"Liked the Hotel."Reviewed by Mack of "Ajax, Ontario" on Jan 29, 2012
No complaints about the Hotel or Staff. There is a nice 24 hr Deli across the road. Room was about what I expected for the price. The imediate neighborhood was a bit dirty but I felt safe enough. I wouldn't recomend it for families with young kids. I would stay there again. It's a bit old school but that was kid of cool too. I do Love NY.
"Hotel Mela"Reviewed by Fenton of "Toronto, Canada" on Jan 29, 2012
It is well situated for one to get around New York.A short walk or cab ride, to most places that you would want to see in the City. For the "urbanite" the subway is about a block away. Only 6 stops from SoHo. To really enjoy this Hotel get the Bigger rooms/Business suites on the higher floors. Some of the views aren't great but the layout is worth the few extra dollars. F.G. "Pleasant Stay"Reviewed by Augustus of "Sint Maarten" on Jan 29, 2012
The Hotel was not the best I have stayed at but it was quite I will say the Staff made the stay an enjoyable one. I will return for sure and will recommend others.

Let the West Coast have Hollywood; Broadway’s lights are just as bright, and many screen actors come to the Great White Way to gain acting credibility. Area attractions include Carnegie Hall, Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall, and the Museum of Modern Art. Resplendent St. Patrick’s Cathedral takes up a block at Fifth and 50th. "Great Location"
The Park Central New York Hotel have a great location with great service to go along with it!!!
"Park Central New York Hotel"
Huge and very busy hotel...they told us they were at 97% capacity ever since they drastically lowered their price!!! The location is fantastic to say the least. The room was quite ordinary but clean but who spends that much time in a room in NYC! So bottom line, the main reason anyone would want to stay there is the prime location for a bargain pri […] ce. "Comfortable and Convenient"
Comfortable stay. We arrived early and were completely exhausted so we asked for an early check-in. The hotel made a plan and allowed us to check in early which we were very grateful for (although we didn't get the room we had originally asked for - we were willing to forfeit that!). The porters were very helpful and willing to assist with queries. […] The front desk service was not great. The room was comfortable, with clean linen, comfortable double beds, great hanging and drawer space for clothes. Clean and tidy bathroom. I did however find stale popcorn in the drawer which was a little disappointing. Both days we were in the room we had two room service staff members having loud personal-conversations right outside our room door whilst supposedly cleaning other rooms. During these conversations they swore and spoke inappropriately. This was very unprofessional. The hotel was very centrally situated to the subway, central park, 5th ave, Columbus Circle, restaurants and grocery stores. For the special rate we received I would recommend this hotel - not for service but for comfort and locality. Read more
"Best place to stay"
Fabulous location, walk to MOMA, Central Park, Carnegie, Times Square. Top-rate restaurant at reasonable cost. It's my first choice.
"Park Central"
My husband and I found the Park Central a perfect hotel for our first vacation to New York. Employees were friendly and helpful, location is perfect and rooms are a very good size for New York, meaning that you can walk around the bed on both sides. We fortunately had a corner room, which was fabulous. I will recommend this hotel to all of our Canadian […] friends when they plan a visit. Read more

"Ideal Location"
Smooth check in and out. Room was very quiet, clean and spacious. Slept great on the very comfortable bed. Staff was helpful in providing maps and answering any questions, also recomending places to eat nearby! Nothing outstanding here but a nice place to stay that's walking distance to many NYC sites. Or there where always taxi's waiting outside to […] get you anywhere you like. I would recomend this hotel and return for a second stay. Read more
"Park Central Hotel"
The 1st room we checked into was dirty-dust all over the tops of the curtain, no soapdish, handle on bathroom tap was broken, gum stuck in the waste basket. After talking to housekeeping & leaving a $5 tip upfront, it was cleaned properly. Two nights later, we were awakened at 2am by water heavily dripping from above the bathtub from the room above […] us. The front desk offered us a room on a lower floor; we refused & held out for a room on the 17th floor which was definitely more "high end". It was clean & more spacious. We also received a Free breakfast. We were much happier on 17--even the elevators were nicer! Lower floors=low end, obviously. Upon checking out, there was a bill for $83 for our "Free" breakfast which we refused to pay. The location was fabulous & once we got the "good" room, all was great. Beautiful sheets & nice duvets. Shuttle to Newark airport was only $20 & came in very handy when we left. I would stay here again. Read more
"The Park Central."
I was there to attend a concert at the nearby Roseland, unfortunately I spent very little time in the hotel itself but when I did I was pleased with the staff as well as my room. No big complaints really. Perhaps the only one would be to put in some sort of rubber mat in the bathtub because when soap is running through it gets extremely slippery. I'm […] aware that those rubber mat could be costly because repeated use wouldn't exactly work but something to prevent any serious accidents. Other than that, everything else was great. I'd both return and recommend it. Read more
"tons of wait for a elevator, great location"
It was in a great location but to take the elevator was impossible the wait was unreal. Walking the stairs with your bags was not fun. It was clean but very old and very small rooms. Staff was very nice.
"Park Central NY- good location, poor service"
The location is superb. It's within walking distance of Times Square, downtown, 30 Rock, Central Park and is seconds away from the subway. Unfortunately the service at the front desk and from room service is some of the worst I've ever experienced. Things were stolen from my room and I was "accidentally" checked out early. I was also charged for things […] that i did not buy but nobody at the front desk seemed to care or help me. I know I wasn't the only one experiencing this during my stay either. The water flow in the shower is horrible also. There is no wifi in the lobby and you have to pay quite a bit for internet. Shocking that this still happens in any hotel in NY. I get free internet all over the world. Read more

Old Hotel yet still Expensive!!!, not worth-ed for the money!!. I got broken fan & light on the room, they did not fixed it when I complaint!!
"park central in NYC"
I got stuck in NYC during the hurricane, and needed an extra nite, which was not available where I was staying. Logged onto Hotels.com, and chose this for the one extra nite, because location was great, and price was great. I would stay here again anytime, Rooms were lovely and the staff was outstanding.
"Park Central New York Hotel"
Our overall experience was good. The only negative impact was the protestor outside the hotel claiming there were bed bugs. Trying to explain this to my 10 year old daughter was unpleasant and made us uneasy.
"Park Central NY"
The location of the hotel is excellent. Close to everything. The room was clean and comfortable. Very disappointed that everything was extra - breakfast, WiFi, paper, parking, etc. We wanted to have the hotel keep our car for a half hour longer in order for us to attend an event and then pick up the car. They wanted to charge a whole day storage fee […] for this. We did not find the staff at the check in/out desk to be overly friendly (in fact somewhat miserable). All other people in hotel and out and about in NY were very personable. Read more
"Park Central - Good Location, Poor Quality"
The Good: - Close to Central Park - Within walking distance of Times Square The Bad: - The bathroom was small and dingy - The bathroom had very poor water pressure - The bathroom had some of the lowest grade amenities I have ever seen - There were no face or hand towels - There is ALWAYS a line-up at the front desk - The staff are not friendly or courteous - […] I never saw a doorman The hotel's only saving grace is that it is in New York and therefore there is so much to do that you spend very little time in your room. "Pretty good"
Location really can't be beat. In the heart of midtown close to everything and right across the street from a subway stop. Lobby was trendy and modern but when you get to the rooms, it's clear they haven't been renovated for a while. Relatively clean but we had a dirty towel and grout in shower tiles could really use a good scrub. One thing that was […] annoying -- we had a do not disturb sign on the door and housekeeping just walked in to see if we needed service. Luckily I was just working on the computer but I think Do Not Disturb signs should be honoured. Read more

"bed bugs"
Great location but poor service. We asked for a fridge and after 2 hours we got the first one, but it didn't work so we called for another one and got it only the next morning after three more calls. We also learned from flyers being distributed at the entrance of the hotel, that prior guests complained about bed bugs and seeing the cleanliness of the […] hotel I don't have any trouble believing them!!! "Excellent hotel in heart of Manhattan"
Conveniently close to all downtown attractions (Time Square 10 min walk, Central Park 5 min walk) and subway stations out front (20 min to Ground zero and to the Ferry to the Statue of Liberty for a low fare) and also very quiet, clean and comfortable rooms. I have no hesitation recommending this hotel. Beds were really comfortable, and no outside noise […] in the rooms - we were on the inside. Read more
"Good location"
We stayed in New York for 3 days in July. Hotel had a great location only minutes away from Central Park, Times Square and shopping. Two complaints I would share with readers: 1. Bathroom was quite dingy and the grout was black. Needed a good cleaning. 2. Parking...first let me say I have no problem paying for parking. Totally expected and understood. […] I followed their instructed process to call 1 hour ahead of time to get my car. However, I waited a full 2 hours to get my vehicle!! So that makes it 3 hours to get my car that was only parked around the corner. Unbelievable. Read more
"Excellent stay!"
The Hotel is perfectly manged and placed. We had a wonderfull trip, near the 2 main attractions tourists wants to see in NY, Times Square and Central Park. Very satisfied with the hotel and the quality of the room. Very big room, nice TV, comfortable bed, everything was very good!! Would go back anytime!
"Not very pleased"
The front desk staff is not very courteous. Hall ways as well as the room had a strange smell. Room was very small, and the bath room was tiny and not very clean. The soap and the shampoo provided were of the cheapest quality I have seen. We bought our own from a local store. The maid never cleaned the room properly. Some days there were no face towels […] the other days no floor mate. Some days the maid never brought the coffe, we had to phone the front desk. I do not want to continue, we do not think that we will go back to this hotel. The only thing good about about this hotel is that it close the central park and a number of restaurants, otherwise forget it. Read more
"Horrible"
I cannot believe Hotels.com has rated this hotel at 4 stars. It is big box, completely impersonal, with amonst the worst guest service I have ever experienced. The staff behind the desk were unfriendly and slow. My room had a horrible musty smell to it, which I presumed was smoke; however, when I called downstairs, the front desk they would have to […] get housekeeping to "check" it first. I took more than an hour for them to come up, they agreed the room smelled extremely musty, opened the window and gave it a deodorizing spray. I can accept the shower was the size of a broom closet, but it was covered in mildew and you did not feel a whole lot cleaner getting out of it. I do not consider myself a high maintenance traveler, I travel to NY a lot, and this is probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I do not recommend it to anyone. I will also not use Hotels.com again. Read more

"Location! Location! Location"
I would recommend this hotel for the location. Just walking distance from most of the sightseeing places in Manhattan. Its a no frills hotel and ideal for anyone who is looking for a clean place to crash after a long day of walking. For the price it demands, I would have at least expected tea/coffee in the room. That's not too much to ask, is it?
"park central"
contrary to most reviews, I found this to be a clean and well located hotel. everytime I required assistance, it was attended to and afterwards, they called up to assure my needs were met. excellent front desk service.
"Park Central Hotel in New York"
This hotel is in a great location - about a block or two from Times Square, close to subways and Central Park. Its a great place to have as your home base while spending the day looking at sites. If you have a car, their parking rates are a little steep. Overall, I was impressed with the cost of the hotel, the location of the hotel and the overall value. […] I'd stay here again. Read more
"Bedbugs"
I had a wonderful stay at the Park central hotel, until after check out when I was leaving seeing a huge air balloon creature portraying a bedbug, with a sign on it saying this hotel had a problem with them. When I checked into the hotel that was not there so the rest of the day I was consistently checking my belongings, making sure I didn't carry them […] away with me. It was very uncomfortable and annoying to keep wondering if I brought bedbugs from a hotel into my home. So it is difficult to rate the hotel because my last image of the hotel is that balloon creature! Read more
"Not a high service hotel!!!"
The rooms at this hotel are adequate .... walls are rather bare. Rooms are dark. Walls have experienced some water damage or such. It was very difficult to get the front desk when calling from the room. When you did, they were curt and didn't follow through. We received permission for a late check out, and when I returned to the room 15 minutes prior […] to the check out time, the key had been disabled because the message had not gone past the abrupt operator. I requested the car to be brought around (we had used the valet service) and thus had to stand in the check out line in the lobby to have my tag validated. The line was at least 10 people deep, with both check in and check out. I received some preferential treatment after standing for 20 - 25 minutes with still 4 people in front of me, and after complaining to a hotel staff member. BUT THEN, I waited one hour and 10 minutes for my car to come around the corner. The operator had not called for it when I called from my room, the staff that stamped my ticket upon check out 30 minutes later didn't call for the car, and it took the door man 3 calls to finally get my car. I was furious!!!! I would go a long ways to avoid this hotel in the future. Read more

We were very pleased with the Park Central Hotel, it has an excellent location and is a very well kept hotel The valet parking worked well for us and having Starbucks downstairs was also an advantage, the staff were very nice and helpful, we would definitely stay here again
"Bed bug on pillow made us change room & floor"
I would not stay at this hotel again! The first nite we found a bed bug on the pillow. We had to re pack our things so we were transferred to another room at midnite. We arrived early for check-in, so left our stuff with the concierge and we were charged $3.75 per item? We had 10 items , so we paid $37.50 for our things to be kept for 5 hours !

"Park Central New York"
Excellent location to midtown. short blocks to Central Park, 5th Ave, Met, Fricke, Columbus Circle, Times Square. Highly recommend this hotel. We were first timers to NYC and very pleased with location for activities we had planned. Bonus - windows opened to let in fresh air! Short, inexpensive taxi ride to just about everything.
"Park Central close to all attractions"
I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights with a friend. It was our first time to NYC and we were interested in seeing all the major sights. This hotel provided great access to do that. The concierge was extremely helpful. Subway stop was located just across the street and many good cafes to eat at for breakfast. The only complaint would be the rooms had […] very thin walls and you could hear alarms going off in nearby rooms in the morning. Other than that it was great and I'd go there again. Read more
"Great location...close to Central Park & Subway"
The hotel was located in a great place because it was less than 5 min. away from Central Park, and the Subway was located right outside the hotel, which took us right downtown. "PARK CENTRAL"
I LOVED THIS HOTEL FOR THE LOCATION, CLOSED TO THE PARK AND COLUMBUS CIRCLE. NOT TO MENTION RIGHT BY THE NRW,ABC,123 TRAINS, VERY CONVENIENT. THE ROOMS WERE VERY SPACIOUS AND CLEAN. WE STAYED IN A TWO BED ROOM SO I THINK THIS HELPED.

"THE PARK CENTRAL HOTEL IN NEW YORK"
THE HOTEL IS LOCATED IN A PERFECT LOCATION. CLOSE TO MOST ATTRACTIONS. THE ROOM WOULD HAVE BEEN GREAT FOR 2 PEOPLE, BUT WHEN THEY CHARGE EXTRA FOR A THRID ADULT YOU WOULD THINK THEY WOULD AT LEAST GIVE YOU A ROOM WITH A LITTLE MORE SPACE. IT WAS THE WORST DAY TO BE IN NEW YORK, DUE TO THE HORRIBLE SNOW STORM, BUT THE STAFF WAS VERY NICE AND HANDLED […] THE STRESSED CUSTOMERS IN A VERY PROFESSIONAL WAY. Read more
"Park Central NY Hotel - very good"
We had a nice time, breakfast buffet was great. Dining room still undergoing renovation, but staff were very helpful and courteous. And, it's a great location on 7th btwn Times Square and Central Park.
"Not bad for Manhattan"
The room was spacious and clean. The bed needs an upgrade (I did feel the springs) and when I ordered a pizza from outside the hotel they made me come down and get it more out of spite than anything else. For the price I paid for a hotel between Times Square and Central Park it was a great value. It's a 3.5 star hotel that is located great. I've stayed […] there before and likely will again. Read more

I checked in quiet late to the hotel and I did not get the room that I had booked. I had booked a King room and I received 2 double beds. "Park Central - Handy Location"
Overall a decent hotel for New York. Rooms were larger than expected. We faced an inside courtyard which made our room extremely quiet as we didn't get any street noise. The view wasn't exciting but the ability to sleep peacefully made it worthwhile. We did not eat at the hotel at all so can't comment on the food. Our only negative comments would be […] the hotel elevators going down to the main floor took an inordinate amount of time to get to the floor we were staying on. I also thought the hallway carpets were a bit tatty and in need of replacement. Otherwise I would recommend the hotel. We'd stay there again. Read more
