Modern and spacious rooms, huge bed as standard and very well placed (assuming you want to be in Downtown SF). But the winning part of Le Meridien for us was the staff, particularly those at the Concierge desk. Both the day and night teams were helpful above & beyond. We were relocating to SF and trying to apply for apartments: the staff would fax, print and photocopy for us without charge, and even offered genuinely helpful advice on places to look and how to get around. I wouldn't pay full price for a room (but then I wouldn't pay full price for ANY hotel) but the deal on here was good. Minibar expensive, but nothing new there; only real disappointment was that the internet wasn't free ($10 a day, I think). Nonetheless, when friends or family come to stay in the city I'll be recommending this place.

Very happy with stay at this hotel. The parking was confusing as others whom reviewed commented on how bad and expensive the parking was. You are located down town SF what are you expecting. I parked in the public parking lot, across the street, per valet's advise and was able to stay the entire night (Fri-Sat am) for $30.00. Thought it perfectly acceptable.

Nice location, you can walk through a 3 level mall with shopping and food all the way to the Embarcadero and The Pier (where there is more dining). Hotel is in the Financial District and during the Thanksgiving long weekend when we were there a lot of shops and restaurants were closed (not hotel's fault). Overall a very enjoyable stay.

Reviewed by Adam of McLean on Nov 17, 2009
Le Meridien exceeded my expectations with its sophisticated yet comfortable property in the heart of the city. Planning for a long-weekend getaway, I was shocked to find a nightly rate not high above the two- and three-star hotels near kitschy Fisherman's Warf. Fearing the worst, my cynicism was proven wrong throughout my stay. The hotel, two blocks from the Transamerica Building and a quick walk to the Embarcadero and lower Nob Hill, managed to pull off the oft-disastrous balancing act between understated elegance and West Coast trendiness. We were quickly checked in despite arriving an hour early and found our room, despite our low rate, to be both spacious and refreshed. Our bay view was truly stunning, and the room not even icy-cold, as seems to be the norm arrival. The room was also particularly quiet. The only complaint was with Starwood Hotels' policy of pay-to-use Internet. Coming up on the 2010s, a fee Web services seems dated even for lesser hotels. (I wound up using the free Wi-Fi signal from the hotel across the block.) The front desk allowed for a 2 p.m. checkout and the concierge was knowledgeable and helpful in restaurant reservations (and guiding us away from a crowded guidebook favorite). Having stayed at the property when it was a Park Hyatt, I can say Le Meridien has truly raised the bar.

Le Meridien is a lovely hotel. The beds are very comfortable and the room was quiet. The concierge was very helpful finding unique places to eat and visit. I have a bad back and she recommended a fantastic massage therapist that came to the room (I'm a massage therapist also and I'm very picky!). It is located in the business area so not a lot of places were open late but SF is so easy to get around that didn't really matter. It's across from the Embarcadero and walking distance from the Ferry Bldg. We also had a great time walking to the Modern Art Museum and to Fisherman's Wharf. I highly recommend Le Meridien!

The stay was good. however, the only thing that was not expected and would make me hesitate to be there again is that we checke din early, and asked the hotel if that was ok, and they said if the room was available then it was fine, which it was. However, they later charged us an extra $100 for it, which i think is bad business policy.
