"Honeymooners enjoy Ombi"
It was a honey moon (one of several). We were in the annex. We enjoyed it very much. Some electric outlets weren't working. Also better lighting would be appreciated in the main bedroom.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice area to stay. Great restaurant across the street (Open City). Nice staff. Very Happy.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I found my stay to be enjoyable. The hotel itself does not have many attractions. It is situated close to the Metro which is very convenient and has some very good restaurants across the street. I enjoyed walking to Adams Morgan area and exploring that neighborhood and shops. The room was on the 7th floor overlooking the capital area. Due to the age […] of the hotel the bathroom area was a little awkward and cramped but the room was spacious and adequate for my needs. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"nice hotel, close to metro, close to resturants"
Beautiful rooms, wonderful staff. Attentive staff. Wonderful bell boy. Good breakfast. Good internet facility, though had to pay to watch new movies. Rooms made up on time. Spacious room, coffee, ice block, refrigerators all for great comfort.Genuine Expedia guest review
"nice but noisy"
Could hear the traffic from the road. Asked for a room on other side and not available. Nice big room though.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The Omni Shorham is my hotel of choice when I travel to Washington, D.C. it's one of D.C.'s historic hotels. The Omni hosted dignitaries who attended President Kennedy's funeral, the Beattles, Frank Sinatra just to name a few. It's located about 0.5 miles from the National Zoo. The Metro subway station is a short walk from the hotel. I recommend using […] the subway to get to other points of interest in our nations capital since it's hard to find parking. You can take it to go to the Capital, National Mall, and Arlington National Cemetary. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Family trip to D.C"
Wonderful 4 days! Beautiful hotel with the friendliest and most accommodating staff we've ever experienced. Great location! Short walk to metro. Would highly recommend this hotel to family and friends.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Except weathered windows which made it hard to see out, it was all great.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Decent Stay in DC"
We ended up staying here because it was a conference Hotel choice. The price on Hotels.com ended up being better than the conference negotiated rate. The hotel was overall 4/5 stars: This is a solid and decent hotel but was just a little overpriced due to the conference. One day I ended up spilling coffee on the bed and the staff took care of it right […] away. The only complaint we have is they double billed us after already being paid for on the Hotels.com website. The staff took care of removing this but could be a problem if it was not caught. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Mediocre stay in DC"
I am a frequent traveller to DC and the only reason I ever choose to stay at the Omni is the price and the neighborhood not the hotel. The hotel lobby is lovely but the rooms themselves are uninspiring and the bed and sheets quite uncomfortable. The hotel is massive and if you stay on the park view side be prepared to walk for 15 to get to your room. […] My TV didn't work and it took and hour for it to be fixed. "Historic Hotel in DC"
I've stayed at the Shoreham on at least fifteen occasions and have never been disappointed. I've been to most of the four and five star hotels in DC and this is my favorite.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Let the Buyer Beware"
First problematic issue: The room I booked through Expedia, a deluxe double suite, was not the room Omni had associated with my Itinerary number. Second problematic issue: In attempting to get all of this corrected, it appears from reviewing my bank account online, I was doubled charged. It also appears I was doubled for the $41 per day valet parking. […] Now that I'm back home (some 800 miles away) I can only hope they will be fair in correcting these problems. Moreover, I do no think I will use Expedia again for any "discount" booking. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
We had a wonderful visit with our son. The hotel was clean and pleasant. Unfortunately we were not able to sleep very well because the bed was extremely soft. We did talk to the desk about the situation but nothing was done.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A classic Grand Hotel in DC"
We stayed four nights at the Shoreham for a Thanksgiving visit with family and friends, and enjoyed it very much. Our room was spacious and comfortable, overlooking the outdoor pool. The staff was efficient and friendly. The location could not be better--5 minutes walk from the Metro Red Line, an easy walk to the National Zoo, and close to the bustling […] Adams Morgan area. There are several restaurants close by, and the hotel serves a very nice breakfast/brunch on weekends. We only had two minor issues: (a)there was inadequate hot water in the shower one morning, and (b) the printer in the internet room did not work when we tried to print our boarding passes. Both issues were quickly taken care of by the staff. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The Omni Shoreham is an excellent hotel, with a long history. It's conveniently located to many places in D.C., very close to the Metro station, and has great amenities. It's extremely affordable for the quality of service you receive. The staff is very professional and courteous. They are also very nice with young guests, offering them a welcome gift […] with crayons and activity books, and bringing milk and cookies to their room every evening. Highly recommended! "very nice hotel, but small room"
We stayed in this hotel many times, however, this is the smallest room we ever got (might be due to booking through hotel.com?). The hotel is beautiful, but our room is okay. The bathroom is very small with a wobbly toilet (we did report to the front desk upon checking out and they said they would fix it). The floor was not very clean after we came […] back from our outing as if they did not vacuum it. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great hotel in great neighborhood"
Great hotel in a wonderful neighborhood with everything needed close at hand. Staff very nice, hotel beautifully decorated for Christmas. Very comfortable bed and room. We had a great stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This is a beautiful, upscale hotel and I highly enjoyed my stay there. Visually, it is stunning. There is so much attention to detail. The chandeliers sparkle, the glass doors are crystal clear, the lobby is impeccable and the dining room is simply fabulous. The wallpaper in the hallways even match the bedspreads! I had a corner room that was very quiet. […] The cleaning service did a beautiful job each day and the hotel employees were very accommodating. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone going to Washington D.C. My only complaint would be the menu prices. A continental breakfast buffet for 4 people shouldn't cost upwards of $100. Two kids' meals, listed at $9 each, came to a little over $27 once all the delivery charges, gratuity and tax were figured in. I also found the menu itself a little lacking in variety, but that is more personal preference, I think, than anything else. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Tiny bathroom in an otherwise good hotel"
Bathroom was too small and the sink could not hold my shaving stuff. Excellent location of the hotel, with good amenities. The king size bed was firm and we slept well.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very beautiful. The rooms were dated."
The rooms need some TLC. Wood framing and paint are rotting. Parking of course was steep, $44 a night. A lot of history to the hotel and good service overall.Genuine Expedia guest review
Perfect location. A terrific hotel with a rich history. The mattresses do need updating though ... a little too soft for our liking.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I will definitely continue to stay at this Omni when I visit family in DC. It was safe, clean, very comfortable bed, and quiet. My room was in an older part but it was charming. I also loved the area. A quick walk to the National Zoo, Cathedral and wonderful restaurants.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Should've Researched More Before Booking"
Stay was Mediocre, Staff very friendly. Parking Cost was Ridiculous (40.50 for 1 night). The King Deluxe Room was extremely small and the ventilation system was the worst. It's an older building so it didn't have Central AC--so it was Extremely hot w/the heat on, and freezing with it off. Our noses were stuffed up the entire night. Checked out at […] 7AM the next morning which I never do, I typically stay until checkout but not this time. Hotel was ok, very clean but the next time I'll book more carefully. Everything was great, had a beautiful room overlooking the garden and the river, the price was excellent. The only issue was a broken thermostat, which left the room a bit warm, but on checkout the receptionist immediately put in a work order for it to be looked at.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Jazzy and calm hotel in the midst of DC"
Great experience overall. The mood and jazzy atmosphere of the hotel was very pleasant and it is nice to enjoy the history of such a place. However, the room was a bit too small and some facilities within the rooms could be updated.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel, $$$ Parking."
Hotel was nice and nearby a good set of restaurants. What was really surprising was when I realized it's valet parking only and it cost me $41. Unfortunately we arrived late so I had limited choice. Plan ahead.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Venerable Washington Hotel"
This historic hotel is well located, close to public transportation (one block from the first Metro stop past DuPont Circle). The pillows were great but the bed itself was pathetic. I've slept on better beds at holiday inns. The TV needs to be upgraded as well. Awesome, historic hotel but it's time for a major makeover of the rooms.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not my previous experience:"
I recommend against booking this hotel through Expedia because although you get your room cheap, you apparently get a cheap room. I've stayed at the Omni Shoreham before, and it was wonderful. This time I was relegated to their rather run-down outbuilding, where the curtains don't close, the heat is unreliable, and the housekeeping is slipshod.Genuine Expedia guest review
Let me start by saying the hotel is beautiful. I have stayed at the Omni Shoreham before and have good experiences. However, my last visit was not a good experience. They put me in a room that could not be further away from the lobby. I walked down a long hall way, then down another long hall way, then in a elevator that took me down 4 flights, then […] down a long lonely and windowless hall way. I walked so far that I am not even sure I was staying at the Omni and thought that perhaps I had walked to a 2 star motel. Made me think of Get Smart where he walks down long sterile hallways. The room was small and depressing. I dropped my bags off in my room and figured I would go to the bar. So I made the long walk back to the bar area. I sat there and was ignored by the wait staff. I was rather annoyed so I decided to dog sled back to my closet of a room and read -- only to find that Omni charges for wireless. Does any one really still charge for wireless service? Overall not a good experience. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice large rooms!"
Nice historical hotel in a good location with good rates for the area.Genuine Expedia guest review
"4 star hotel that's really a 2 star hotel"
Not a good experience. They gave us an annex room that, from the outside, looked like a cheap roadside motel. On the first night the toilet bowl overflowed and required a plumbing repair. Not all the electric outlets in the room worked, and the in-room coffee brewer did not work properly. The walls are paper thin and you could hear people conversing […] in the adjoining room as if they were in your room. This hotel charges you for w-fi use in your room. and, if you use their business center, the cost is $9.95 for 15 minutes. Outrageous. Also, the hotel is not handicapped accessibly. To exit the hotel you have to climb about 10 steps and there is no ramp adjacent to the stairs.. All in all a most disappointing experience, and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. This hotel was great! I really enjoyed my stay here. It was clean, comfortable. Close enough to all forms of transportation, but far enough from all the congestion. The only drawback is that the room wasn't ready for 1.5 hours and if I book a room, specifying 2 beds, I don't want to be asked over and over how many beds did I request. The young lady […] at the counter was very professional and did apologize profusely. I just wish something would have been offered to make the situation better. One last thing, wireless access should be an accomadation already. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
