The hotel was steps away from beautiful Deefield Beach. The room was modest but very clean. The hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful. There were a few minimal hidden costs for parking and the room safe that were not shared in advance. All in all, a very pleasant, restful stay.

I loved the location of this hotel. It is beautifully situated on the ocean and the view is awesome. It is real close to restaruants that are nothing short of fabulous! Everything is updated except rooms. Rooms were okay but old. I was told that they will be redoing the rooms this year.

Older hotel, but clean and you couldn't beat the location. Across from the beach, and very close to all types of shopping and food, a very quaint clean beach community. The beach was all that I could ask for and I live on the west coast of florida. Deerfeild beach is a little hidden jem. If you stay at the hotel you are offered ocean view or city view, ocean view is worth it! Parking was $10 a day extra charge but it was close and finding parking off site would be a nightmare. So we sucked it up and enjoyed ourselves very much!

I have stayed at the Howard Johnson's Deerfield Beach over the past 20 years. It is a perfect location for people young and old, since you cross a cobble stone street and there is the wide open beach with a fishing pier par excellence next door. The executive staff is experienced, having been there for years. Harpoon Louie's is an excellent restaurant. Lunch poolside is always an option as well. This is the first time I have used a booking service and I was disappointed to find that the parking was charged as an extra ($10/day). That should be disclosed so that it can be considered when making the reservation.

Great location, great beach and great staff. Restaurantes all over the blocks around the hotel. Great beach and the staff was very friendly. Just remember that with the restaurants and little shops around means a little noise at night. It did not bother me. Other than that, great accomodations for the price.

If you are looking for a great location this is it. You are on the beach with resturants and shops within walking distance. It's an older hotel so the room are not fancy or updated.

I love it, its very nice, you can watch the sunrise from the balcony, and very close to the beach, if I can I will return to the same hotel, was a beautiful stay, and the pool is clean and warm, the people that works there are very nice and helpful.

Great location but hotel needs updating

I grew up in Deerfield Beach and knew this was the neighborhood I wanted to stay for a family vacation. I knew the hotel was there when I was a kid but was pleasantly surprised to discover the entire first floor public area to be recently remodeled. two restaurant/bars, Live music nightly and a pool restaurant/bar for guests only. The rooms are adequate. I told the mgr about the poor ratings for firm mattresses online and she said they have egg crates to place on the mattress for a softer bed upon request. My bed was firm but comfortable. Free internet was fast and location directly in front of the fishing pier and new beachfront walking path were great. Try the Whales Rib around the corner for great local food and drinks at reasonable prices.

Yes, it was comfortable and clean - no mold.

I have no complaints on the cost, location, or amenities except the beds were rock hard!!! My back hurt for 2 days!!! We'd still go back though.

Clean, comfortable hotel right on the beach. Plenty of restaurants and shops within a few feet. Hotel overlooks the ocean and the pier. The extra fee for parking was the only surprise.

Great view. Not such great service in the hotel bar and grill. Food was ok.

Great location right on the beach, good food and entertainment right in hotel, more in surrounding area. Rooms are a little small and dated, but the mini balconies on the beach side provide an exceptional view. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to spend more time on the beach and enjoying the area than in the room. Sunrise view from the beach side rooms is post card worthy.

Walk right across the street to a beautiful beach. Great Bloody Mary's at the Whale's Rib and good dining at J.B.'s all within walking distance

Hotel offered a good room for the money. The only downside or upside depending upon your perspective is that there is an outdoor lounge downstairs with live music. You can hear it playing until midnight on weekend nights.

This Hotel is in a beautiful location. Everything is within walking distance. The resteraunts and bar are located on the first floor. The pool area also has a bar. The staff is very nice. I will deffinitely stay here again.

Great central location to east coast hot spots. Great oceanview...worth the extra charge for oceanfront. Only complaint was parking...extra charge to park in the parking lot, which is about 1/2 a block away...

We had a wonderful stay. The only thing travelers should be told ahead of time and arn't, is that there is a 10 $ a day parking fee. All else was great.

The hotel was in a great location amd pretty much what I expected for a Howard Johnson's. The beach was right outside and there was a great walking path to take for exercise while checking out the surrounding beach area. The restaurant and bar in the hotel were good. The beds were really uncomfortable and hard as a rock. I had to stretch each morning to straighten up. The staff was just okay. They did their job but did not go out of their way to make you feel like you were on vacation. The drain in the tub was clogged when we arrived and it was taken care of as soon as we reported it. You are definitely paying for location, not frills.

Everything was very nice & clean. Right next to beach. But there beds were verrrry hard. Should be some new mattresses.

This is the third time I have stayed here and as usual my stay was wonderful. The service is outstanding, the people are very friendly, and the location is beautiful. I would definately recommend this as a lovely vacation spot.

This was our second stay at the Howard Johnson. We love the location. The buidling is older but the rooms are comfortable and the oceanfront rooms give a great view. We will definitely be back to stay here again.

My husband and I love this hotel. It is perfectly located within walking distance to many good places to eat or just cross the street and you are on the beautiful beach! We had our honeymoon at this hotel and will always return to it for just a night to ourselves without the kids. It would also be a perfect hotel to take children if you chose to.

Var på genomresa och stannade endast en natt på detta hotell. Personalen i receptionen var trevlig. Man fick däremot fråga om allt man ville veta och personalen tog inga egna initiativ till att informera. Rummet var väl utrustat, däremot var städningen alldeles för ytligt gjord. Kaffemuggarna luktade rakvatten och hade hål i botten. Själva ytorna i badrummet såg ut att vara rengjorda, men inte hörn och avrinningshål. Hotellet har ett bra läge precis vid strandpromenaden.
