Great hotel to stay at in Waikiki! The room was clean and the complimentary breakfast was surprisingly good! I thought it would just be muffins and bagels, but they had waffles or french toast, egg sandwiches, miso soup, oatmeal, fresh fruit, and a few more breakfast items I wasn't expecting. They do have a pigeon problem, but the staff does a pretty […] good job of "shooing" them away from your table. The gym was decent. Had several treadmills and elliptical machines, and only had dumbbells, no weight machines. But it was probably better that way, otherwise I probably would've spent too much time in there working out and not enjoying the weather and outdoor activities Oahu had to offer. The hotel is located only a couple blocks away from the beach and that part of the beach isn't as crowded as the others in Waikiki. The center of Waikiki seemed to be more crowded than the beaches closer to Diamond Head. Free wi-fi definitely helped during our stay. All in all it was a great choice and I would probably stay here again. The price is right and it is in a great location. Read more

The hotel was very clean, neatly decorated and in an awesome location - less than 3 minute walk to Waikiki Beach. The room was a bit on the smaller side, but maybe this was due to the fact that prior to coming to stay here, we were in Maui for many nights at a very resort-like hotel with huge space. The hotel staff was attentive, but no special or extra […] niceties. Upon arrival I asked the reception to bring the luggage to our room, and it took nearly an hour. Also when I asked about parking options, they didn't care to explain to us what/where the self-parking location was so we just resorted to finding it on our own, which was diagonally across the street from the hotel. No major complaints, and you can save a decent sum of money by staying at this hotel - probably at the same level of accommodation provided by the beachfront properties nearby but definitely cheaper by being not right on the beach. It is a super short walk to the beach and on the way there you can stop by the ABC store, etc to get your daily needs. Read more

Bed was very comforatble. Cleanliness was just OK...didn't consistenlty clean the bathroom thoroughly. Air conditioning was controlled through a remote control that no one told me about...had to call maintenance to update the settings and even afterwards the room was either very cold or very warm.

What an excellent stay, only half a block off the beach. The good peeps at Hyatt got us in a room four hours early at no extra expense - thank you! The room had everything we could have wanted - view of the ocean; extra-comfy bed; huge crisp television (need to buy an LG now), attractive decor; 24 hour food and beverage (booze 'til 4am) and Starbucks […] coffee served in the lobby. Terrence in particular was a treat to work with - thank you, Terrence! Three small notes: the bathroom lock was broken - it looked like it had been kicked-in and badly repaired; had to go to the lobby to get ice, which from the 12th floor was slightly inconvenient; and the print on the wall had some sort of gross stain on it... I don't even want to know. These things, while pesky, were insignificant in comparison to the rest of the hotel's features. Thank you, Hyatt! Read more

We stayed in this hotel two times always for 5 nights during our family vacation to Hawaii.First time we had a ocean view standard room which was not what we expected because the balcony is very small and the view is very limited because of other hotels staying closer to the beach.But for the second time we got a standard room with the view at Diamond […] Head with two queen beds as we wished and the room number 1141 was great!! Large enough and comfortable for the family wih 2 children. Just a bit of musty smell in the room was a minus point. Also the breakfast included is very usefull even if there are not many variaties and even if you may have problem to find a seat in the busy morning. If so you still can bring your breakfast in your room. Just the swimming pool is very very small. My husband and I stayed at Hyatt Place Waikiki for two nights while we drove around Oahu. It was a great place to rest our heads in between our sightseeing endeavors. I chose the Hyatt Place because of its brand recognition as I didn't want to chance on getting a lemon.

Great economical place to stay near the beach. Excellent gym facility and the staff was super helpful. There is a convenience store in the hotel that has a good selection of products and more reasonalbly priced than other stores. Only complaint is the breakfast that got a little boring-but what you do you expect for free?

Not sure why this got so many low reviews. But if you dont need to be right there on the beach, this hotel is a 2 block walk to the beach. ABC store 1/2 a block...everything you need is well within walking distance. This being a Hyatt Place, it lives up to brand expectations if you have stayed at one. We used it as a place to sleep and HQ our gear for […] our day trips so for that purpose it was great. Our room was right around the corner from the elevator and I was worried it would be a problem...but for 3 days we didnt even notice it! Im sure there are higher end hotels out there, but of course you are going to be paying bigger bucks for it! This is an exceptional place at a reasonable price for the area. Our hotel was recently remodeled which made it very appealllng .It was two blocks from the beach and in an excellent location in Waikiki.Every tour we took had pick up at our hotel or across the street.The hotel staff from the front desk to the cleaning people did a very good job.I give them a overall 4 because we booked our room 5 months in advance […] for our anniversary and booked a room with a king size bed with water view and it was not available when we checked in.We were given compensation for their error and we did recieve an upgraded room to the penthouse floor, but would have rather had what we booked given our occasion there. Overall had a pleasant stay except for the worst hotel breakfast I have ever had. Poor selection of items and only egg option was egg patty with ham on muffin and no one in my party could finish it and would rather eat airline eggs before I eat that again. Valet parking is expensive. You cannot take drinks (alcohol) from their 24 hr. service/bar up to your room. "Ocean View" is extremely limited. Buffet is good. Location is excellent, just one block off the beach. Staff were all very helpful.

Location was great, however the hotel shows its age. Breakfast buffet was included in the price, no hot selection available. Also we had to bus our own table, take the dirty dishes to the kitchen. This is unusual for Wakki and this hotel chain standards.

This was the nicest hotel we've stayed at. Continental breakfast was nice. Front desk service was great. Housekeeping could have been better, they weren't very friendly. Had to call a few times to get coffee packs and clean cups and glasses. I would stay here again definitely.
