I have stayed in this hotel many times. It is always clean, quiet & comfortable. Best thing about the ARC is real coffee cream in the bar fridge in the rooms...no pacakges of chemical coffee creamers here. Nice bedsheets, too. The restaurant is pricey but generally 4-5 star food also, even breakfast. If you don't mind a fair price for high quality, you are going to be happy with this one. Pretty reasonable neighborhood restaurants & coffee shops close by on Bank St. if you need cheaper eats or coffee.

Never having travelled to Ottowa before wasnt sure what to expect. The Arc Hotel exceeded expectations with helpful and courteous staff, nice accommodations and great downtown location. We had arrived by car but never took it out of the garage. If you get a chance you must try their French Toast, a rare morning treat for someone who doesnt usually eat much in the morning. Clearly a smaller "footprint" to the hotel but that also proved to be a nice feeling.

The Arch reminds me of a club quarters, with a larger bathroom. My main issue was that there was a construction site outside of my bedroom window, so if you are an early riser...this is the place for you.

The hotel was located well for my use. However, I would have stayed in another hotel----any hotel----had I known how ancient and uncomfortable the bed would be. As a business traveler I really have just a couple of requirements. The hotel should be: 1) clean, 2) reasonably priced, 3) have a comfortable bed. It made my stay in Ottawa very difficult as I had sleepless nights and a sore back.

Reviewed by Janice of New York on Oct 4, 2008
Ive stayed at this hotel before, and have been impressed (hence the return visit) however, this time around, we had a very small room facing the parking lot (which at 3am had some kind of dumpster removal one of the days!). The hotel itself is clean, and the front desk service is very good (including the valet), but 3 out of the 4 days we had to CALL to get our room cleaned! At one point, my husband and I were in the room when the housekeeper barged in (without knocking!) Also - no refills on the coffee or the shampoo! Good thing we brought our own.
