"3 blocks from National Zoo"
In addition to being able to walk to Metro and Zoo, we loved the service of the hotel - we arrived at 8:00 p.m. with a 1 year old that had cried for past hour - they send complimentary milk and cookies to the room - very thoughtful!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Mr. Adam"
Convenient to metro, clean, very nice neighborhood with a lot of restaurants. hotel beautiful, staff awesome and very prompt. One minute walking toward enterprise rental car.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice place to stay for a staycation."
The location of the hotel was great; all of the surrounding restaurants were within walking distance from the hotel. The hotel was well lit. The hotel has valet parking and it's worth it, considering you would otherwise waste time driving around and around for a parking spot.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Fancy decor should mean 2-ply toilet paper"
Cleaning of room was adequate, but it looked like they changed sheets, made the bed and walked out. Nothing else was tidy or straightened up in the room. For a hotel with this much history and fancy decor in the lobbie, they should really spring for 2-ply toilet paper in the bathroom.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Mixed Feelings"
For a big city hotel, you could do worse, but service not up to standards of a Ritz. I had problems with booking of room & was told to wait until morning & talk with a manager. The bell hop was more helpful than the front desk in resolving the issues. The room was clean but dated and dark. The bathrooms need remodeling based on the competition in its […] price category. "Shoreham"
Select guest complimentary coffee was too strong, with or without cream. Valet-only parking makes parking almost prohibitively expensive (more than 20% of the cost of my initial stay). Otherwise, this was a good value - very nice hotel at reasonable price (through Expedia).Genuine Expedia guest review

Great re-visit to a lovely hotel. Hotel's age allows for large rooms - hotel itself guarantees that these are clean and well-appointed. Atmosphere allowed all types (tourists, business, family, etc.) to feel comfortable. Superior staff was courteous, friendly, knowledgeable and not officious! Our visit coincided with Hurricane Sandy's East Coast arrival […] - staff went above and beyond to guarantee necessary reservation changes with no additional fees attached. Great location, right across the street from the metro and several restaurants as well as CVS. Rooms are very clean and beds are very comfortable. The concierge is the most courteous and helpful out of any hotel I think I have stayed at and I would DEFINITELY recommend the Omni to anyone looking for a great place to stay while in D.C.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice, but watch the upcharges"
A great hotel. Convenient to the zoo & the Metro. Very nice staff. We got in at a good rate, but was surprised at how all the upcharges added up (internet, room service & parking).Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient location...beautiful open spaces."
Very convenient location on a pleasant and quiet neighborhood...Hotel has large open spaces, nice gardens, something hard to find on DC hotels!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good value in a luxury hotel"
The Omni Shoreham is an excellent hotel, especially at the low Expedia price. It's near the subway stop for the zoo, just one station away from Dupont Circle and a short ride to the main tourist attractions. My room was quite spacious with a king size bed and flat screen TV. Although I checked in at 11 AM, my room was ready There are quite a few good […] restaurants in the neighborhood. The one negative is that free wifi is only available in the lobby and works quite poorly. However, if you sign up for the chain's frequent guest program, you can get free wifi in your room rather than having to pay the $10 charge. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Fantastic First Time Experience"
It was our first time to stay at the Omni. Once the desk clerk, Evan, found out, he assigned us a corner room facing the park. It was fantastic. I also enjoyed being a hotel that was so elegant and rich in history. The staff was totally professional, making you feel very welcome. This feeling came from the doorman, clerk, maid, and even the attendant […] at the fitness center. Even thoutgh the hotel has aged, the upgrades in the rooms and the facility keeps this place highly competive with other hotels. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Dated but very convenient"
The Hotel is dated, but well maintained. Very convenient to the Dupont Circle/Woodely Park area. 3 long blocks to the Metro.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location and value in luxury setting."
Impressed by the hotel decor and service by all the staff. This was a bonus since the hotel was a good value and great location (close to Metro and dining), and we had a room with a view and a window we could open. We'd definitely go back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I loved it. We had a wonderfut time. The accomadations were wonderful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Historic and convenient"
I was happy to see that this historic property has been maintained and upgraded by the Omni brand. Staff was friendly and helpful, and all requests were satisfied. Dine-in room service was tasty and plentiful, and the in-house cafe was a suitable alternative for breakfast. The neighborhood was upscale, and having a metro stop within a block of the hotel […] was wonderful. We also tried several neighborhood restaurants which were all very good. For those who aren't familiar with the Shoreham, it has been the site of presidential inaugural balls since Franklin Roosevelt. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Close to Metro; Nice workout room"
My husband and I stayed here for a week in October 2012. The room was a good size with plenty of closet and drawer space. It was conveniently located to the Metro, which we used to get around everywhere - probably a 3 minute walk to the station. The workout room was the best I've seen in a hotel, with plenty of cardio and weight machines and a sauna […] in the locker rooms. Although it was a little to cool to take advantage of, they have a really nice pool and outdoor area with plenty of tables and chairs and even some hammocks. The bed wasn't terribly comfortable, but not the worst we've slept on. Probably the biggest drawback is that our room faced a major street and so we got a lot of road noise all night long which kept me awake pretty much every night. My husband can sleep through anything, so it wasn't a problem for him. A tip - if you decide to stay here, try to get a room at the back of the hotel overlooking the garden. The room was pretty clean - the windowsills were a little dusty and they definitely didn't vacuum when they came in to clean up. But no real complaints. The restaurant was really expensive, as was the coffee shop downstairs. Fortunately, there was an amazing coffee shop/restaurant right across the street. I would definitely recommend this hotel to single people, couples and probably families since the rooms seemed larger than your typical hotel room. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Love this Hotel"
This hotel was built in the early 1930s and is magnificent. I appreciate the way in which the Omni Corp. has maintained this beautiful piece of American history while adapting it for the 21st century. This was my second visit to the Omni Shoreham and both visits were wonderful. The rooms are much quieter than newer hotels. The staff are welcoming and […] helpful. The grounds are beautiful as well. "Good experience"
An "old hotel" feel, but with all the modern conveniences you expect. Enjoyed the food, both that served at our banquet and that served in the restaurant setting.Genuine Expedia guest review
We spent 7 days at Omni Shorewood. Your hotel is wonderful. The room was one of the nicest ones we have stayed at. All your employees were so helpful and very friendly. We also enjoyed our meals at your wonderful restaurant. Only one thing that really upset us was that the morning we left we found a bill under the door for $272.58 to park our car for […] 7 days. We were not made aware that this was going to happen. $38.94 a day just to park our car is really taking advantage of people. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Beautiful Hotel...needs updating"
The hotel was old school and beautiful. No real amenities for guests, such as coffee in the a.m. Draperies could have used a cleaning and we were in a part of the hotel outside of the main area. Not for anyone with disabilites since it was a long walk with stairs. Staff was pleasant.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Hotel, Great Location"
Great 6 night stay at the Omni, couldn't have been happier, loved our room and loved the location. Metro was a short walk away and various cafes and resturants so close by. Staff was always super nice.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Hotel for price/Location"
Very nice, but older motel. Room was fairly clean. Noisy, but functional AC unit. Bathrooms very small, but functional. Very nice pool and hot tub area. Location very close to Woodley Park metro station and didn't have to take a cab anywhere to see all the regular sites in DC. Good eating nearby. "Great Location"
The hotel staff was wonderful and very friendly. Room/bed very comfortable. Easy access to metro, zoo and conference center. If you are driving ... $33/a night parking fee. Valet parking, however easy access to car whenever needed.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very nice, fairly convenient"
If you don't mind riding the metro, this hotel is a great choice. Very clean and well kept historic hotel, top notch service. The metro stop is only a block or two away. The only drawback I saw was there was a lot of light coming in from the hallway when the room was dark. Other than that, a great property.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Loved this hotel"
This is a beautiful hotel with old world charm. Our room was large and the beds were super comfortable. Service was top notch. It was only a 5 minute walk to the Metro. The food was excellent but a bit pricey. I would definetly stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Beautiful hotel in a great neighborhood"
I had a great experience at the Omni Shoreham. It's a grand old place, with a lobby from the pre-TV days when everyone sat there to see and be seen. They were playing big band music while I was there. I highly recommend joining the loyalty program for the free wi-fi and free coffee delivered to your door every morning. The room decor was a bit old-fashioned, […] and the bathroom was small with no counter space, but that is to be expected in an older hotel, they really can't enlarge them without gutting the whole place. The desk had two outlets on it, plus an outlet on the desk lamp so I could easily recharge everything without moving the furniture and unplugging lamps, etc. Woodley Park is a lively area with lots of restaurants. Don't miss the Gin Joint, with over fifty gins and home-made tonic! The hotel is one block from the Metro, it's a quick trip to everywhere. And the Circulator bus stops right in front. There was a noisy party on my floor, spillover from a wedding, and the staff came immediately when someone down the hall complained at midnight. Whoever talked to them was very effective, the party shut down right away. My only complaint is that there was no light in the closet. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Single Person Stay"
Since I was a single guest the room had an double sized bed with an excellent mattress, but with an odd shape. The room was small because it was divided to make two rooms. The entry provided the bathroom on the right. You would pass the closet that was angled before you would get to the bed. I was glad I had brought a night light. The room was cleaned […] each day, but I was surprised the used washcloth and Rowell were left to use again. That makes perfect environmental sense. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Grand Hotel in the Old World Washington tradition"
I believe one must understand old world traditions interpreted in American culture in order to appreciate the Omni Shoreham. Another example would be the Copley in Boston, and there are several in New York. The style of accommodation is my preference. Housekeeping is always polite and bows so that you know they intend to extend to you the most convenient […] service, and they know they are capable of meeting world class standards with excellence and pleasure. If I were to live in Washington I would wish to live the Shoreham. The quality of the building construction is from an era when American quality was of a solid format, the gold standard. The whole idea was that style meant quality and quality itself meant style. The style today of the Omni Shoreham, its location, staff, and their quality of service reflects American style at its zenith, and thank God, you just can beat it! It is a beacon of inspiration to all:). Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
