This was our 1st time there. Our experience was amazing! The staff was kind, helpful, and always willing to accommodate our needs! We felt like we were treated exceptionally well. "My second trip..Not as glamorous"
My first trip to the WigWam a year ago was magical...unfortunately that is where the good news for them ends this time. I booked with high expectations and felt cheated by treatment by staff and accommodations. When we first arrived, the room was awkwardly spacious for a king room and actually there were some questions for cleanliness. We were told […] we could go to the WigWam bar, sit anywhere and we'd be served. We waited for 15 to 20 minutes for a drink order, which didn't come for another 10 minutes. The food actually did not taste as good as I remember and the server was missing for most of our visit, as we only received one refill. We attempted to look past this and went to the pool, which was crowded with a lot of noise. In previous experience, it was more relaxing, quiet and calm. So, we wanted to take the high road and enjoy LItchfield's which online said it was open until 11 p.m. When I called to verify a reservation, the woman stated we close at 9 (it was 8:45 p.m.) and then hung up. I understand having a lot of phone calls, but a recommendation about where to go next would have been nice, or even an apology for any confusion. We played golf, which was actually really wonderful and I enjoy their golf courses. I am so disappointed in the treatment by staff and the cleanliness of our room. This hotel is spread out with lots of open green spaces. Great pool with a slide. They have ping pong tables, bicycles you can rent, fabulous restaurant on site. Rooms are huge. Well we were staying at another hotel and were not satisfied with it, so we decided to switch to the Wigwam. Best choice we made! The hotel itself has beautifully landscaped grounds, fantastic pools, and the Wigwam Bar had great food with outdoor seating near Bocce ball courts and other games where the kids could stay entertained while eating. The concierge went above & beyond for us (had contacted her several times pre-vacation & all requests were handled promptly) & the front desk clerks/operator were wonderful. Had 1 minor housekeeping issue, which was promptly resolved by not only the housekeeper, but also her supervisor. The […] rooms were older, but had been remodeled & were clean, comfy & spacious (the bathroom was HUGE & we had a walk in closet!). Had a few minor service issues - golf staff didn't honor discount (given by another site) & had difficulty getting service 4 of the 5 times we tried to eat outside (at the Tower Pool, Reds & the Bar...each time I had to get our own menus & find someone to serve us). There were about 4 other families there to check in.. 1 ahead of us and 3 behind us. I spent the weekend with my girlfriend at the Wigwam. Her parents also had a room. My daughter and her family live in the area and visited with us while we were there. The resort is definitely top-notch; slightly dated but in great shape. We had a suite which worked out great because our entire crew was able to gather together and "hang out". The only reason I didn't give it a 5 rating for hotel staff is because our "wait staff" was slow in clearing our plates in the dining room for our Saturday evening meal which isn't a big deal but when you pay big bucks (and it was big bucks), you really expect perfection. We also had a little communication problem with our order; again, not a big deal but noticeable. Grounds of the resort are very nice, the fire pits around were very enjoyable to relax by. Rooms were great. We witnessed an employee at Litchfields restaurant verbal attack on an employee that was trying to provide great customer service.
