Yes, it's a hostel and not a hotel. Usually 4 to a room. Clean. Center of Oslo. Easy to get to everything: public transportation, restaurants, tourist sites, etc. Receptionist even made me a breakfast to go since I had to leave early to catch a train.

Everyone was friendly and helpful to us. We were a little surprised at the cost of the shuttle bus to and from the hotel and airport, but, of course, that is out of your control. Your breakfast was very nice, plentiful with lots of choices. All in all, it was a good value, and with Norwegian prices so high, it was affordable. Takk.

Overall the hotel was a pleasant surprise compared to the relatively cheap price for Oslo. The hotel is located at the outskirts of the city (ring 3) near a hospital. The center is easily accessible by a tram that stops 5m from the hotel entrance (the ride is about 20 min). The young man at the front desk was very welcoming and helpful with all our needs. Both the room size and the breakfast were much better than what we got at the Gardermoen Airport Hotel, that costed 50% more.

Really great place with a good price. It is a little difficult to find. The bus/tram station in Heimdals gata located around the corner from the apartments. Look for a small red and white sign on the side of a building. To get to the apartments, you go through a walkway. The apartments are located on the otherside (riverside NOT streetside). Very modern, comfortable, and nice. Our dishwasher door did not open but that was a minor detail. We would certainly stay here again.

Great hotel in a beautiful setting. My room was small but beautiful. Gym is also small but clean, modern and functional - as long as there are not more than 2 people in it! This is the second time I stay and it is definitely my hotel of choice in Oslo.

We contacted them about the overly soft mattress and the wobbly desk chair both of which made my aching back hurt even more. They did nothing in response. The chambermaid was overly zealous in moving our possessions around. For such a supposedly "elegant" hotel, the buffet was average at best.: limited selection, no herbal teas, etc.

I can't be laudatory enough about the Continental Hotel. The service, location, and size of the rooms were outstanding. Then we went to breakfast and were blown away by the fantastic smorgasbord. Again not only was the service outstanding, but the quality and array of food was out-of-this-world and delicious!

The reception area was nice and welcoming, the actual room felt dated, bathroom good size but needed attention as mildew between the tiles. Breakfast good The main problem we had was with loud music until about 3 am, we think from a nearby bar. It was loud enough to recognise the song playing so take ear plugs!! Hotel is in a great location and its a decent hotel . However = its NOT a 5 star by a long long way . The rooms are quite tired , the Bar closed at 9.30 on Sunday and the ground floor is pretty small . Its a hotel full of cruise stop over people . NOT child friendly either - nothing at all for them .

Overall the experience was very good. The breakfast buffet was outstanding, there is something for everyone. If I have to give some minor critique, it was the old style of the room we lived in (cahndeleir, old style furniture etc.). Would be more suited for elderly people, not a couple in their mid twenties.

This hotel feels outdated and a little forgotten. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, but i would not stay again as I prefer a more dynamic and contemporary style Hotel. It may be good for much older people.

The hotel exceeded my expectations. The staff were most helpful and very friendly.The hotel is very centrally located (close to the Royal Palace, City Hall, Opera house and any number of good museums). If you are going to museums and that sort of thing I recommend the "Oslo Pass" very highly!

The hotel was excellent but If you have a choice between Oslo and somewhere else go else where. It is beautiful city but outrageously expensive!

A lovely Norwegian hotel, with beautiful decor and an oldy-worldy feel. All the staff were lovely. The breakfast was excellent with lots of choice and plenty to fill-up with to keep you going for the day! The hotel was quiet - I wasn't aware of any noisy guests. Our flights to and from Oslo both ahead of schedule.The airport express(Flytog) took less than 25 minutes to centre of Oslo alighting at the National threater station some 5 minutes from the Continental hotel. The hotel is of the classic style.The service was excelent,friendly but not intrusive.The decor throughout was to a very high standard,every […] where clean, tidy and wel caredfor.Our room was of the same high standard. The buffet breakfast hot and cold was the best I have had in Norway. Rent rom, svært hyggelig betjening og god service. Alt det man foventer av et hotell i denne klassen. Beliggenhet er midt i smørøyet. Trikk, t-bane og buss rett utenfor. Litt støy fra buss og trikk, men oppleves ikke som noe problem. Vi skal tilbake!

Nå fikk jeg rommet med en god rabatt gjennom Hotels.com. Hadde ikke ville betalt full pris. Det var et fint og classy hotel med flinke og hyggelige ansatte. Koselig bar der man kan drikke alt fra champagne til kaffe. Men ganske bråkete på natta. Både fra barer, fulle mennesker og måker.

Bodde i juniorsuite i 8. Etg. Suveren beliggenhet og flott utsikt til Slottet. Hotellet fremstår som mer slitt enn ærverdig, og har nok behov for en del oppussing. Frokosten var litt skuffende, og ble ryddet bort på slaget 10 selv om noen gjester akkurat hadde kommet.

Servicen på Continental er sannsynligvis den beste du får i Norge. Svært hyggelig og behjelpelig betjening og et stort utvalg av restauranter og mat på hotellet. Frokosten var bra, men ikke noe mer enn du får på hotell som koster halvparten. Interiøret er også veldig fint, men deler av rommene begynner å se noe utdaterte ut. For eksempel så dusjen og […] badet på rommet mitt generelt ganske slitt ut, og termostaten hadde en innstilling: "varmt" eller "kaldt" - og dessverre virket ikke "varmt"-innstillingen. Dette er ikke bra nok for et hotell med en såpass høy pris. I tillegg - hvis du er såpass uheldig å få et rom mot Saga Kino-siden så kan du vente deg dunking og bråk til 2-3-tiden, selv på hverdager. Alt fungerte som forventet, men frokost-bufféen var som på et ungdoms-herberg: særdeles enkel med lite og kjedelig utvalg, av tvilsom kvalitet med gammelt pålegg og veldig bråkete da betjeningen med enorm energi og innlevelse begynte å rydde vekk presis på slaget, så her vil jeg heller anbefale McDonalds […] eller Burger King som ligger i nabolaget.
