"I sure don't see how this hotel got 4 diamonds!"
My room was not made up every day-the maids kept telling me that we were not on the list for staying in the room. However, you sure did have me in your computer at the front desk! The bathroom was not clean with dirt on the floor, mold on the mini blind window, and soap scum in the tub. Carpet was very dirty, dust on furniture, and musty old smell. […] I was on a convention and everything was sold out near by so I had little choice. The bed was not comfortable with scoops in the mattresses instead of being smooth and firm. Our key stopped working several times. It took over half an hour to get security to the room, and it made me late to give a presentation at the meeting because I absolutely had to change to business attire. There was a wedding that had loud music and kept us from getting to sleep. The front desk clerk was snotty when I kept bringing my keys back when they did not work. I didn't appreciate the snotty attitude when the security man said that the keys don't work a lot of times. Hot tub was not hot at all-I had warmer water in the room's bath tub. This experience will not be repeated, and I cannot recommend the hotel to friends/family/colleagues. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Dated Hotel, needs to be refurbished. For $500 per night, which is ridiculous, I would have expected a spotless room with decent air conditioning and less noisy. Definitely NOT worth the value...much less $500Genuine Expedia guest review
Perfect. . No complaints. Staff friendly and room was clean. . What more do you need,Genuine Expedia guest review
Hotel personnel very professional and extremely helpful. We were able to catch the Big Bus Tour bus across street every morning and this together with the great hotel service made for a fantastic vacation. Will definitely stay again!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Super nice hotel and convenient for tourists"
I took a stay-cation here recently for a friends wedding in town. While my room was slightly smaller than I had been let on it would be, the assistance from the concierge was impeccable beyond imagine. Beautiful hotel and lovely stay. Would recommend it to anyone coming to town!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Just in the Nick of Time!"
I was attending an "in-town" conference and the going back and forth from the conference from home was literally tiring. My manager approved a stay at the hotel for the conference and the Omni was it! I did "same day" booking and the service was great! From the buffet breakfast to the valet, I had courteous and professional service. One drawback was […] that I was booked in the Parkview part of the Omni and it was too far away from the lobby. I would have preferred to be closer because I had to go in and out of the hotel daily because it was a business trip. Otherwise, it was a wonderful experience. I particularly enjoyed the restuarant staff at Robert's and the staff that handled room service. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

The bathroom tub had black mold between the tiles....Other than that, the hotel was beautiful and the room was comfortable. This is a disconcerting find.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not the best and not the worst"
I am a fan of the Omni chain, but this particular property was just okay for my tastes. NOTHING AWFUL to report, but it was kind of old-looking and the smell was kind of attic-y. Oh, shower was small. If you're into vintage and classic, you'll love it. It reminded me of the Titanic for some strange reason. I'm more of a modern kinda girl. :) No real […] complaints, though. Beautiful lobby. The room looks nice but was a little musty. The bathroom door was broken and the tub took 10-15 minutes to drain after a shower. The staff was kind but I called and asked for toothpaste and the operator said someone was bringing it up, but after a half hour no one showed.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel should do to highlight the history and location of the hotel! They should also consider a revitalization of the glory days to once again "be the place to be"!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The accomadations were nice. The staff was accomadating and courteous.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I liked it better than the other hotel across the street. I liked the older decor. Definitely gave it more character. Pool and grounds are beautiful. Would stay againGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I thought it was great. My only displeasure was that our room was situated in the other building and a big walk to the front of the hotel. Everything else was wonderful!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
NIce older hotel. Sofa bed uncomfortable. Area nice but not close to downtown.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great value for a comfortable hotel"

"Really Nice Hotel"
This is a very nice hotel with an interesting history and some great amenities. The outdoor pool is really nice. The staff are friendly and the rooms are comfortable and clean. This is the hotel where Pres. Clinton played the Sax at the Inaugural Ball and where Pres. Truman used to sneak off to play cards with some Senators who lived there. Near the […] zoo, there are a few decent restaurants in the immediate area but it is a $15 cab ride or a Metro ride to get to the monuments. "Visiting Washington DC for the First time"
Very pleasant hotel stay. The Woodley Park area is nice. The only thing I did not like was the daily parking fees. It would be nice to get a discount since I was bringing my daughter to college out there. Obviously, this area is very expensive, but one restaurant in the area was very good and I frequented it during my stay.Genuine Expedia guest review
Hotel was very nice as well as the staff. The pool is extremely nice; my kids loved it. The only problem is that they only offer valet parking which is $41.30 per night. Other than that I would definitely go back to this hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Close to all but quiet neighborhood"
Have been to Dc many times but our first at the Omni Shoreham. We were dropping our daughter off at American University & the location was great. 1 bloc from red line/Zoo Adams Morgan stop which was 5 min to AU and less than to Dupont Circle the other way. Rooms are large and clean. Hotel reminded us of a resort with a large outdoor pool area. Staff […] was friendly & the surrounding neighborhood was quiet but close to great food and Adams Morgan locale an easy walk. Only negative was elevators were crowded & slow but we walked to 3rd fl most of the time. We'll be back. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

I loved staying here. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. It is also close to the train which was perfect! I would definitely stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice hotel, full of history. Disappointed that I had requested NOT to be near an elevator and we were the first room next to the elevator. Mentioned that it was our 28th Anniversary, but nothing special, no recognition by hotel. No sign to put on door requesting housekeeping. A bit of a disconnect in getting serviced. Best service was the car valet […] and the porter who took our bags to room. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Terrific Experience Overall"
Not knowing what to expect, I was pleasantly surprised by every aspect of the Omni Shoreham Hotel. From the pleasant staff to all of the accommodations. Swimming pool, Hot tub, gym and amazing lobby. It is also a hotel rich in history, with many celebrities celebrating career making events within their doors. I would have no problem giving it a five […] star rating. At ease wise you are a short metro ride away from all of the main attractions. The surrounding area has several restaurants and you are within walking distance to the Zoo. "Different treatment with kids"
I love, love, love the Omni Shoreham. I have stayed there three different times, and the first two times we had a fantastic room with a great view. Of course we did not have kids. This last time (last week), we go to our room, which was perfect for five of us, but we had a horrible view of the hotel's HVAC unit. At different times of the day, we'd hear […] loud noises from outside, especially at night. We called down to the front desk about a room change, and they did not have anything available. Also, we did not get certain amenities from the hotel because we booked through hotels.com rather than through their own website. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"A weekend staycation getaway"
I surprised my boyfriend with a weekend at the luxurious Omni Shorham Hotel overlooking Rock Creek Park. The hotel is convenient to neighborhood restaurants, the National Zoo, and anywhere else in DC as there is a metro station right across the street. We didn't eat at the hotel and chose to explore options in the neighborhood. Drinks at the bar were […] pricy but well made. This is a historic hotel in DC; keep this in mind if you are looking forelegant surroundings, lush gardens, and a pleasant patio to sit and enjoy the afternoon. Elevators are slow and small, but that is part ofthe experience of a 1930s hotel. Rooms were well appointed and spotless with a wide range of TV channels (including local) and films. Beware of parking at the hotel; it costs $40 a night with in and out service 24 hours a day with no additional charge. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Wonderful Location and Resort"
I was a little nervous about the location when I booked this hotel but I could not have been happier with our stay. We were 1-3 stops on the metro line to all the downtown locations. It was just far enough outside of downtown to give you a little break from the busy downtown districts. The hotel staff was extremely helpful in booking a tour to Mt. Vernon/Arlington […] and the tour bus picked us up from the hotel. When we return to DC we will stay here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Not bad at all for the price."
I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. It wasn't the greatest hotel ever but for the price and the location, you can't complain. The room was clean, I didn't see any roaches or anything. Bed was made and had clean sheets. My view wasn't horrible and it was very quiet. My only gripe was that there wasn't an iron in every room (I had to call downstairs, […] and they told me to come and get it). Other than that, it was cool. The showers are shared but if you catch the showers early in the morning before everybody else gets in and its just been cleaned, you're fine. I saw the cleaning folks almost every time I walked out of my room. They keep the place clean 24/7. It's an old building so there are the usual cracked paint windows and older doors, but it adds style to the place. I'd stay there again, I actually plan to when I come back to San Diego next month. Check it out! Enjoy! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great hotel in a great area."
Stayed here for the second time with my wife a son. Great restaurants in walking distance. Metro stop is super convenient. We walked to the zoo from the hotel. The staff is very helpful. We will stay here again on our next visit to DC.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This is a very nice, old Hollywood glamour style hotel. Very convenient to the metro and zoo and it's located in seemingly a great part of town! We had a regular king room which was comfortable enough although the bathroom was small and the room door had too large of a crack at the bottom...we could see about 1.5" into the hallway/the hallway light/folks […] walking by. We had a reservation for one night but once there we decided to stay for two. There was a small porch off our room--I wouldn't really call it a balcony persay but it was nice to be able to go outside for fresh air occasionally. The worst part about this place is definitely the fact that yes, the parking is free, but it's street parking! Duh it's free (and probably a mile up the road). Otherwise you pay $41 a DAY for valet. "Nice Hotel, close to red-line subway."
The hotel was ok for what we needed it. The elevator servicing the rooms in the west-wing were either so crowded and overloaded, or the wait time for one to catch exceeded sometimes 10 minutes. A bit annoying! The rooms itself are spacious and clean, but could need some serious updating. Overall, it was ok. "85 year old hotel, nicely kept"
We were there for 2 nights. The hotel is huge, providing space for large events. We had a rather mixed experience with the quality of their services: excellent at the reception and with cleaning staff, poor otherwise, especially regarding the bell captain. Very thin walls, we unwillingly followed each and every conversation in the next room, and not […] only that. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Excellent Service, Very Friendly Staff"
Our room was enormous, very comfortable, and very convenient for two elderly people. The roll-in shower was especially nice. However, the laundry service was quite costly and there was no coin-operated laundry for the patrons to use. The restaurant was also high in price, but the meals were absolutely delicious every time, with elegant presentation […] and more-than-ample portions. I downgraded the convenience and neighborhood because it is quite far from downtown and all the attractions, creating a hefty taxi charge or long subway trip each day. "Short DC Stay"
We arriived on a Wednesday and left that Saturday. The best part about the hotel was the location. It is a short two block walk to the Metro. I felt that for the price the room was very dated. There are illustrations in front touting the famous people that have stayed there over the last seventy five years. From the multiple layers of paint to the pealing […] walpaper in the bathroom I felt that they could have proclaimed that "Washington slept here" and have been accurate.
