The hotel staff is curteous, attentive and willing... to help, although it can be somewhat busy when a convention commeces or ends. Roberts Restaurant - Large gilt mirrors hang on the walls and tall windows overlook the hotel's landscaped grounds; this restaurant serves American and Continental cuisine. Outdoor seating is available on the adjacent terrace in warm weather. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Morsels - Coffee, sandwiches, fruit, and snacks are available in this market off the lobby. Marquee Bar and Lounge - Unwind with a draught beer, homegrown cocktail, or light bite to eat. Open from late afternoon until late night. Nonsmoking. Poolside Bar - Drinks and light fare are served seasonally.

Recreation

The Omni's freeform outdoor pool, children's pool, and spa tub are open from May until October. The fitness center provides saunas, spa-treatment rooms, and an assortment of equipment, including treadmills, stair machines, stationary bikes, free weights, exercise balls, and a rowing machine. The wooded hiking, biking, and riding trails of Rock Creek National Park are one block beyond the hotel grounds. Four miles away, the 18-hole golf course at Hains Point is perched on the banks of the Potomac River. There's a two-tier driving range and a miniature golf course that is listed on the National Register for Historic Places. Nice find in the middle of the city! We've stayed in another hotel very near here and were surprised to find this one so close. Excellent options for food and drink within walking distance. Metro stop also very close (block away). We stayed in the "Parkview" building (circa 1950 or 1960?) but everything was clearly upgraded. Gem of a hotel!

We stayed here during the cherry blossom festival and had a wonderful time. Our room was gorgeous and the staff extremely helpful. What impressed me most were the manicured grounds filled with flowers and the history of the hotel. I will absolutely be returning.

The stay was great. One minor "complaint": I wish the heat and air conditioning was central and not a wall unit. But the thermostat was on the wall, not on the unit.

I loved this hotel. It had so much ambiance and class. The history is fascinating. I gave the condition and maintenance a 4 only because if its age. Luckily we were on the 1st floor so we didn't have to endur the slow elevators. We just took the stairs. But the bathroom was large and the bed was sooooo comfortable!!!

Great place, great location. We were minutes walk from the Zoo and a local Metro station. It is a perfect spot to stay for a family vacation. The only negative is that there is no indoor pool for the kids.

Wonderful hotel with great amentities. I loved the history threaded throughout the hotel. Hotel staff was friendly and very accommodating. Though it was too cold to take a dip in the pool, loved that it was open year round. Great place for families and couples. We had a wonderful stay at the Omni Shoreham during spring break. The staff was wonderful and accommodating. The location is great -- we walked to the zoo twice and were right near the Metro. We had a spacious room with a large walk-in closet, giving us plenty of room with two kids.

This is a true 4-star hotel that doesn't feel big and impersonal. The staff were always pleasant and very helpful. The room was comfortable, quiet and well lit. The bathroom was a little smaller than newer hotels. The location was convenient to dining, the Metro, and the National Zoo. Great, although we found a large insect in the room when we checked in.Hotel manager was very accommodating: offered to change our room-we declined. Manager provided cookies & milk for 8 year old, a fruit & cheese tray with biscuits and spring water, and a nice food comp to offset the problem. Very nice gestures.

Hotel was fine but service not great. One day we came back to find only 1 towel for 2 of us, another day no additional toilet paper was left. It seemed i had to call for something every day! It was very busy due to a big conference, but I still would expect basic necessities!

Beatles stayed here in the 60s.The hotel has old world charm and is where Bill Clinton played the sax. Room old fashioned clean and nice. Breakfast buffet excellent. Desk staff very courtly and helpful.

The Omni Shoreham is a historic hotel for Entertainers and Presidents in Washington DC. It is also a very nice place to stay. Second time - standards are maintained. Room is comfortable, spacious, and regularly cleaned on time. Toiletries fully refilled everyday! Check-in and Check-out smooth and fast. Lifts are a little slow but acceptable in this […] 8 storey building - which is also old. However, the decor and cleanliness of the public areas and the rooms are impressive. We always stay at the Omni Shoreham when we visit DC. The neighborhood is easy to get around and across from the hotel is the pick up station for the Old Towne Trolley. That was wildly convenient for us since we used it for sightseeing in DC (also, highly recommended!). The staff at the Omni is consistently reliable and professional - particularly the […] Concierge.
