The lobby and downstairs area is really nice, but then you get into an elevator from the 70's to your room that is large but there's little things - like no bed skirts so the bare mattress shows when you first lift the blanket, the toilet is super tiny, the internet jack is hanging out of the wall underneath the desk, and the bathroom isn't as clean […] as I would have been comfortable with. There's not many hotels to choose from that aren't a Super 8 kind of deal. Looking back I should have shelled out an extra $100 a night to stay at a nicer place. I wish there was a courtyard marriot in Regina which is where I always try to stay - so that's my basis for comparison for this hotel. If you put this place up against a courtyard hotel - in that comparison it'd be abysmal. But overall for the area, I guess it could have been worse - the employees at the radisson across the street were out front protesting wages. Read more

They did the best they could to take care of us...there was construction going on so if you weren't up and gone by 8 put the protective headphones on...very VERY noisy....The parking was also very poor...if you couldn't get a spot out front in the two few parking spots you could park in the ramp that was built for go carts.....and if it was full you […] could park on the street infront of the Salvation Army....Really..my $60K truck sitting there ripe to broken into..and the desk tells me that they they will only break in if they see something to steal???? This hotel was in a great downtown location close to restaurants and businesses. This was also it's drawback with the traffic noise reaching the room. The restaurant was very disappointing, the buffet that was 12.99 per person was outrageous. There was no food, and staff was useless. Check in was nice. Under ground parking was horrible. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, I won't be staying there again.

This Hotel is in need of upgrades. The door to the room fit like a barn door - and was chipped and in need of paint. Carpets should be changed. The room and beds were very clean. We are aware this is an older hotel but also are aware they have been doing upgrades and have upgraded rooms available. We saw the upgraded room pictures they publish, so paid the additional fee for the upgraded room and booked accordingly. Unfortunately the room is not what they show in the pictures. The upgraded room actually consists of new carpet, […] old bathroom fixtures, 30 year old faucets with missing trim, a mid grade paint job, old counters, old light switches, baseboards falling off, old trim wood with a splash paint job, a shower with water that cycles from burning hot to icy cold, an old style CRT TV, old light fixtures in hallways, broken tiles in elevators and a restaurant that told us we can not order from the menu on Sundays. We mentioned our disappointment with the room to the desk staff at check out and she confirmed that we had an upgraded room. When I noted that it does not match the published pictures she simply shrugged her shoulders. In my thinking a paint job is maintenance, and does not qualify as an upgrade. Likely the worst hotel we have stayed in in many years. We can not recommend this hotel to others. Read more

Explained this to the hotel receptionist hoping that they would give me the same room for each night save booking out. First receptionist was not helpful and said that this was not possible. No mention of construction at booking nor at checkin. In the elevator, signs saying how proud they were that all their balcony construction was complete. Imagine our surprise to be immediately underneath a room undergoing balcony constuction for 2 days! Note in our room said construction was only happening between 8am and 5pm. However, both mornings, […] banging and angle grinding and jack hammering noises begain about 715am. So loud in our room that we had to yell to hear each other. When I phoned to complain, they gave us 2 free breakfasts and some candy. Overall condition of the hotel is quite poor - it has fallen a looooooong way down over the years. They have done renovations, but they look cheap and not well done at all. Staff seemed nice and friendly, but the whole 2 days was pretty poor. The rooms are old and could use updating, but our problems were the noise and the front desk staff. We could hear EVERYTHING going on in the room across the hall, including children crying and doors slamming at 6:30 a.m. It was difficult to sleep because of this. Worn-out, seriously-overpriced hotel badly in need of renovation. Horrible location next to dangerous looking neighbourhood. Non-stop emergency vehicles dealing with (we don't want to know). Drunks and druggies everywhere. If you must stay in the 'Queen' city, recommend you stay in the outlying suburbs. Less expensive and probably safer.

This hotel has the infrastructure and location to feature as an excellent stop over. But I was disappointed in the room service. The hotel staff were polite, but the quality of supplies to the room were substandard and insufficient. Hotel needs an upgrade. Elevator is old, corridors are dirty, doors looks chopped up by rats.
