The hotel was ok considering the price but the shuttle service they offered was very unreliable. We waited 2 hours at the airport for pickup. Upon return from a cruise, the driver almost left without us because he did not get out of the van and announce where he was going (as all other drivers did because you could not read the name on the vans from […] where we had to wait and they had to park). Stayed for business. It took me hours until my room was ready. I was shuffled into four rooms. Sort of a sketchy neighborhood too. One of the two receptionists was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast lady was very friendly and re-stocked food well. The staff was rude. It is in a terrible neighborhood. The room was deep dirty. Tar-like spots on the bathroom floor. Even the literature had grime on it. "Close to the beach but in much needed remodeling."
I had stayed in this hotel before because of its proximity to Clubs and the beach. However, the conditions of the hotels keep getting worst and it is very unlikely that I will return. Ten minutes into our arrival we had to switch rooms as the original room smelled extemely bad; cigattes smoke, don't see how they can ever get that smell out of that room. […] The second room smelled better but the bathtub needed cleaning, the toilet wsa cracked, the lamp shade had a hole, and the airconditioning wall unit made more noise than a deisel truck. Furthermore, the interior of the elevator was dirty, nasty, missing some of its molding. No I am not a spoiled brat but trust me when I say that this hotel is a "2" and thats because of it proximity to Las Olas, the beach, clubs, and the major expressway. "Huge Issues with the airport transportation"
We stayed the night before going on a cruise. The staff was polite and we were dropped off free of charge at the cruise port. The issue that we had was the transportation from the air port to the hotel. We called the hotel and were told that a van would be coming to pick us up. We waited about 30mins before a Quality Inn marked van arrived. The van […] didn't stop even though we were waving and the driver drove off. It looked to us like the van was empty. After another 10mins another marked Quality Inn van arrived, which was packed. The driver brought us to a different Quality Inn in Fort Lauderdale. The driver refused to take us to this Quality Inn. My husband was so frustrated at this point, he called a cab to drive us the 10mins to the correct Quality Inn. "Terrible house keeping dept"
Check in line was long as there was only one person on staff. Not a big deal. Got into room and there were 2 wet towels hanging on the back on the bathroom door. Really!? Then went to flush toilet and it wouldnt flush. Called front desk,same person who checked us in, and she said no one was abailable to fix toilet. She offered to give us a different […] room. It was right next to 1st one but i had to go get keys. And then... there was another dirty towel hanging on the back of that door! This was late so we opted just to stay and sleep. I told the night lady i wanted speak to manager in morn and she said mgr would be in at 930am or 10. Well we were signed up for 9am transport to airport. In morning i explained issue to morning lady and that i wanted the mgr call me. I also verified that we were on 9am shuttle to airport. We wete in the lobby at 850am am with our luggage waiting for shuttle 10ft away from front desk lady. At 910am i adked about the shuttle. She said she saw it drive away. What!? Thk god the mgr was actually in and i was eventually able to talk to her. The front desk lafy spent about 5 min with mgr b4 i was allowed in. I explained everything to linda the mgr. She called in the head housekeeper and the front desk lady re 2 main issues... dirty towels in "cleaned" rooms and the unexplained unannounced shuttle pick up deal. After waiting in line for 10 minutes, I finally spoke up and asked if we pre-paid, can we just leave our key cards and the gentleman behind the counter said YES. He should have announced this when the line formed or have a sign that states you can leave your key cards if you pre-paid. Half the people in line left their cards and thanked me for speaking up.
