We read the reviews at Expedia because it is our trustable site when going to vacations so we were expecting a 3.4 star hotel and yes that is what we got so we are not really dissapointed we pretty much choose it because of the location, the rooms were clean but the air conditioner kept leaking not a little a lot! last day we had to use three towels, […] when we told the front desk their only reply was thanks for leting us know, the room was a little old with paint peeling in the ceiling but what we really like was that the room was cleaned early and that the cleaning ladies, waiters,pool security, bellboy etc.. all were friendly, polite and helpful, the location was great to walk to nice restaurants, the ocean view from our room was awesome, the fact that we were able to use the pool facilities from their sister hotel "Luna Palace" was also nice as they are really close (less than 5 min walk) the buffet at their restaurant was 9.50 usd p/p so it was also convenient. We have just returned from a quick 2 day trip with our two teenagers, we went a family party in Mazatlán. The very best thing about this hotel is the location. It has a stupendous beach. I woke morning early and sat out on our balcony to read, relax and just listen to the calming ocean sounds. The fitness room was nice.

If you are looking for a fun beach-front place for kids, this seems to be it. I almost never complain in a review, but I want to give others a sense of what we experienced. The hotel was rated 3.5 stars, but it was not at the level of other 3+ star hotels we've stayed at. The hallways usually smelled of bleach, and soaking wet kids running around everywhere left the elevators and hallway floors wet. Our bathroom looked like an old motel's bathroom. The swim-up bar in the photos (which we love) was not functioning. They had a VERY lively Mexican band start playing at 8am on a Monday, which we thought was amazingly early for such energy, but while we were hoping to sleep in, everyone sounded like they were having a great time at the restaurant! The staff was great and very helpful. The bed was very hard. The air conditioner could not be adjusted and it leaked water onto the floor. The restaurant had great food and great service but the music was to load. The pool and ground were very clean. Overall a nice place to stay.

Everyone was so very kind and the hotel is really good, definitely stay there again. I was within walking distance to just about everything I needed and if not I could easily access the bus or Pulmonia to take me wherever I needed to go very reasonably. I can´t say enough about the hotel and my satisfaction. It was a short but good trip.

This is a basic hotel. Nothing special. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. The bed is stiff, pillows are not pillowy. There are no wash clothes and 2 full size towels only. The shower is a bit moldy. If you're looking for a place to just crash and store you stuff this would do....not a high class resort, if you want stars go down the road more! […] Overall it suited our needs, first night screaming kids next door and up and down the hall in the middle of the night after they left all was well. This was my second trip to this particular hotel and this time around was even better than the first. The restaurant food is good and the location (beach front) is PERFECT! Although the "Malecon" and centro are not too close the beach front view made all that ok. Like my review title I can't wait to return!!

The management of this "hotel" it is very bad. first of all I got the wrong room. They got me another one with no phone (for 4 days), toilet broken and sink liking. On top of all when I came back to my room on the second and third day my door was wide open. "NO body opened it according to them". The first time I did not complain since I though that […] may be I left it open. But it wasn't me. I realized that one of my new nice shorts was missing. No body found it. After I requested a solution for my many problems in this hotel. The Manager Mr. Jimenez never got back to me to give me an explanation. I called him from USA to Mazatlan and he said that he was sorry but they are not responsible for any lost items in the hotel. Just a quick advise. BETTER TO PAY A LITTLE MORE THAN BE MISERABLE! it happened to me But won't happen again. Enjoy and you make your choice where to stay. Mazatlecos are beautiful people. As soon is I got there my streak of bad luck started. It took me about half an hour to get acknowledge by the understaffed reception desk. An hour later I'm heated to my room and when there, the card key does not work. The bellboy retrives anotherone for me and gets my room open. Only to discover that I got the wrong bed size, two full size beds instead […] of the king I has originally reserved on this site. I do admit that they were prompt at changing me to another room once I informed the reception. The next day the maid cleaned my room but did not leave me any fresh towels, (she had ran out of them) no one came by all day to place any towels till I requested them later that night. Now with towels on hand I head to take a shower and notice rust was coming out of the faucets. I'm guessing it was from the water heater but not sure because the toilet water was also brown. My boyfriend and I stayed here in June of 2011 which is considered their off season. The hotel was pretty full, mostly of Mexican nationals on vacation but the staff was never too busy to help us in any way. They greeted us warmly and even the General Manager of the hotel came out to personally welcome us to the hotel. The rooms are not quite as fancy as the pictures show but much nicer than many Two/Three star places I've stayed before. The pool was great and the ocean was mere steps away. We stayed at the Oceano Palace the final day of Easter vacation the end of April, 2011. The day we arrived it was jam packed with tons of people, mostly national visitors from other parts of Mexico. There was a party for the kids at the pool and they were selling good, cheap tacos as well as other things for the kids. They blasted music all day and […] night until around 11pm or so. There were many waiters and people to serve but it was noisy as was to be expected on a holiday. No problem with the room though, it was fairly quite even though we were above the pool with an ocean view. The music could be heard of course but it was not obnoxious. The following two nights were a complete contrast. The swim up bar at the pool was closed the rest of our stay. I'm guessing they only open it for parties or something. The waiters and service people all disappeared and we had to lug our own beach chairs around, etc...but we managed and saved a lot on tipping. Great ocean and pool views at this hotel. Nice beach. There were two restaurants, one featured pizza made fresh in a pizza oven, VERY tasty. The other was a general restaurant but as happens so often in Mexico the dining music was always too loud. Clean, basic rooms. Friendly staff. I would recommend it for anyone traveling on a budget needing a good view of the ocean and beach side in Mazatlan. Read more

I checked in here after 4 days at Costa de Oro to try another hotel and see what the competition has to offer, boy what a MISTAKE! This is a hotel I would expect to find in some of the lesser sought after Mexican vacation spots such as Puerto Penasco, not something that would be on the outskirts of the famous Mazatlan Golden Zone. The staff were rude […] and unobliging in everything from check in, to restraunt service, to check out. Additionally there is security at every turn making the whole place feel like a prison camp versus a vacation getaway. They even slap a braclet on you at check in so security can scrutinize you everytime you come and go from the front entrance or back and forth from the beach. The photos make the rooms seem much more than they are. The bathrooms are tiny the lighting in the vanity area is horrible and the balcony is just about big enough for two people to stand on while touching shoulders. Additionally the balconies are divided from room to room by two thin poles you can lean over to see into the adjacent room, which we caught our neighbors doing! At check in we waited a few minutes before they attended us. Which was weird since there was no one in line, they were all just off to the side talking amongst themselves. They also made us wear wristbands. according to the receptionist it was for security measures but that was a terrible idea because we could have been easily followed by other ppl […] we crossed during the carnaval. Rooms were totally decent. A nice hotel - the pool and restaurant were great. Rooms were quite average - nothing special but relatively clean and comfortable. No additional toiletries though so don't forget anything. Kinda difficult to get pool towels so make sure you ask right at check in or first thing in the morning. Overall, a pleasant stay!

This is a 3 star so if you want a plush pillow top mattress and your sheets turned down nightly.....go elsehwere. If however, you want a cultural experience, mix with Mexican Nationals, eat great food, swim on a fantastic beach and be within walking distance to great little shops and restaurants; you'll love this hotel. The pizza, if you must avoid mexican cuisine for a night is likely the best in Maz. To work off your pizza, check out the gym...amazing!!!! I used it daily. Finally, the staff: Thanks to the front reception man (the big guy) who worked with expedia on our behalf to fix our messed up reservation. Thanks to Humberto on the beach who took care of us daily on the beach; he checked in with us at perfect intervals and never hounded us.....and the care I received after the jelly fish sting, he was great. The hotel is not in the Golden Zone (Zona Dorada). It is at the very end of the zone which is far from everything else. Although our stay was for one night only, they forgot to give us the remote controls for the AC & TV at check-in. I had requested the mountain view but instead, it overlooked the street and city view. The window is pretty small and […] dirty so it was not really a view at all. As well, the sink is located outside of the washroom which is a little weird for the layout. I've stayed at other hotels in Mexico and I would say it is a little over priced for what the hotel offers. This was one of the cheapest hotel room I could find on the Monday night we stayed at. They charge as much as 4x the rate due to semana santa but I would not pay more than what we paid. The room lacks storage space, closet space and counters. The in-room safe was not properly reset when we checked in so we spent a good hour tinkering with it before calling the front desk. This should have been reset before we were introduced the room. We were required to wear a coloured bracelet to distinguish us to be guests of the hotel which was tacky since we didn't pay for an all-inclusive package. Flashing our hotel key to the doorman could have been sufficient. We had a nice breakfast on the patio facing the ocean. Service could be better. Bed was not King Size instead 2 doubles put together. Rooms are not soundproof as I could hear the neighbour blasting their TV. Pictures deceiving. Read more

If you want to go to a good hotel with a great gym this is it. Brand new top of the line equipment. Gym overlooks the ocean. Fantastic place to work out!! Good swimming pool.
