Literally, the best suite we have ever been so far.... clean, comfy, very hommy. Too bad it was raining so we dont get to use the pool and whirlpool.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice place to stay, will come again"
We spent 2 nights there. Location is good, just 10 minutes drive to downtown. Quite surroundings, nice staff. Sunday breakfast is good. We had the studio room which is big enough for our four-legged family member to exercise. We love the full kitchen, too. Next time when we travel to Portland, will definitely stay in the same hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Good for the overnight stays"
The location is good if you're looking for something close to the shopping areas! Quick drive into town. Room was quiet but hotel service was okay. Phone was out of order and maintenance didn't know how to fix nor followed up as he said he would. Bed is very comfortable. Got a great price through Expedia!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"everything is fine except for one small defect"
When customer had complain about your service, you must have some problems existence. The best way is to improve the quality of your hotel, and let customer know your royal manner ASAP. If the house-manager Spring promised what she will do, she had to follow her words. On the other hand, you will have reputation risk.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"A wonderful stay - every time!"

I travel for work and have stayed in a lot of hotels in the Portland area. This location is very comfortable and great amenities. The breakfasts are excellent and the evening meals are very nice. A simple good meal without having to go out. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. I may not be at home but I am able to relax and enjoy my stay. And the best part of this location is the staff. They are friendly and truly care about making you feel like family and not just a guest. This location is a bright spot when traveling. If you are looking for a place to stay, relax, and feel welcomed, this is the place in the Portland area.
"Older property still excellent choice"

The Residence Inn South in Lake Oswego, OR was among the first built (mid-late 70's) but has been well maintained over the years. My wife and I stay there frequently and am always impressed by how clean the housekeeping staff keeps the rooms. The rooms are well maintained by the staff also. The Gatehouse has been recently updated-the morning breakfast menu is excellent ( as you will find in all Residence Inns. Even though the facility is close to I-5 it is extremely quiet. A number of good restaurants are within walking distance. Front desk staff are top-notch also. Everyone has a smile and greeting for you at any time of the day.

Pros: Dogs allowed - plenty of walking area, super clean, very friendly staff, very nice breakfast, 24 hour coffee/tea, excellent game room with free air-hockey & electronic darts, very nice pool/jacuzzi and a nice workout room. Also close to several restaurants. Cons: Smoking area is too close to the pool, no make-up wipes (not a big deal but so nice when hotels have them as part of their amenities) If I could stay at a hotel like this in every city I travel too, traveling would be so much more relaxing!
"Wonderful location and fantastic staff!"

My husband and I were residents at this hotel for about 5 1/2 months while our home was being repaired from water damage. The pet-friendly hotel was perfect for us with our dogs, as the property is quiet with ample spaces to walk the dogs without being crowded by other people or animals (neither of our dogs get along well with other dogs). The amenities of the hotel were fabulous - hot breakfast every day of the week, dinners 3 nights per week, pool, hot tub, game room, sports court, free wi-fi, and spacious, comfortable rooms. The best part of this hotel, however, was by far the staff. We were always in good hands with Alex (who checked us in the first day and smoothly dealt with the insurance company's requirements/faxes/requests promptly & professionally. She helped make an extremely stressful situation easier for us and I appreciate that SO much!). Ezzie (I'm sorry if I misspelled her name!) was ALWAYS so wonderfully friendly in the mornings - wishing me a good day, genuinely happy to greet guests, and always so very accommodating whenever I had any questions. I appreciated Serena's help with faxing documents to the insurance company and for her outgoing friendly attitude. She is extremely good at helping guests get settled into their new surroundings and patient with questions! Brittney always made me laugh and was a fabulous resource for any questions I had. Throughout our stay, my weekday mornings were always brightened by Barb. Barb's smile and warm greeting as I was packing up my breakfast for the day was something I looked forward to. She is a delightful person with such a talent for putting people at ease! She is approachable and accommodating to any guest who has questions regarding the breakfast. I also want to thank Pam for feeding us for so many months! Overall, our experience here was very positive. Though we were displaced from our home and experiencing a stressful time negotiating with insurance companies and contractors, we easily settled into the hotel. Very soon, it became "home" for us, thanks to the wonderful staff & lovely grounds. I will always look back on our time here fondly and miss the quiet places I found throughout the property to sit, relax, and just enjoy the moment. I also still miss those Belgian waffles!!
"Unusual and Special Residence Inn"

Perfect location to tour Willamette Valley, Portland or lovely Lake Oswego. Highway connections close. This hotel has large studios, one bedrooms with two baths - bedroom upstairs and the living room plus kitchen downstairs and a similar layout for two bedrooms. The two levels increase the space and provide privacy plus it gave me a work space in the am and late evening so I could work while my wife slept. The staff was exceptional and no request was not honored including that my wife made for rubber kitchen gloves which were obtained in no time. There is a Trader Joes actually within walking distance as well. We actually prefer a standard Marriot but for our 3 night stay this was perfect. Do get the one bedroom at least. And, while some of the furniture was worn it did not detract from our visit. Lake Oswego is special and has several very good and fine restaurants
"My New Home away from home!!"

Stayed here recently for a work trip. I really enjoyed this Residence Inn compared to some of the other Inn's The location was ideal for my business in Lake Oswego, Hillsboro, Tigard, and downtown Portland. Very easy access to Interstate 5, close by restaurants, coffee house(s), etc. The rooms were quite comfortable, very clean, and well sized. I never even made it to the upstairs room, as I was traveling by myself. The morning breakfast was very good, with plenty of items to choose from. The evening "Drinks & Appetizers" was my dinner, as there was a good amount of food. Front desk team was on it, they answered every question, explained the hotel grounds, nearby restaurants, as well as she even drew me a map to show me where to buy some items I needed from a grocery store, and details on how to find the Golf Course I needed to be at the next morning at 7:00AM. Great job team. Thank you, and I look forward to seeing you again.
"Missing personal belongings! Credit card charged early!"
09/07/14 Jaclyn H Vancouver, Canada
We (family of 6) spent the weekend here and had a questionable experience. Most notably, NARS tinted moisturizer ($40+) and a razor ($15) went missing the first night. We figured that we had misplaced it, so we waited until the last day when everything was packed up to let the hotel front desk know that the items were indeed missing. The clerk wrote it down on a piece of paper and said she would "check." Not sure what that means, but we definitely never heard back. On another note, we are from Canada so we wanted to pay our hotel bill in cash to avoid Visa charges. We let the front desk clerk know this on the first day and we went to pay at 7AM on our check-out day. Turns out it is "hotel policy" to charge a credit card the night before check-out. I've definitely never stayed at a hotel where that is accepted practice! The hotel staff should let you know ahead of time that that's their policy - we lost $70 on the transaction. Considering the credit card charges and missing items, we are out $100+ on silly (intentional?) mistakes by the hotel. I would recommend finding another place to avoid these antics.
"Lousy bed and outdated room"
09/04/14 Jackson R Buffalo, New York
For the $149 plus tax I paid for this room, I was very disappointed. I realize Residence Inn is not Marriott's luxury brand, but this place made Days Inn look fancy. The old carpet smelled foul (it had carpet for baseboards which makes me think it's from the 70s) and the mattress was so uncomfortable. Bedding and pillows were also cheap. On a positive note, the fitness center was decent and the front desk staff was welcoming. The breakfast was also above average, but the none make up for the terrible night's sleep and condition of the outdated room. The guy upstairs stomped around under very late at night and I realize the hotel could only do so much about that. Nonetheless, I'll be at the Hilton Garden Inn around the corner next time I'm in the area.
"Friendly staff, well serviced hotel."

We spent a week at this location. Though it's not really near anything that we were interested in and despite being close to the Freeway, we found it quiet. Our room was well equipped for a family and it's great to have a full kitchen and full size refrigerator when staying for a week. Breakfast was more than I'm used to in similar hotels and the offerings changed every day. The service at breakfast was really good and staff wanted you to have a good experience and a good meal.
"Comfortable place to stay"

Standard Residence Inn property. Nice to have a full kitchen. Microwave popcorn provided. Easy access to freeway without hearing the road noise. Very friendly staff. Rooms were nice and clean. Easy drive to Lake Oswego and fairly easy drive up to Portland.
