City Center Inn & Suites - San Francisco

There was blood splatters on the bathroom walls, the toilet was not clean, and the room smelled of mold. The price charged was outrageous. The elevator smelled like urine and the hotel amenities were terrible. The "continental breakfast" consisted of a (1) 4 oz cup of warm orange juice, a (1) 4 oz cup of coffee and (1) danish wrapped in plastic with […] a big sign that said you were only allowed one. There were coffee cups in room but no coffee pot and I was afraid of unpacking my clothes because of bed bugs. I'm coming right out and saying it: this place totally looked like it was going to be a bit scuzzy. When I actually got in the room, however, it was spotless. The woman at the front desk was always helpful and friendly. Good place that was close enough to downtown that I could walk to the Moscone center each day.

The place seemed overall not that bad. We woke up to a women screaming desperately for help at 4 am. Scared us all, could not go back to sleep! There is apparently a trick to the Shower head, it's not broken!

Parking is so bad I had to go down the street to another hotel and pay for parking. The neighborhood is questionable at best. Had I known the area better or had the reviews reflected this I would not have stayed there - it looks like nothing has been updated - replaced or repaired in 10 years. I reserved a king bed and they put me in a room with full bed. They didn't have a room to move me to. The room was about as big as a small dorm room. This is an older facility in a part of San Francisco that is challenging. It is convenient to Convention Center and was fine for a room that primarily for sleeping. Internet access was good - and welcome. Because of neighborhood would not recommend it to families with small children

i stayed in the building across the street and the wifi does not reach across the street, so if possible stay in the main building. it was about a 4 block walk to the mascone center which was great and really convenient. I would stay there again for another conference.

Love the neighborhood. Terrific coffee bar right next door- SightGlass Coffee. Just steps from some of the best wine bars, breakfast cafes, full service restaurants, clubs (gay and str8) and feels very safe even at night. We had stayed at this Inn before and were pleased with that first stay. Well 2nd time was not a charm. When we checked in my husband flipped on the TV to find we had only one channel, and it was a local "Jerry Springer" type station, to say the least not relaxing when we were in the room. Also had our housekeeper disappear in the middle of cleaning […] our room and had to call down to get sufficient wash cloths and towels. The towel situation was remedied immediately but the TV problem was never addressed even though we were told that they would send someone to fix it. It was horrible. The service was awful. First, the front desk person did not welcome us, since we arrived a little bit early our room was not ready. Therefore, they told us we could leave our luggage but would be charge 2 dollars per bag; we had to pay 8 dls and we did not get a receipt. The keys did not work; everyday we had to go downstairs to re-activate it. We found a rat and insect trap under the bed. There was a leak by the sink. The cups in the room were never washed after we used them. The coffee machine was not clean. And finally, Mrs. Laquirica was not kind at all, her customer service skills are below average. The Shower was full of black mold, we did not have all of the towels that were on the rooms list. The carpet looked like a crime scene. I guess you get what you pay for. I will spend more money next time. The free parking was nice!

Great hotel- extremely friendly and helpful front desk staff- esp Ivy. She is a doll. I love the location as it is "South of Market" and in a trendy though industrial-feel type of area.
