bed was uncomfortable, although I found the same to be true in most European hotels where I stayed.

The hotel is in an excellent situation, the train terminal, which I use much, is right across the street. The room was clean, with a big desk and plasma TV, the bathroom has a tub which is quite convenient. Breakfast was offered at an adjacent restaurant but I never went to it since it cost 19 euros per person; an abusive price. The windows are sound-proof but one can still hear a slight noise coming from the train station. This did not bother me much since I did spend the whole day visiting churches, museums, etc. By the time I came back to my room late in the evening I was so tired that after my bath I fell asleep. The room was too hot (even for the month of Dec), even though we tried adjusting the temperature but it doesn't work! Instead we opened the door to the balcony for some ventilation but it was too noisy to keep it opened the whole night as the hotel is just next to the train station.

Excellent hotel with a brilliant location on the doorstep of the main station and close to the cathedral. The only drawback was with noise from the station in the early hours: this wasn't a problem for us, but could be for light sleepers. Recommended!

the location of the hotel was superb also everything was nice and clean, where it let you down was two areas, the mattress was so worn and too soft it made nearly impossible to sleep, and there were no tea or coffee making facilities which in a four star hotel should have been a standard thing.

I was surprised that this hotel had not had a makeover as part of the change of name. In particular the lifts are well overdue a refurbishment. However the room was a good size and was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was a bit small.

Extremely close to the river and the catherdral. Excellent location and extremly nice view at night from our 9th floor room. very greatful we received such a good room. Only the parking situation was a bit annoying as we werent sure how safe the public parking was in the area but the car was fine the next morning.

Great & location, just adj train station, had no problem with noise & so convenient, a BackWerk opposite has cheap breakfast options for those on the go.We had a free up-grade at the hotel,which was a bonus.Certainly stay again. To find the hotel just walk out of the station in the opposite direction to signs pointing to the Dom.

Checking in was simple and the room though small was adequate. The redeeming features were the fast Wi Fi (on more than one gadget!) and the good and comprehensive range of items on the self service breakfast menu. Late check out after 11:00 was also appreciated.

Almost everything was comfortable, specially breakfast. Only disadvantage was, that air condition was not working(cooling). When I put it on, it started heating...!Outside was +14 C and inside much more.It wasn't possible to have window open trough th night because the noise from railway station.
