"Ideal business hotel in Elmhurst Area"
Very friendly and knowledgable hotel staff. Clean room with blazing fast internet access. Nice fitness room, however, some equipment needs maintenance. Convenient Bistro restaurant for breakfast, lunch, and dinner was not only cost-effective but healthy. I will be returning to the area for business soon, and I will stay again at this Courtyard Marr […] iott. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Response by Courtyard by Marriott Chicago Elmhurst/Oakbrook Area Thank you so much for your wonderful comments! We are so glad you enjoyed your visit!
Everything was great! However, the hotel needs to improve the signage to get to their driveway and entrance. You can only enter the hotel property if you are going southbound on Route 83 in Elmhurst. There is another entrance on North Avenue, thru a shopping center, which is not well-noted and somewhat hidden with bushes. This was somewhat frustrating […] until you know what you are doing. The breakfast bistro was outstanding! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel has no shuttle service at all and each desk clerk has their own "preferred" cab service; there is not a corporate partner for local transportation. The highway toward the front of the hotel is busy and noisy. Recommend a room away from the street side. Noticed a bit of mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. Otherwise, the room was clean.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Great hotel great price"
Great for a great price! Great service and comfy beds.Genuine Expedia guest review
Very nice, modern hotel. I ran out of shampoo and conditioner and they were not able to get me any as the houskeeping staff was not in yet. A little disappointing but overall very nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
older hotel but well maintained & updated. only downside was noise from Hwy 83 along the east side, but turn the fan on or ask for rooms on the west side, away from traffic...much quieter. great breakfast (included), wifi handled my VPN, very friendly staff. i'll stay againGenuine Expedia guest review
"Clean hotel but had some issues"
This hotel is very clean and in a great location, close to expressways and shopping. I did have a couple of issues with my room. The iron didn't work and they immediately gave me another one, but that one also didn't work. The refrigerator in the room did not work at all. Was told there would be a microwave in the room, but that wasn't there either. […] Also some of the TV stations did come in (like the weather channel). Asked if I could get some tea in the evening, but was told they only have a beverage station available only in the morning. At most comparable hotels I have recently stayed at in NY and Boston, the beverage station is open all the time. If you are a light sleeper, you might ask to have a room facing away from Rte 83 which is noisy both day and night. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great Amenities, Clean, Friendly Staff"
Hotel was recently remodeled with a modern IKEA feeling. Rooms were very clean and the staff was extremely helpful in regards to local dining and modes of transportation to and from Chicago. Hotel is off a highway so walking to and from places is a bit challenging, but hotel staff recommends REASONABLY priced taxi's to and from the train station (to […] chicago) which is about a mile away. Train to chicago from Elmhurst stops running at midnight so if you're partying in CHI be prepared to cab it back. Would definitely stay here again but for young adults check for stuff in the Wicker Pack area. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The front desk staff need more training. The breakfast left much to be desired. The location and accessibility was a horrible.Genuine Expedia guest review
My husband was ask what floor he would like & he said first,so we were given a handicapped room. That was fine as I was having back problems. But the shower area was not good for me as I could have slipped with all the water on the floor. My husband had to use towels as a dam.The air conditioner was very noisy. The Bristo breakfast was not good, it sounds […] like it is all fresh food, but I know from having worked in a resturant it wasn't.I am diabetic and the choices had were not good,I usually take my own cereal with me but didn't this time and if I had,I would not have been able to go eat with my husband,as no food or beverage was to be brought into the resturant area. All around we were dissapointed with our stay. "A really pleasant experience"
This hotel is wrapping up a lovely remodeling. We had an upgraded room that was roomy, comfortable, and remarkably quiet. The location is great if you want to be centrally located (we visited Oak Park, Schaumburg, and downtown Chicago). Our concierge, Bobby, was professional, friendly, and very accommodating. It's a very lovely hotel for the price point, […] and we'll stay there again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Near all Chicago tourist sights"
We had a really nice stay at the Courtyard by the Marriott. The hotel was clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was especially good. We were not far from the O'Hara airport, Wrigley Field and downtown Chicago.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great stay - great food - great service!!!!"
Rooms were clean and good - the food in the bistro was fantastic and included in our stay - fresh fruit, waffle, oatmeal, make to order eggs, toast, cereal, yogurt - great!!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel was updated, but not all elements were. The location was odd.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Air conditioner vent blew directly on our heads. We readjusted the vent which helped somewhat. Bed very comfortable. Breakfast great! Staff very courteous.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
There was a large outdoor party just below my 3rd floor room. The hotel had tables and chairs set up outside. The party was very loud and continued after 1 AM.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
very good experienceGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Quite remote from O'Hare. Breakfast is not a buffet is more like a shop plus a cook. 3 of 4 lights did not work. Housekeeping waked me up at 7:30 asked to clean the room. When I complained that house keeping waked me up so early the answer was hat this was my fault that I did not put the "do not disturb sign". With this logic 4am is also good hour […] to knock on the door if there is no sign hanged. Usually I like Courtyard but this one was disappointing. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The hotel itself was fine. The check-in process was not. The link between hotels.com and Marriott was broken. We booked on hotels.com and arrived 30 minutes later. The staff was completely unaware of our reservation. After looking at their fax machine, they saw our reservation, but wouldn't give us a room because we weren't "in the system." They proceeded […] to try and find out why we weren't in the system for 40 minutes before finally giving us our room. Terrible service - wouldn't recommend. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Coutryard by Marriott Elmhurst IL"
Very inconvenient to get to from any direction but coming south on Rt 83 All other directions require previous knowledge of a huge, almost unconnected parking lot to be used to reach the hotel. Helpfullness of the staff was inconsistant. Some very good. Some either not knowledgeable or unwilling to assist any more than absolutely necessary. Breakfast […] was prepakged and heated up in an oven. Large portions of bad food does not make the food any better. Service in Bistro uneven. Had to wait for 5 min. after my wife was served for my food to arrive. Cleanliness of restaurant depended on how much the customers picked up after themselves. "Courtyard by Marriott Elmhurst"
My wife and I were pleased with this hotel. It is within 2 miles of my son's apartment. We were there this weekend to celebrate our grand daughter's 1 year old birthday. The hotel room was clean, the attendants and maids were very friendly, and the food at the restaurant was good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great little bistro inside the lobby with the best hotel breakfast that I have ever had!Genuine Expedia guest review
I expect alot from Marriott, they always meet my expectations, this time they exceeded them. Every Marriott employee I came in contact with had a smile and wanted to know could they help me. They were the friendliest staff I have ever encountered, besides being professional and efficient. Will definitely be back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Called to book at late check in with no issue. Clean large rooms, maybe a little dated. Didn't try any food there as we spent most of our time in Chicago. I'd book there again.Genuine Expedia guest review

"A bit far from the downtown Chicago, but beautiful"
It was a very pleasant experience. The room was nice and clean. The breakfast was ok although not much variety. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel to everyone who know how to appreciate a good quality accommodation.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great Value & Hotel"

This was my second stay at this hotel. Very pleasant place and good value. My room was attractive, clean with great light and pretty views. Quiet and all the amenities I needed. The person who checked me in could not have been more friendly and helpful - and I appreciated getting a coupon for a free drink. Highly recommend for those needing an affordable and comfortable place to stay in this area of Chicago.

"Wish I could recommend this hotel"
12/09/14 tfox2 st.paul
I was looking forward to staying at this hotel, because the location is close to my customer's office and I wanted something convenient. The first impression is very good as the front desk staff was quite friendly and welcoming. However, the road noise from Hwy 83 is very loud, and the HVAC system in my room was even louder. With the HVAC running I could not watch TV or make a phone call...and, when I left it on overnight to dampen the road noise, I didn't even hear my alarm in the morning. Because this is only a two night stay (I'm writing from the room), I did not request to move, but I would not recommend this hotel because of the noise. Other negatives are very slow elevators and a difficult parking lot to get in and out of (can only make right turns and the traffic is pretty bad during rush hour). I will report the loud HVAC on checkout tomorrow in case it is malfunctioning, but I'm not sure it is...it just might be that loud. To end on a positive note...the hotel restaurant serves Starbucks.
"Excellent customer service, very comfortable property."

I spent Thanksgiving weekend at this property and really appreciated the excellent customer service. I caught the flu, and spent most of my time in bed, a very comfortable bed! The thermostat worked great, and I was able to keep the room warm which helped alleviate my flu symptoms. The very accommodating gentleman at the front desk, Bobby, gave me a list of area restaurants, and I was able to have food delivered to my room. My only complaint was that there was no microwave in the room, so I could not reheat leftovers, or my cold medicine. WIFI connection worked great, and I did not have any problems with exterior noises. I had stayed at this property about 15 years ago, and I remember there being a lot of road noise; property has since been remodeled, and many improvements and upgrades have been made.
"Like coming home!"

The staff at the Courtyard have excellent customer service skills. I stay at this hotel quite often and always feel safe. The property is centrally located with easy access to I-294, I-290 and I-88 and O'Hare. The sales staff (Taryn and Vydia) are easy to work with and very accomodating. The Bistro is a great place to unwind and relax or sit by the fireplace and watch the big game. (Go Saints!). I love the fitness room with newer treadmills, ellipticals and hand weights. Try to get a room on the back of the hotel #11 - #20 as the view of the creek is very relaxing. BTW...I don't work for the hotel but since I travel 6 days a weeks, I know an great hotel when I see one.
"Clean but a bit noisy"
11/21/14 Katherine P Reseda, CA
Hotel lobby is very nicely decorated with ample seating and even a fireplace. Rooms are very clean however the room I stayed in was just noisy. When I used the heater it was very loud. Also when the water was running in the shower either in my room or the one next door you could hear the pipes screeching. Staff was so friendly.
"Clean rooms, friendly staff, and about 20min from Ohare"
11/12/14 Myinbox125 Los Angeles, California
This is my go-to hotel for business when I am in the Elmhurst area. Finding hotel entrance in the dark can take a couple tries if you've never been there. When leaving in the morning take into account the morning traffic of 83 as the direction you are headed may take a U-turn or few extra minutes. The hotel, always great service and this Courtyard has the more updated Dining Area in the lobby. Not too close or walking distance to dining, but a few that are close to drive by. Oakbrook Terrace mall has dining options and only a quick 10 minute drive. Depending on time of day, drive to Chicago downtown can take upwards of 1+ hour. Without traffic, I think it was 20 minutes. I didn't see any close train stations, so do your research. I usually have a rental car when I stay at this location.

Stayed at this hotel about 2 yrs ago while they were in the midst of a substantial renovation. Well the hotel looks better but I was disappointed in some of the amenities. Specifically the ice machine on the 5th floor was broken so I centured to the 4th but it was also broken. I finally found one on the 3rd floor that worked. The next day I complained at the front desk while their maintenance man was present. That night it was still broke w no note on it or anything. The room was standard fare and I will give credit for an efficient and effective heating and AC which for some reason many hotels can't get right. That said I wasn't terribly impressed.
"Common visitor, love it"

I have a corporate headquarters close by and stay here everytime. I am very impressed with the upgrades they've done, the bistro is great, food good, workout gym 8/10 for a mid range hotel. Good pool and hot tub. It's close to Elmhurst downtown which is so cute, great eats. Teh only issue is the road noise but I sleep with the AC fan on and I can't hear it. Or sleep on any of the other 3 sides. I recommend this hotel.
"Sleep, apparently, is HIGHLY overrated"
10/22/14 Gary O Austin, Texas
I booked a room here about a week in advance. After a long day of travel and a customer meeting, I needed a place to stay for one night before attending a three day conference in the area. Due to my loyalty to Marriott, I booked a one night stay here rather than going to the conference hotel a day early. It’s been seeming like whenever I book a “loyalty stay” in a Marriott property, my plan backfires. I’ve also been avoiding Courtyards in recent years, and I should probably have stuck with that strategy (the Courtyard in Troy, MI was an exception – great property there!) Other reviewers have said this property is hard to find. I didn’t find it so; Waze took me straight in with no confusion. Other navigation systems may vary. First – decent looking property. 7 stories, which is pretty tall for a non-city downtown type Courtyard. The park/forest preserve behind the property looked very nice, and if I were here for multiple days, I’d definitely explore that area. If I wasn’t too sleep deprived. Which I would be. Upon checkin, no “thanks for being a Marriott Rewards member” or “thanks for your loyalty” or anything of the sort. Certainly no room upgrade. The FD guy handed me the “elite” branded room keys, so he definitely knows I’m gold. My room was on the fifth floor, on the IL-83 side of the property. When I got to my room, I was stunned by the traffic noise. It was around 6pm – still rush hour – and I figured perhaps after rush hour, it’d quiet down and perhaps be more like white noise. It quieted down. But not much. As exhausted as I was, the noise was still invasive and constant. I eventually drifted off to an uneasy sleep. But I’m writing this now at about 6AM, rudely awakened by the increased traffic of the morning commute. My alarm was set for 8:30AM – I had a rare opportunity to sleep in today which I was really looking forward to, but that’s not going to happen - and I'm no light sleeper. I can sleep through thunderstorms and all kinds of things, but not through this traffic outside my window. I try to avoid airport hotels because of the potential for noise, but I’ve stayed at quite a few over the years, and NEVER has an airport hotel of any brand at any level EVER been as noisy as this place. I’m not really expecting a room upgrade at a Courtyard, but do you think you could at least put me on the side of the property away from the incessant road noise? This property was far from full judging by the parking lot. Frankly, nobody should be placed on the road side of this property until the other side of the hotel is full. Rooms and lobby are nice enough. I actually ate dinner at the bistro last night because I was too tired to go look for a restaurant. (Perhaps I should’ve gone out to a restaurant somewhere else and napped at the table so I’d have gotten at least some rest.) Dinner was pretty good and reasonably priced. If you absolutely, positively have to stay here, get a room on the side of the hotel away from the road. If they can’t accommodate you, go elsewhere. Pitching a tent in the park behind the hotel would give a much more restful night’s sleep. Please, oh please, don’t bother posting one of the form messages about how important my feedback is and how you’ve passed along my information to the property management as you strive for excellence – those form letters are more meaningless than just ignoring our posts.
