Rooms are quite outdated. Bed was comfortable desk was awful. Service pitiful. Painfully slow at front desk. Hotel bar was closed for private function not that there's nothing else around but I needed it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great couple get away"
My husband and I stayed here for one night and it was a great experience. The hotel is very nice, our room was clean and the location is great, close to Central Park and Times Square. We would definitely stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"PARK CENTRAL - THE BEST"
Our time at Park Central, from the moment we arrived until 5 days later was above and beyond a 5 star rating. It started with doorman, continued to hotel receptionist, house cleaning as well as ALL the hotel staff we had contact with. This is certainly a hotel I would recommend to anyone.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Location,location,location ... great, great ,great"
Long weekend of R and R... Had a great time. Hotel location was excellent! Everything was recently remodeled...all looked fresh and new. Room was tight because of 2 queens...we had requested a King but for some unclear reason they moved us into a double queen.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great location. Room was small and hot but very clean. Was told to open the window that didn't have a screen. Small elevators and sometimes had to wait because they were to crowded. Probably would stay here again but on a higher floor.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Clean, comfortable stay"
The hotel is located in Times Square and close to plenty of options for shopping, food, and entertainment. The World Famous Carnegie Deli is in the next block. The room was small but comfortable, which is typical for NY. The room was clean and the staff was friendly and accomodating. Definitely would stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Park Central- nice place to stay. Will stay again."
Nice hotel. Great location. Very nice staff.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Way too expensive for the average traveler"
Room way smaller than it looks online. There is a resort fee of 30ish USD night, and parking is not included in your rate. The charges really add up (500+ USD). Would not stay here again. It is way too expensive for the size of room and almost non-existent contact with staff. BUT, the location is great. Still think you could find something better for […] the price. Will definitely go smaller and nicer next time. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Clean and new but noisy"
The hotel is newly remodled and clean but street noise is high and the AC unit is noisy. They put me on the third floor on a Monday evening and it was very noisy as a dump truck was idling outside until 3am as the city did trash collection. I would advise requesting a higher room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Fun in the City"
There with friends. Very nice hotel. It was a convenient location except that most of our restaurant choices were in the Soho area but nice walking area. Only complaint was that the temperatures were pretty warm and the HVAC had already been turned off for winter so a little warmer at night than desired.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great room, location, and overall experience"
Had a fantastic stay at the Park Central Hotel. We had to book last second and were not too sure what we were getting into. The room was clean and big for NYC. Spent three nights and never ran into any issues. The staff was very welcoming and always made sure that our stay was comfortable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Sweating without air conditioning"
I stayed here for two nights in mid-October. I arrived after 10pm my first night, and the thermostat showed that the room was 75 degrees. It was a muggy evening, and the air didn't work. The manager said they'd already switched to heat and that I should open the window (which opens a few inches and wouldn't have helped anyway). I requested a fan but […] it didn't help. Woke up sweating throughout the night and got horrible sleep. Another manager called the next night to inquire, and I relayed the story. He blamed it on the "two pipe system" and said this was very common in NYC. Not so. After my work event at night, I called four other hotels in a block or so proximity (Dream, Wellington, Marriott Essex, and Crowne Plaza Times) -- they all had their air on. Classic case of caring about the bottom line more than guests. When I emailed the manager back with this information, I got a snarky email about how I put him out because he'd "specifically allocated time to speak with" me and how all of us a sudden that morning the chief engineer had put the air back on. Too little, too late. Stay here if you like to sleep in warm, muggy conditions. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Park Central New York Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. We appreciate and value all of our guest’s feedback, both positive and constructive, as it is an excellent tool to continually improve our processes and afford a better experience for our future guests. Please accept my sincerest apology for the challenges you encountered during your stay. I am so sorry to learn that you did not have a comfortable stay with us. Our Heat and Cooling system is a two pipe system. At any given time, we can only have air-conditioning, heating or circulation of natural air in the building. Due to the fluctuation in temperatures in the Fall, our Engineering Team monitors the temperature 24/7, and we provide heat when the temperature drops below 50 degrees. We also monitor guest temperature requests, for example if the majority of our guests are asking for heat we will adjust accordingly. I appreciate all of your valuable feedback, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back. Best Regards, Don Fraser General Manage
"poor service for such an expensive hotel"

"Park Central is still scamming their customers"
When we checked in we were presented with a room rental agreement that added an extra facilities charge to the amount of the fee booked through hotels.com. We protested and the facilities charge was scratched through on the room rental agreement before I signed. I asked for a photocopy of the room rental agreement and the hotel refused. When we awoke […] the next morning to check out the facilities charge had been added back to the express check out invoice. Because of our schedule we didn't have time to dispute the bill. This is similar to what happened to us in 2003 and why we haven't used the hotel for eleven years. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great locale, but pricey for noisy room w no view"
Stylish hotel with contemporary rooms. Fairly large room by NY standards. However for 3 Benjamin Franklins per night (booked 45 days in advance) we had an internal room with a "view" of the hotel heaters/air conditioners on the 5th floor of this 30+ story building. Also the in-room air conditioner was exceptionally loud. A minor annoyance was the lack […] of any storage or counter space in the bathroom for toiletries, etc. Lastly be careful of the car service to the airports. They said we'd get a "black car" but we got a beat up white van driven by one of the bell hops friends. Awesome location and staff was very helpful. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good location, disappointing quality"
The first room we had smelled like mildew, so we switched. The second room we switched to smelled even worse of mildew unless we turned on the AC. There's no refrigerator, the room was uncomfortably small, there's no amenities to speak of except internet. The concierge is a joke and the walls are paper thin; I could hear full conversations all around […] me. The saving grace was it's central location, but rest assured for $400 a night, I'll never waste my money at this hotel again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The beds were comfortable. No chair in the room. No ammenities, e.g. coffee maker, no small bar, no small refrigerator, we couldn't find the ice maker. Considering the price of the room we were not happy and will not stay there again. Also, no room servive.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

For room costing $400, it faced the wall! Bath room used dispenser n body wash was empty n the others almost empty! Room was not sound proof enough! No coffee maker. On balance I was very satisfied with the location, comfort and convenience of the hotel. Two things irked me: First was the "facilities charge; $20/day, ostensibly for Wi-Fi and their gym. I did not use the gym and when I checked in they said Wi-Fi was free. To add insult to the injury, they added all of those New York taxes to the amount. Second, this […] is the first hotel I have ever stayed in where they did not replenish the toiletries every day. We had to make one small bar of soap and one small bottle of shampoo last 3 days. "Very well located!"
The hotel is very well located, close to the theaters, opera, central park, and the subway. You certainly get a good night sleep on a wonderful mattress. I had stayed at the Park Central years ago, pre-renovation. "Only thing worth staying here for is the LOCATION"
Booking the hotel was the easiest part of our stay. We flew in from Los Angeles to visit NYC with some friends. Upon arrival, we realized our hotel room was not as the one pictured on their website. We had requested a double-bed room, however, we came to find a room with two beds (which was fine), and a closet which separated the beds (almost like two […] separate rooms with an awkward wall in between).Hotel staff was nice in the lobby, however, when trying to reach housekeeping, or concierge, 9 out of 10 times, nobody picked up and the phone kept ringing. The shower curtains smelled horribly, especially after/during showers (should probably clean more efficiently). Housekeeping constantly knocked on our door, even when requested not to, at 8:00am every day. This hotel has NO ROOM SERVICE.. That’s a first. The elevators are extremely inefficient; we waited about 5 minutes each time we wanted to go up or downstairs. The ice machines on the floors DO NOT work. We had to scramble on different floors of the hotel in order to retrieve ice each day. Store’s shop, which included water, snacks, etc., closes way earlier than stated. Carpets did not seem clean, lots of dust everywhere. The room temperature remained at 68 degrees our ENTIRE 6 days there, HEATER DID NOT WORK!! This is NEW YORK! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

After reading many reviews I booked with some trepidation. All concerns were assuaged upon arrival. Staff was friendly and helpful, courteous and efficient. Hotel common spaces and rooms were clean and well appointed. Communication of the resort fee and the reasons for it were complete and accurate, contradicting some negative reviews read prior to […] arrival. The line at bag check was long, and the process seemed very inefficient and juvenile. Overall this was a great stay. "Nice location. Terrible condition of some ol room"
I paid nice amount but average range for New York and was expecting average but the room came below average! Power went out 3 times because of a bad wall power outlet. Found it out of power as walked in late night so maids left it that way, then later used iron and saw a spark and went out again. Called front desk and nothing for half an hour, went […] down and shame them in front of other guests and they scrambled and someone came over in a minute and flipped the breaker. Bathtub was clogged so was disgusting, room was worn out and super noisy even on 8th floor. Location is excellent though and terrific city and very nice places to visit at walking distance and amazing cart food all over. I would say if you want a luxury room and smooth vacation then stay out of city and commute in. The money you would save can be used for crazy parking if you want or use taxi or metro or whatever but will be much better than crummy expensive rooms and a smooth vacation.
