Nice Hotel. A bit too far from the city center if your visit centers on Boston center. Shuttle service was very helpful as was the staff. Not much in the immediate area but close to MIT and HarvardGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Middle of Everywhere"
The hotel itself is very nice and the front desk staff was very welcoming and friendly. The in-hotel restaurant is very good with an extensive menu of Japanese cuisine, hibachi tables, and friendly and attentive staff. The hotel is literally less than 20 minutes from everywhere in Boston and Cambridge. We went to Harvard Museum of Natural History, the […] Sam Adams brewery, Harpoon brewery, Legal Seafood, Franklin and Stone zoos, the New England Aquarium, plus more and were seldom more than 20 minutes from the hotel. "Convenience and Parking"
Staff was very accommodatingGenuine Hotels.com guest review
the hotel wasn't anything special. it was only about a 10 minute walk from the Green line, which was great. It's right next to the river, which made for a pleasant walk. The room was always a bit chilly, and the water in the shower took a few minutes to get hot. But it wash' too troublesome. The hotel manager was extremely nice. Parking in the hotel's […] lot was pricey, about $32/night when we went. We initially booked 2 nights, then extended our stay once we got there for a 3rd night. The manager waived that parking for the 3rd night which as nice of him to do. The breakfast was alright. The staff was very friendly. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Places not to stay in Cambridge."
The hotel does not notify you that parking is $32 + tax until you've checked in. Breakfast is $12-16. Initial room was next to ice machine and vending area , unacceptably noisy but the staff changed the room without much fuss.Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by Courtyard by Marriott Boston-Cambridge Hi Steve, we apologize you were not aware of the parking fee when you checked in. We try our best to make sure all information and fees included in the stay is updated on our hotel partners website and try our best to share that information at check in as we are aware guests may not always be aware. We understand this was a surprise to you, but assure you that we do try aggressively to keep our guests in mind, and it is why we offer the lowest parking rate for overnight guests compared to all hotels in the surrounding area. Thank you again for your feedback.
"Expensive for what it is"
This is just a Courtyard... it's clean, staff was friendly, restaurant option in the hotel was extremely limited, lobby was smallish... but $350 a night!!!!! Not worth it, but had to stay there because that's were the conference I attended was.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not like the rest"
I've stayed in this hotel many of times and this time we booked the deluxe king room which was the only room available and it was worse than the regular rooms. Yes it had a nice view of the charles but the buiding jetted out from our room to the left so we couldn't keep our blinds open because the people walking in the hallway were literaly 2 feet away […] from our window. Also, you would think the "deluxe room" would be more updated or have something else where you are paying more for the room and it looked exactly like the others. Was disapointed in this last stay. But will stay here again because the staff is always friendly and the location is perfect from the pike, shopping, parks and downtown boston. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good location, bad service"
Service staff are not friendly, they broke some of my stuff in my room, and threw away the broken things, which included a custom made charger. Location is good, close to MIT and Harvard, and 1 mile away from the subway station.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Convenient location but a bit disappointing"
Compared to other Courtyards this one is just a bit shabby in general. Our room was too cold and there was no way to control the temperature - the hotel's suggestion: use an extra blanket. TV did not work properly - poor signals for a number of channels. Expect more for nearly $300 per night.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Staying on The Charles"
Our room over looked a boat house. Amazing to watch the single sculling early in the morning. Staff was helpful and attentive. As long as you can live with out room service in the morning, a great place to stay .Genuine Expedia guest review
It was fine but given how distance to both Cambridge and public transportation it is very pricey (even given that it was a holiday/marathon weekend). Restaurant options nearby are very limited which obviously isn't in the control of the hotel, but is a consideration. Japanese steakhouse restaurant is not very good. Running along Charles is great. Views […] are lovely. Made it to and from start and finish of Boston Marathon without difficulty. Good information for visitors and tourists and staff is quite helpful. Take advantage of $5/day hotel shuttle. Taxi rates are super expensive (even from a Chicago perspective). Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The room was overpriced, I assume due to the Boston Marathon. Shocked that outdoor parking was $32 a night especially since the hotel wasn't downtown. Even more shocked that they charged $5 per person to take the shuttle to the subway. No complimentary breakfast which most Marriott Courtyards provide.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Courtyard by Marriott Boston-Cambridge Hi Ms. Goodman, Thank you for providing your feedback about your stay. While all hotels in the area in Boston and the surrounding cities charge for parking we are happy to offer the lowest in the area without taking an increase in the parking like others have for the 2014 year. While we do charge a small fee to take our shuttle we find that the $5 with unlimited drop off and pick ups usually serves most guests needs. We are sorry you found the fee unsuitable. The breakfast at all Marriott Courtyards are not complimentary, but you will find that we still offer complimentary coffee and tea while most have phased out and have started charging for the starbucks bistro coffee. I hope you have an opportunity to try our breakfast which we make a point to provide fresh and local farmed options every morning. We hope you enjoyed your time here during the Boston Marathon, and look forward to seeing you again.
"Excellent location, great deal"
I was very pleased with my stay at this hotel. It's a great deal for anybody planning to stay in Boston, especially if you're planning to roam around Cambridge. It's right next to the Charles River, so most rooms have an excellent view. There is a Trader Joe's and a Whole Foods nearby. The hotel has a shuttle available to drive you to the T stops at […] no additional charge. There's usually a taxicab available outside the hotel. I found the room quite comfortable, although maybe a little cold. Did not have enough time to explore the pool and fitness room, so can't speak to those. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good location, but..."
If you'll be driving or willing to walk, its ok, but not easy if you plan to take the subway or expect a cab. Room was ok, until night when the heating system didnt work, and it was cold... Also, the bathroom had no ventilation systems.Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by Courtyard by Marriott Boston-Cambridge Thank you Ben for your feedback. In just a few months we will be doing a top to bottom renovation throughout the hotel and promise you that the temperature in your room will be much improved if you choose to come visit us again! Please also take advantage of our shuttle service that will bring you to all the local subway stops and prime areas in Cambridge. The shuttle runs all day till 10:30pm, and starts early at 7am. "how can marriott charge $200 for this?"
Dear Marriott, you really should rethink your business plan with a hotel where you charge $200 per night? I will grant that the view is wonderful. The room is standard. But what you offer is shameful. for $200 you cannot offer a continental breakfast? but charge $12.99 for it. Providing free coffee and muffins does not cut it, nor is it a breakfast. […] and to top it off, you TV channels are set to make more money. $19.99 to see a movie on demand; $4.99 to see a repeat of a TV show? More people should stand up to this sort of hucksterism. "Nice hotel--close to all universities and colleges"
If you drive it's close to everything; if you don't drive they have shuttles to Harvard campuses etc. The staff are vey friendly, but the parking rate is still too high--not sure how is the price of other hotels around.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Would stay again"
The room was clean, the staff was friendly, and there was hot chocolate and apple cider in the lobby. Although breakfast is not free, they have a buffet breakfast option. If you do not wish to splurge on the buffet breakfast, there are multiple options within a few minute walk (Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, Whole foods etc). The only complaint that I would […] have is it isn't in the most convenient of locations (~15 minute walk to the closest T stations), but it's within walking distance to both the green and the red lines. There aren't too many good dinner options nearby. I did not have a car, but I did see their parking fee that isn't advertised anywhere until check-in, so beware of that. Overall, it was a good experience and I would stay at this location again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

I loved the size and location of this Marriott. I liked that it was an older Marriott, yet completely refurbished and comfortable. Response by Courtyard by Marriott Boston-Cambridge Hi Chris, Your honest feedback, and details about your stay was very valuable to us, and I wanted to share how much we appreciate that you took the time to share these specific issues during your stay. I wanted to share with you that all proper departments were contacted with regards to your general observances of the hotel, and we are very aware! We have not done any extensive renovations to the guest rooms since 2008, but is scheduled to start November this year and we are truly looking forward to it as much as our repeat travelers are I'm sure! After this Summer, around November of 2014 our Courtyard will be undergoing a complete renovation. Colors and themes will be modernized and all of our furnishings are being replaced to brand new conditions. Look out for our Renovation Station because we cannot wait to share what this hotel will look like after. We are working on a display where the beverage station is currently. In regards to the renovation itself, specifics like the Marriott beds, lounge chairs/desks, TV, and granite in the bathrooms will be replaced. Standards things like carpeting, wallpapers, and exterior landscape will be redesigned to match guest rooms. We are also replacing all of our current ac/heat units with the standard Marriott digital thermostats and core that you have come to expect in Marriott properties! The breakfast area will as we assume be a hybrid of our popular buffet and enhanced Bistro concept that you have seen in other Courtyards that have evening dining and the Starbucks branded coffee. We are also moving our fitness room to the second floor overlooking the Charles River! Since we are one of the very last Courtyards to have the Bistro renovation (as our hotel opened in 2008 when they were starting to roll it out) we are now being given a new concept that is part Bistro and part of what Mr. Marriott envisions our Millennial travelers to want as our business travelers seek more areas to work and be comfortable in to re-energize.
This is a nice hotel to stay for the weekend, I was visiting MIT for the weekend and choose this hotel for the price and location. . I Recommend itGenuine Expedia guest review
"Too Expensive, too many fees"
I booked through Expedia the night before my stay. Very nice room for just under $150. A little pricey, but it's Cambridge, and it was last-minute. But when I checked in Friday night, the lady at the desk told me there were $50 additional "miscellaneous fees." The next morning, the breakfast cost $15 per person! Then when I checked out, the guy said, […] "Ok, the only thing missing is the overnight parking fee- $32." Excuse me, I told the lady last night that I had driven with a friend who also got a room at the same hotel! He paid the parking fee last night. But you're going to try and add that to my bill as well!! He then said, "hold on" and he had to consult with the other guy at the desk for a couple minutes in order to figure out whether he had to an adjustment or a rebate on my bill to get the parking fee off! Really, just very disappointed in their front desk staff, and all the fees that were NOT mentioned on their website when I booked with Expedia! Too expensive, all around. Only 2 GOOD things to say: the entire hotel including my room was sparkling clean, and the location is excellent: right next to the Charles River, and within walking distance of Dunkin's, Starbucks, and Trader Joe's. But again, TOO EXPENSIVE, too many HIDDEN fees, and the front desk NOT HELPFUL. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Fine for what it is"
This is a very conveniently located hotel that is what it is. There are no luxuries, and nothing comes cheap. When you add in all the fees and taxes, the daily parking rate and the cost of a breakfast buffet, my 6th floor room with a king bed cost about $245/night. I didn't use the pool or the gym. The free wifi is spotty and weak. The good news is […] that the room was clean and except for one light bulb, everything worked. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

hotel staff is lovely and incredibly helpful; rooms/ facility are fine, but because of the location, the hotel should offer more options for coffee at a late hour etc. Unfortunately, the location is just remote and isolated, but I would still stay there again because hotel tries to make it as easy as possible to get to central areas of CambridgeGenuine Hotels.com guest review
