"Hotel near all sites in New York"
Hotel location is great, but the hotel is not sound proof enough, could heard all the bagging of doors, elevator, but overall the stay was pleasant.Genuine Expedia guest review
It was perfect because we could park our car there, drop our bags off, and start seeing the sites right around us and if you are a little lost on where to begin there is a concierge who can help you tune in to all the sight seeing options, times, and prices! However the actual accommodation is small, the door to the view outside was locked, and to see […] a movie at bed you have to call down to the front desk to get them to turn it on. Good place to stay with a familly of a total of 4 . Very good location W South of Central Park.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very nice, the staff was very friendly. We will definitely stay there again when we go back. Hotel was close to everything.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good location for everything"
This hotel was a good value for its location. We could walk to almost all the major tourist sites. The room was clean and comfortable, which is all I need in a hotel when it's just a place to sleep and shower. No free breakfast, but there are plenty of places close by to get breakfast. Overall, I was pleased with this hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Pretty good overall"
It's clean, comfortable, conveniently located and the staff was helpful when we had questions. Two minor issues: 1) We asked for a rollaway bed when making the reservation (for 5 nights) but when we arrived at 10 p.m. there were none left. They said that these are provided each day "first-come first-served". So for the first night I slept on a mattress […] on the floor that they provided. We got the rollaway bed after that. 2) WiFi works best in the lobby. In the room, we couldn't get attachments to load and send. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Worst place to stay"
I book hotel at hotel.com for 2 beds receive 1king. They did accommodate the next day had to pay rollaway for 1night. Bummer.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel~walking distance to many activities"
The hotel was nice, under construction in the tower we were originally put in so they moved us to another tower. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. It was there choice to move us because of the construction on our floor and they comp'd us with a free meal at the restaurant.Genuine Expedia guest review
The room was clean but the bed was squeaky. The air conditioner did not cool the room all night. It was next to the elevators and was noisy. The parking garage charged me $30 to park and when I left 2 hours later to go to the airport, they charged me $27 more. Would never go back.Genuine Expedia guest review
just needs to be better temperature control in the room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was awesome. The staff was amazing, extremely helpful and friendly The location was perfect. I would definitely stay there againGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good midtown location"
nice hotel in interesting midtown area. room clean, missed only minibar or icebox, had to cool drinks on old air condition cooler.Genuine Expedia guest review
Overall stay was satisfactory. We had to keep asking for shampoo, conditioner and body lotion. Dishes were not taken out of the room when it was cleaned, when we had room service. TV kept going off, had maintenance up once, but after that we just couldnt be bothered. Bathroom needed cleaning and updating. I guess I was a little disappointed as this […] was the first visit to New York for my niece. Rest of the hotel was clean/friendly and informative. Location was ideal for us, as we wanted to be in the hub of things. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Gross room.What's with the pool?"
This hotel is trashy. Washroom was just disgusting. The wallpaper was hanging off. The ceiling fan didn't work so there was mold all on the ceiling, just not what I would expect from holiday inn. The carpet was dirty, I had to wear my shoes in the room. Just overall it was gross. Room 806. The pool is only open from 10am to 6 pm so really it is never […] open. Also I don't know who the guy with the white huge moustache is but he is always watching guest for them to mess up. My kids put there feet on the couch in the lobby and he told them to return to there room. What a control freak. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice clean place to stay!"
My daughters and I spent a fabulous 8 days in NY. I knew this was a good hotel for us since we stayed here before. We loved the staff and had no problems except for the sounds of drilling and hammering and new hotel furniture sitting out up and down the whole 4th floor. It was hard to get over all the white wall board particles all over the hallway […] floor. I am sure though, that once this construction is finish with it will be a nice, clean place to stay. We plan on returning and will definitely stay here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Location of hotel is great for Subway, Central Park and food! H Kitchen area is just a stone throw away! We took a walk to theater district an Times Sq. The facilities of hotel is dated but acceptable. I understand that they have already started renovation. Met a couple of unfriendly staff at the reception which really took points off.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was great! Friendly staff very helpful. Restaurant was good, wait staff was superb! Close to everything. The a/c could have been a little colder. Overall this is a great place! Would stay here anytime. Pool was great!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Affordable stay in a nice area"
We loved the rooftop pool! The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The elevators were slow but that was expected in an older building. The room was very spacious - no refrigerators though. Just a few blocks from Central Park, Columbus Circle and subway stops.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"New York experience"
Great Hotel to stay in although a little far from the night life of broadway. Staff was super friendly and always willing to answer any questions or help in any way! The only thing that was disappointing is that the pool closed to early 6pm is when the time for the pool is needed. Other than that very nice place to stay!Genuine Expedia guest review
The stay is not worth the money, rooms smelt like mold, the staff where rude....Genuine Expedia guest review

"All the must haves in a great location."
The location is great and we were grateful to have the swimming pool during a prolonged heat wave. Elevators are too slow to accommodate heavy traffic. Took the stairs down from the 14th floor a couple times to avoid a wait. That's the only complaint I have. I's stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great price Great location"
My 10 year old daughter and I stated at Holiday Inn Midtown 57th for 3 nights on our New York vacation. Loved the location. Subway 2 blocks away, Central Park and Columbus Circle in walking distance. Roof top pool was great. They are doing updates. The only thing I wish was different would be the pool hours. My daughter and I would have loved the pool […] to be open later than 6pm. Will surely stay here in the future. Some of the reviews are misleading....If you want a $500 dollar a night room. Pay for one. If you want a nice hotel in a good location for a fair price you cant go wrong. All of the staff were very nice and would answer and questions myself or my daughter asked...and being our 1st trip to the city we had several. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"The hotel needs major improvements"
Eventhough the location of the hotel is excellent and the staff is extremely courteous and attentive, the inside of the hotel is not. They are currently renovating the rooms, but such renovation is only cosmetic when the hotel needs more improvements. The baths have not been remodeled in years. The grout is old and the the bathroom door has been painted […] several times and you could see the coats of paint over chipped paint. The air conditioner did not worked. The engineering department checked it out and still I ended up sweating all night long for the three days I stayed. They are currently remodeling rroms. I was told that it was done by floor and that it would be seamless. First of all, the truck showed up early in the morning in the front of the hotel and when I went down for breakfast they were trying to take all the furniture up through the same elevators as the guests. More than the logistical nighmare, at the end of the day, they did several rooms in the floor I was in and they did not even vacum the carpet and there were foam chips everywhere. In addition, the old furniture stayed in the hallways until the next day. Finally they should change the elevators, they are as old al the building and they do not feel safe. "Need more elevators"
Overall nice. Hard to get an elevator in the morning. All of them were full and slow. Had to catch one going up in order to come back down.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
All I need to say is that we had to request two fans because the air conditioner was so horrible!Genuine Expedia guest review
Everyone was very nice but disappointed that the air conditioner did not cool the room down and that the bathroom could have used a clorox pen to the grout it was gross looking. But otherwise great location and the room size was big.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Has a Pool"
A little off the beaten path. Would not stay there if I was spending a lot of time on the eastside of town. Room was fine bathroom was a bit dated. Good value for NYC.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Price was too tempting"
With my family of 4, couldn't resist the price. With that being said...we should have. Older rooms, horrible AC, ancient elevators and a shower that would never get cold enough. Great Bar- amazing rooftop pool with a bar. That was phenomenal, otherwise just soso at best.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location for a walk around Manhattan"
Hotel is under reno, banging and scraping all night and day. The door to our room din't really close correctly, had to slam it. Elevators are old and very slow. This place will prob be much better after they fine the reno.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice location, nice hotel"
Location of this hotel was amazing, we walked to Central park from here, to Empire state building and Times Square. For the wall street and Statue of Liberty we took subway which was not far away from hotel. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The only thing which we hated was wait for elevators, looked like sometimes only one was working and we were […] on 3rd floor. To get to the stairs was impossible, it was locked. Would be nice to be able to get to stairs with my room key. And why do you close pool at 6pm? In NYC? Would be nice to sit at the pool till 10pm or so. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Construction in rooms next door starting at 8 am!"
This was a leisure stay overnight for a friends event, although the room was modernized the AC unit was probably around 20 years old. The controller did not work so it was either brutally cold or hot with turned of AC. The shower was pouring half the water from the bottom faucet and half from top shower head, so the pressure was terrible to say the […] least. But the best part was waking up at 8am to the sounds of hammers and drills from both adjacent rooms! we went out the night before and wanted a nice relaxing morning but we did not get that at all. We also had to walk down the hall sideways due to the boxes and construction supplies in the hallway. This was a terrible experience and will not be staying in this hotel again. Pool was decent but all seats by the pool are reserved for monthly members so to sit down it is a completely different area from which you cannot see your stuff from. "Would NOT stay there again!"
Staff was rude and unhelpful except for one man that helped with finding us a restaurant. Pool closed at 6:00 PM in the summer....so if you have been out sight seeing all day you can't go for a swim in the evening to cool off especially when the weather is hot and humid and you are traveling with children! The printer was not connected to the computer […] to print boarding pass and when I called the IT number that they had listed for help, he was unable to do so remotely. When I went to front desk, the clerk there was rude although she let me use the front desk computer. Several blocks from subway. Rooms were just okay, nothing special. The folding door on the closet was difficult to open and close and it needed to be closed in order to stand at the bathroom sink. It was extremely hard to flush the toilet. "my new favorite nyc hotel"
I was very impressed with hotel. I usually staywith my wife in the westin, sheraton, park central when staying in nyc, this time I was with friends for a weekend and we tried the holiday inn. Mainly because it was cheaper than all of the above. I was more than satisfied with the hotel, and I would gladly stay there again. Swimming pool, bar, room, and […] the staff were all great. One small complaint I would have, the beds could be more comfortable, like the beds in all the top hotels. Otherwise I hope to visit again soon. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Look for another hotel"
Extremely friendly hotel staff, but the condition of the hotel is not satisfactory -Genuine Hotels.com guest review
A lot of noise on the corridor. Early in the morning people using drill and hammer down the wall and yelling each other on the room beside us. I think they should tell you up front when they are renovating close to your room. They close the pool too early (6:00 PM). It's summer time and everybody want to get inside and the pool is close. "Large for a NYC hotel"
The hotel is large for being in NYC especially with two double beds. The staff were courteous especially the housekeeping staff. We had no problems getting a late checkout. The bathroom needs remodeling and showing its wear and rear but I think the hotel is in phases for remodeling. Wwe would definitely stay again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great roof top pool but rooms not great"
My family and I loved the location and the roof top pool at the Holiday Inn on W57th Street, but the rooms and the hotel staff weren't up to par. When we walked down the 3rd floor hall we smelled smoke and when we opened our room door (301) we could smell smoke and it also smelled like a locker room. I immediately called the front desk who said that […] the hotel was non-smoking so it couldn't be smoke unless a guest was smoking illegally but they had no control over that. They said they would send someone to the floor to check. The smell got worse over the 3 days we were there and on the 3rd day my husband was so upset he went to the front desk at 2am only to be told that it was our own fault for not complaining more, sooner. Since we were checking out the next day there was nothing they could do. They did offer to give us a complimentary breakfast the next morning but we had alternate plans outside of the hotel so they took off an existing breakfast charge. Upon check out we were never even asked if we enjoyed our stay. We loved the location and we'd consider staying there again for the pool but now we know you have to complain loudly and quickly and often if you need help with something. "FRIENDLY STAFF, HOTEL NEEDS MAKE-OVER"
The staff at this hotel is extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is under-going renovations and we stayed in one of the renovated rooms, but did not feel as though it was really renovated. Adding a new TV and furniture did not make the room feel new. The BATHROOM was a huge disappointment. That should be their main focus point when renovating. I've […] stayed at many Holiday Inn's and this was the worse bathroom! There's a reason why they don't show a photo of it on their site. Because of the bathroom, I will never stay at this hotel again. The lobby/hallways also need to be updated to the 21st century. The hotel smelled old/rusty. If none of these things matter to you and you're looking for a place to sleep with a friendly staff, then I would recommend this place. It's about a 15 minute walk to Time Square. Also... they did comp our roll-away due to the a/c not working properly. We appreciated that. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel was in a good part of Manhattan; even though it was a couple of blocks from the nearest subway, after an exhausting day of walking, 3 blocks was a long way to walk back to the hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel for a stay in the city"
This hotel was a good price and in a good location for our needs. It was clean and the hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Close to Central Park and other attractions. They also were very helpful when we accidentally left something when we left!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"The pool was the draw for the kids"
The hotel is close to Central Park, but quite a walk to Times Square and the other attractions down in that area. The bathrooms need an update, and the rooms could use refrigerator. The kids loved the pool, though it closed at 6pm, so after a long day of sight seeing, they were unable to use the pool to relax if we got back after 6pm. In order to use […] the pool, you really had to plan it into your day. The room was clean, but the bathroom was very awkwardly shaped and needs updating. Overall, I would recommend this hotel if you have kids and need to watch the budget. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Two and a half blocks from Central Park"
I couldn't be happier with the Holiday Inn Midtown. Slightly over two blocks from Central Park. A few more from Broadway district and a subway at almost every corner.
