Fantastic view of the bay, the bay bridge and Coit Tower. Room was beautiful, clean and quiet. We had the executive suite and it was plush and very comfortable. Very nice stay and would definitely recommend to others.

Overall we were happy with our stay. The location was within walking distance to many attractions since the city really isn't that big. We were a little disappointed that the lobby was under construction as the lobby is really what gives you your first overall impression of the hotel. We kind of felt like we were being sneaked in a back entrance, but […] other than that the service was good and the hotel rooms were pretty clean and comfortable. We had a partial view of SF bay which was nice. I understand the higher floors have an even better view (we were on the 12th floor). A lot of the area restaurants and businesses are closed on the weekends so if you're looking for restaurants other than the Elephant and Castle that's right across the street you have to travel a ways away from the hotel. Everything was great about this hotel from the staff to the great room to perfect location a block from a cable car stop, a few blocks from the Ferry Building, and easy access to anything else. The only ding when we were there was the lobby and everything on the ground floor was being renovated. everything about our stay at le meredien was delightful! check-in was simple and uneventful. no lost reservations or given wrong room type. our room 808 was very nice, floor to ceiling windows and a view of the bay bridge. the rooms have a modern feel. i appreciate an in-room safe which they did provide. the bathroom was roomy and a lighted makeup mirror […] is always a nice touch. my husband and i were in town to host a dinner party at our daughters apt and we realized we didnt have enough tablecloths. we started making calls to party rental stores which are mostly all on the peninsula and wanted to charge over $30/each. i took the chance of asking the conceirge who offered me the tablecloths with my word that they'd be returned. perfect! they were delivered to my room less than 15 minutes later. as you can imagine, that scored major points with me. paying $90 for parking per night for my oversized suv was a bit steep, but there is a parking garage around the corner for $32/night. the reception area is being remodeled so there is some construction going on. no big deal. just take a service elevator to the second floor. we had such a hectic weekend but coming back to our nice, comfy room made it a little easier. thank you le meredien, we'll be back. The hotel was undergoing some maintenance at the time of our stay, and because of this the water supply to the entire hotel was going to be shut off from 10am to 4pm the following morning. However we were not told this until Check-in. Other than this inconvenience our stay was very pleasant.

You can tell its one of the older hotels like Clift because the interior hasn't been renovated for at least 20 years and the way it's designed. Elevators are slow too. That being said the only real problem is that they have really loud maids banging on the doors in the morning asking for room service where the whole floor can hear. We had booked a superior room but we were given a small room; they never left complimentary water bottles in our room despite having reminded the on duty staff one night. The hotel was under renovatin and the temporary main entrance had just one lift for all!

A lovely 1st class hotel in the financial disctrict, 2 blocks from the Ferry Building. Great rates with ample, close-by street parking on weekends. A short term drawback is that the hotel is currently remodeling the regular loby and, although they have constructed a nice temporary loby on the 2nd floor, the access in and out of the hotel, through a […] small service elevator, is a bit quirky. Accommodations were excellent as always despite being under renovation. Restaurant seems to have degraded. I had to return my original breakfast order due to an odd flavor in the scrambled eggs. Replacement meal was suitable.

This was a nice hotel and good value. The room is much nicer and newer than many in SF. We got the package that included parking. Some complained about the lobby being closed for renovations, but they offered free coffe and tea in the make shift lobby and we were not interested in hanging out in the lobby anyway with so much to do in SF

As its in the financial district, most places (almost all places) are closed on the weekend, so no luck on even finding a coffee place near by in the morning. They […] were very uninformed, could not provide us with proper information on where to eat, go or even directions on how to talk transportation around the city. They seemed completely uncaring and uninformed when we'd ask them any questions. The hotel staff was arrogant and provided poor customer service. They gave us the room key cards like 10 times and none of them worked at first attempt. Overall had a really ordinary experience, there was nothing special even on Christmas weekend in this hotel and would never recommend any of my friends to stay here.

Overall nice hotel, but no pool, sauna or hot tub. Gym facility was very nice and clean, even had hot towels. Front desk area is in an odd location. 2nd floor that you have to transfer to, to get to the actual hotel rooms. Not a very warm and inviting entrance. Main intolerance is currently under refurbishing so one has to take two lifts to get to the room. I had permanent issues with room keys - that resulted in getting back to the reception 3 times in two days. Note the internet connection is very poor so don't expect to videoconference from the hotel. It also went down for few hours on the first night.

Hotel is currently undergoing construction on the main/lower floors, but they're doing their best to minimize the impacts. There were no problems with noise, traffic, or elevator availability. Hotel common areas were clean and the room was very comfortable. There is a delicious restaurant a block away called Georges - yummy oysters and seafood!

I can share that from start to finish, they were consistently rude and unhelpful. I had to bell my luggage from my car to the room and back to the car. They were rude at check-in and over the phone. They seemed to be short staffed on top of the poor service. I did like the room and the view though. I'll give them that.

Arrived by cab at hotel. Location was perfect. But I couldn't decide how to go in because the lobby was walled off. It seems the hotel was conducting a major renovation of the lobby and other common areas. I'm an attorney, and I was meeting a witness at the hotel to prepare him for his deposition the next day. We couldn't find a place to meet other […] than my room, which was awkward. A nice hotel should have a meeting place. The improvised bar was also not very nice or available. Worse, each morning I awoke to the sound of jackhammers. It was also hard to get in and out of the hotel, because we couldn't go through the lobby; we had to ride a freight elevator to the second floor and then switch to the main elevator. The staff wasn't very helpful or sympathetic when dealing with these problems. I think the hotel should have informed Expedia and other travel sites about the work; when I am paying luxury hotel prices, I expect a luxury hotel. Read more

Just a couple blocks from Embarcadero, within easy walking distance to cable car line, BART, etc. Would definitely stay here again. Main lobby is completely closed for construction, so was a little cumbersome to get up to 2nd floor for check in, but everyone was very helpful. Views from upper floors are fantastic.
