"Our get away...."
We have been looking for a place to stay several weeks at a time...near Buckeye where my sister lives for some time. She suggested trying this place. We found the persons running it very nice and very helpful. Anytime we looked confused they stepped in. We were upstairs in the 632 (I think) We were not give an option but are 80s and stairs not good. […] Did not realize that till we got to the room so decided not to go back and see if we could change. Room nice but no better then a lot of the better motel rooms we have stayed in...Like LaFuente in Yuma for under 100 that has nice rooms with microwave, free evening drinks, free breakfast, and beautiful pool and ground ...with friends and relatives invited to share. Wondered if some of the little buildings had kitchen facilities etc. Not really interested in golf as we live on a golf course...Anyhow we did enjoy our stay but will probably be checking out other places to stay down there...Oh my wife said would be nice if you provided more then just two glasses in the room as we did have guests and had to run over to the bar and get some. Meals were excellent.....at the Red? and bar area...as were the pools.. Overall for just a quick visit was great...for staying any length like we want to does not fit in. "Beautiful resort- mediocre service"
Booked two rooms at the same time and exact same type. One was larger with a kitchenette. How does that happen?? I called to complain and I was moved to a comparable room. The customer service for that event was very good. However, that's where it ends......the guys played golf and felt like they were "bothering" the golf course employees, the pool […] was awesome, but, the poolside bar closed at 5p.......not very resort like, ......after making faces, the two female employees took our drink order but we had to go to the Grill Restaurant for food. I booked and paid for two exact rooms at the same time. My friends end up getting a much nicer room with a kitchenette......how does that happen?? The room itself was nice but had few outlets in the room and unless you propped open the patio door, you would be locked out. "Wigwam is no 4 star hotel"
This hotel may be 2 star at best. The buildings have wear and tear like unrepaired water damage in hallway ceilings with drywall falling down; our room carpet was stained and the room was musty. Awnings were missing from many of the rooms. The landscape looked seedy, overgrown and untrimmed. The room key didnt work and we had to wait 20 min on the west […] side of the complex in 109 degrees at 4pm for someone to come. Parking is far from the rooms. The main pool had music so loud we had to carry our food across the resort to the Oasis pool. We asked for late checkout and were told that was fine. The housekeeping person came banging on the doir at 9am and woke us!! Totally would not recommend this place. The only high marks are for great service from Daniel at the main pool bar/restaurant and the man who checked us in. The extra $20 resort fee is an insult. "My second trip..Not as glamorous"
My first trip to the WigWam a year ago was magical...unfortunately that is where the good news for them ends this time. I booked with high expectations and felt cheated by treatment by staff and accommodations. When we first arrived, the room was awkwardly spacious for a king room and actually there were some questions for cleanliness. We were told […] we could go to the WigWam bar, sit anywhere and we'd be served. We waited for 15 to 20 minutes for a drink order, which didn't come for another 10 minutes. The food actually did not taste as good as I remember and the server was missing for most of our visit, as we only received one refill. We attempted to look past this and went to the pool, which was crowded with a lot of noise. In previous experience, it was more relaxing, quiet and calm. So, we wanted to take the high road and enjoy LItchfield's which online said it was open until 11 p.m. When I called to verify a reservation, the woman stated we close at 9 (it was 8:45 p.m.) and then hung up. I understand having a lot of phone calls, but a recommendation about where to go next would have been nice, or even an apology for any confusion. We played golf, which was actually really wonderful and I enjoy their golf courses. I am so disappointed in the treatment by staff and the cleanliness of our room.
