This is a nice older style resort. Multiple golf courses and reasonable rates to golf. We had a Fairway facing Casita room which was big enough for 2 kids and 2 adults. Rooms were clean and staff was friendly. Pool was heated so we were able to use at all hours. The Tower pool waterslides were only open on the weekend, so that was disappointing. I stayed here in the late '70s and loved the quiet and beauty. The open areas within the grounds have been converted to more accommodations and the fields have filled with housing. The room was not what I thought I would be. It was old looking with the carpet coming up around the edges of the room. The decor was old and looked outdated. The maintained grounds are beautiful. The proximity to the baseball spring training facilities was great. Only problem was the air-conditioner was motion sensor controlled and would shut off several times during the night. Overall, the Wigwam was lovely; one can feel the history everywhere. The pools were well maintained and gorgeous. The only major disappointment was the lack of special diet options. I can't have gluten, dairy or soy so I had to modify the menu options and yet was charged for the menu meal (ex. I had hamburger with no bun, no cheese, no extras, and was […] charged as if I had them all.
