The front desk clerk put us on the top floor with a view without us even asking. The room was spotless, the bed comfortable. My partner and I stayed over the weekend for a mini getaway and it was absolutely beautiful. Quiet side of town although extremely close to the piers and Chinatown if you don't mind the walk. "Don't Stay Here"
I had multiple issues while at this hotel for 2 nights. Sliding bathroom door was off the track and was very difficult to move. No one attempted to fix it until day 2 when I requested it be repaired. Maintenance man tried to fix it while I held a flashlight for him for over 40 minutes because the hall light didn't work. After the 40 minutes, I told […] him I was going to request another room. I went downstairs and the front desk staff were talking to guests so i approached the Concierge. She looked quite annoyed with me and said I had to wait and speak to the front desk staff and she couldn't help me. I did get a new room but this process wasted over an hour of my day and then I had to change rooms. Night 1 - Stain on comforter. Went to call housekeeping, but the phone didn't work. Front desk staff was very rude when we arrived to check in. I overheard another staff member ask for a telephone number so they could call her when her room was ready. I asked to give my number for the same service and was told "We don't do that. Just come back after 3" I spoke to the manager when I checked out to discuss the issues we encountered. She credited my Starwoods Membership account with some points, but definitely didn't get much value at this hotel and would not stay here again. Considering the price, I was very disappointed in this hotel. For $300 plus a night, I think you could do much better in SF. My stay was not remotely close the standard I've come to expect from Le Meridien. Aside from the lobby, this facility could do with some updating. There was no coffee-tea setup in the rooms. Complimentary coffee and tea was available […] mornings in the restaurant; however, on two occasions all of the large coffee dispensers were empty and no one in the restaurant could be found to refill them. Our room was tidied up only partially daily. Topping it all, we were woken daily at 7AM by union protesters. Seems Le Meridien has let its labor contract lapse. Not even a partial effort was made to accommodate us and the other guests for the inconvenience. The hotel was, however, more than happy to charge us for incredibly slow and unreliable wi-fi access. On the bright side, I found the valet parking staff and the doormen to be top notch. The concierge staff, on the other hand, while generally helpful, seemed more or less resigned. We do offer great complimentary coffee but that does not help you if the dispensers are empty. There is also no excuse for the room not being cleaned properly. All of this feedback is helpful and we will discuss it as a team during our frequent and ongoing training sessions. We will review our procedures on how both of these are serviced and fix this for the future. We absolutely sympathize with you for the early-morning disturbance caused by the protestors during your last stay with us. Unfortunately, as the protestors have no affiliation with the hotel, we have no control over their actions. The protest was carefully carried out within the letter of the law as set down by both Federal and City ordinances, and we are unable to interfere with the protestors’ legal rights. We are a non-union hotel and we are sorry that you were led to believe that we had a contract that lapsed. None of the protestors are our associates and we cannot approach them or intervene in their legal right to protest. We do sincerely wish there was more we could to support our guests and associates but our hands are unfortunately tied. Thank you again for staying with us. We are truly sorry that you were disappointed in your stay.
