Hotel ( lobby mainly) has been upgraded since last visit. Much brighter. Room was very quiet ( 9th flr) pleasant surprise.So convemient to subway...to city and bouroughs. Hello, I recently stayed here with my partner and 6 1/2 month old infant. The hotel was extremely clean and the service was accommodating as well as fast. We got there a little earlier than checkin and decided to stop off our bags and head out to roam the area. There are many restaurants near (we settled for chipotle lunch and Thai dinner). They provided […] a pack & play for our baby to sleep in, which we added out own sheet and blanket to, just for safety. The wifi worked well on our Mac, however it did not work on our game system. They tried to help us but everything they did did not work to set up wifi on the x box. That was the least of our worries though. Hotel was in great location, front desk, valet, concierge all very friendly and helpful. Cafe downstairs had great mix of snacks, sandwhiches, pastries, expreso...very good and convenient. The lady and I stayed here one night and found their service and friendliness to be the best on three week two-way trip from TX to Cape Cod, MA, and then back down to TX. The convenience was beyond compare. The Valet service is a must, but was hassle free! "Charged "hotel fee" for no reason"
Overall, it's a decent hotel, except the view form our window which consisted of the wall of the building across and a little piece of the sky to recognize whether it's rain or shine. However, we were charged $20 hotel fee for the service we didn't request. Next morning I inquired the receptionist about this charge. The answer was "all hotel guests […] get charged". "Very poorly managed"
The reason I booked the hotel is due to they have room for three person. But at check in they told us only king bed no room for rollaway bed. Receptionist was very mean not helpful at all. "BEWARE of Hidden Charges!!! Horrible hotel!!"
For starters, the service is horrible. It's attitude from the moment you walk in. You pay thousands of dollars to a hotel who acts like they're doing you a favor to have you there... The entire front desk staff and management needs to be fired and re-trained. Then there is the matter of their newly established "resort fee" which is basically a hidden […] fee of an additional $20 per a night that they stick you with at the end. They are the ONLY hotel in the city who does this. No shame. This is in order to help cover their costs of renovations, however, they've already raised their nightly rates so to be honest, its just greed. Finally, our booking was for a king size bed, however instead they gave us two queen beds, which they claim was an upgrade, but who needs the second bed? Me and my girlfriend would have been much more comfortable in a large king... The next day when we asked to be changed back to a king room, they told us we need to check out, leave our luggage upfront, wait four hours on the streets before the next room would be available.... Which is RIDICULOUS! They could have easily finished cleaning the King room, had us switch, then went off to clean the Queen room... Why put your paying customers on the streets? Why the attitude too? Horrible experience... Bottom line: There are MUCH MUCH better hotels in the city, with better attitude towards the customer, with must better rates, larger rooms and more convenient locations. With the exception of lower Manhattan, World Trade etc., really don't have to worry about cabs or subways. Broadway, Times Square, Central Park, I could go on and on are all close by. We enjoyed our brief stay. It was so close to Central park I was able to run to it in the morning. It was in walking distance to many of the places we wanted to see in the short time we were there.
