"Best staff in a boutique hotel"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 26, 2013
Excellent, would stay there again and again. The friendlyness and attentiveness of the staff and clean accomodations was just what I needed after a long day of meetings.

Enjouyed the stay. Front desk service can get better. Toilet was too high and too cramped. Room in general was comfortable.

"A great hotel"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 25, 2013
Lovely stay. Hotel is a little out of the way, but it's very close to public transport links, so that wasn't a problem. Staff spoke perfect English and German. There's a bakery just down the road too, which was a nice bonus. Would definitely stay there again.
"Brief stay, brief review"
We really only stayed overnight at the hotel, but I was happy with the location (close to the main central train station) and the next morning, because I had to leave very early (4am) the hotel very kindly packed me a to go box breakfast that lasted me for 2 meals. Other than being a little over the top in the decorating, the hotel was fine. The room […] was pretty large actually. The only complaint would be the shower which was a small base with a pull around shower curtain. If you do not know how to shower in these, back to the v in the walls and the sprayer pointed to the walls not the curtain, you could easily flood the bathroom floor. "Munich ArtHotel"
Nice location 1.5 blocks from the Hauptbahnhof (main train Station and U-Bahn and S- Bahn stops). If you are travelling by train it is very convenient. Also were able to accomodate 5 of us in 2 rooms very comfortably. Not super luxurious but comfortable with an excellent breakfast every morning.Genuine Expedia guest review
This is a nice hotel for the person looking to save money in Munich. The rooms were customarily small, but relatively cozy. The location is ok if you don't mind the walk to the Hauptbahnhof. If walking isn't for you, then you might want to choose a closer hotel. The accomodations are nice, but they are nothing spectacluar.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very helpful staff in conveniently located hotel with great breakfast buffet.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice!"
Great hotel, very close to the train station and city center, interesting art. The traffic noise was really loud, but not with the window closed. But it was too warm to keep it closed. Breakfast was exceptional. Bar was nice tooGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good hotel and great location"
The hotel is the best I've stayed in in Europe. The room was decent size and the bathroom is large compared to other hotels in Europe. The free breakfast is a actually a breakfast buffet, not just coffee and biscuits. The location is awesome close to everything. Best Hotel in Europe so far!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Really nice hotel. The name Art Hotel is appropriate because the hotel is very nicely decorated. I was in the Pop Art floor and my room was full of Andy Warhol pictures. Breakfast is good and Location near the main station is also very convenient.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Arthotel Munich"
Room was clean and decent size for a European hotel. Bathroom/shower exceeded expectations. Breakfast was great with a large variety. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Room was made up each day. Location was very convenient to Central Station and transportation. All in all a very good experience. Would stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"I like it"
Rooms small but acceptable for short stays. Nice breakfast - everything you want. Helpful staff. The "art" theme is not in everyone's taste but the value for money makes up for it.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good bargain"
It is small and comfortable and a nice bargain. They have good/decent food available and a nice little bar with a very good bartender. The staff at the front desk was very friendlyGenuine Expedia guest review
"Some Improvements Needed"
The rooms were spacious and clean; however, even with the radiators in the OFF position, the room was still hot such that we had to open a window for relief (February trip). The amenities in the bathroom were a disappointment - no shampoo and no wash cloths, only face and body towels. Most of the staff were nice, but a few were a bit on the surly side. The […] breakfast was always good. The neighborhood is a little on the sketchy side, but very close to the Hauptbahnhof Central Underground. Also, we were overcharged for mini-bar use. "Adequate Art Hotel Munich"
The hotel was comfortable and the included breakfast was very good. The only problem I noticed was the intermittent Wi-Fi. I had to log in over and over again, even while I was in the middle of something. But the hotel was fine, close to the Hauptbahnhof and a short (15 min) walk to the city center. I'd stay there again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Arthotel Munich - convenient walk to Hauptbahnhof"
The staff was friendly and my room was comfortable. I don't know what the other rooms are like but I assume they are all different. This is one of those hotels with themed rooms in different art styles. That was not why I chose it but it was a nice alternative to the usual hotel room decor. My room had chrome deer's heads on the walls and clouds painted […] on the ceiling. Free breakfast buffet with pretty standard fare for German hotels. There is no restaurant for dinner, but you can order food from the bar and bring it to your room yourself, or for an extra charge they will deliver it. Internet in the room was free when I was there, but that may not always be the case; on the web site it says it's only free in public areas. The room price was great. This was January, so it's probably more in the summer. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

its not the nicest hotel on earth, however, it is very close to the city center and the rooms are clean with fairly comfortable beds and a nice bathroom. The staff was very helpful as well when I asked for general directions and advice on Christmas Markets.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

close to the main train station, easily walkable. The hotel is decorated with different art themes on each floor. They offer a huge selection for breakfast. "OK"
I did not realize when I booked, that this room was so expensive because it could sleep 6-8. I was looking for a room for my husband, myself and my 19 year old daughter and rooms for three adults are limited. In retrospect, I wished I had looked for other options. We were paying for space we did not need. This is a barebones hotel as far as rooms go. […] But our beds were comfortable. We had no heat the second night, and the hotel would not adjust our price because we had prepaid through Expedia and said they had no flexibility. They did provide us with a space heater. The breakfst buffet was fabulous. It also had a bar that served light snacks which was very convenient for a relatively small hotel. It is close to public transportation, which was a big plus also. "Great Breakfast and friendly customer service"
The location was within walking distance to the banhoff and within walking distance to most of the exibitions we saw. I would rate the hotel as excellent but the beds were uncomfortable, they were extremely hard, so if hard beds is your thing you would be extremely satisfied. The breakfast was excellent and had a wide selection to choose from.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very nice and cultural hotel .."
Really nice hotel with really fresh and youth experience.. worth price/valueGenuine Expedia guest review
I found ARTHOTEL an excellent choice for my stay in Munich. It is a short walk from the main train station (and easy to find) and a reasonable walk to the main shopping and tourist attractions in old Munich. The city's public transportation system is easy to use, so being close to access to many of these options makes it "close" to all of Munich's sights. […] The breakfast offers a wide selection of fresh breads & toppings (Nutella, cream cheese, butter, jams), meats & cheeses, beverages, as well as eggs and sausage. Hotel staff were very helpful, always available, and (important for me) were fluent in English. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Art hotel Munich-overrated"
This hotel was convenient for the Oktoberfest location, however, the rooms were ok, bathrooms were less than satisfactory--bath towels were so old & disgusting! I realize it is loud during the fest celebration, but our main lobby & hallways shouldn't be a loud party zone as they were at times. The front desk people were not friendly either. "Great Location & Good Value"
This hotel is in a great location for us. We were about 2 quick blocks from the Central Rail Station, so we could get anywhere in Munich very quickly, and were only about 2 blocks from Oktoberfest. There were lots of restaurants and shops that were all within walking distance. With that being said, and considering the time of year that we went, it was […] extremely busy and very loud throughout the night with people coming in and out. That was the only downfall. Breakfast was adequate, the hotel was clean & the staff was helpful. Overall a good value. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Arthotel - comfortable but no A/C"
During our three night stay, we enjoyed the comfort of the beds and convenience of the hotel to the train station. But, when we were there it was unusually hot and had to sleep with the window open and fan blowing into the room. The street was noisy, but it eventually became white noise and we slept fine.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"ArtHotel in Munich"
This hotel is an excellent location for those attending Octoberfest. Near train station and faregrounds. It was very pricey because it was Octoberfest. There are no rugs or carpet so it can be very noisy. Breakfast was good and free internet service. Staff was very pleasant and helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

This hotel was inexpensive, close to the train station, the service was friendly and efficient, the room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast included was great and the hotel was nicely arranged. "You're in Munich to see the city anyways"
The hotel is an old school or office building, some of those "architecture crimes" built for function, not for beauty in the 60s. Moxst of those buildings are detonated today which is justified. The Hotel people surely have made the absolute best out of such a building if it is decided to let it stand. It is right in the middle of the city, 150 m (450 […] ft) from the main station. If guests arrive by car the hotel has a deal with the municipal parking garages where cars can be left on reduced flat rates (the own garage seems to be too small). In Munich that fact alone is a miracle. The rooms are newly renovated and very clean (not highly luxurious and don't forget a microscope for the 12'' monitor of the TV-set. A combination of value, location and (Miracle Nr.2) incredible friendlieness of the staff, throughout atypical for the country of Bavaria, many families with children or students take the place as location. Breakfast therefore is school catering style and noise level. The kids surely will have many friends within minutes and the "Elderly" can consider to explore Munich one time by themselves. The place is worth a visit for the empoyees alone, whichs friendlieness and helpfulness is unseen in Bavaria anywhere else, even at places 100 times more "precious" which means expensive.. I liked it and if I will go to Munich next time I'll take it again. One urgent advice: Leaving the parking garage burn into your mind EXACTLY the place where you left the car, the entrance and exit of the garage, how you came there and the exact itinerary you returned. You won't find the entrance of the garage otherwise, even it just 2 blocks away. Those garages were obviously bult by specialists for camouflage. After leaviing my car I met some people after hours having found the entrance of the garage and I was warned and took the warning serious: next time I take it triple serious. It is not so boring there Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

The rooms look larger on their website than they actually are. "Arthotel - Munich"
The hotel is a little offputting when seen from the outside but once inside, the impression changed. The lobby contains a nice little bar with friendly bartenders and a separate sitting area with free WiFi access. The rooms are typically sized for Europe but we had no shortage of space (3 women in one room), the blow dryer worked, we had ample mirrors […] and a nice little refrigerator. The breakfast buffet was a pleasant surprise -- plenty of selection and tasty food. The location is perfect for getting around the city and is not that far from the Marienplatz. There are plenty of restaurants in the area serving very good food and the train station is literally down and across the street. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Munich.
