Reading the other reviews I was a little worried about my stay at the Ramada. This place was exactly what you pay for a good sized clean room with no real frills. There are several great restaurants and bars to keep you happy, and you're a 20 can ride to other tourist attractions.

Wonderful people at the desk- very nice, attentive and helpful. Room had obviously been remodeled and was very comfortable, although small. The hotel itself can use an upgrade. Would go back if need an inexpensive hotel by airport to sleep and do some work in the room. Was on business so did not notice if area was good for roaming around.

This hotels location makes it the best value. The area the hotel is located is considered one of the highest cost of living in the United States. There was a particular smell in the room from the rugs in room 219 on the second floor near the elevator. The rugs require cleaning with a strong deodorizer. The walls are very thin, did we mention the walls are thin? Hopefully your neighbors are not newlyweds. Your wall mates are essential to a quiet stay. The amenities that will not be duplicated for the price at this location are: 1. Flat Screen TV with cable 2. Refrigerator 3. Microware 4. Alarm Clock 5. Dryer 6. Coffee Maker 7. Multi-use table 8. Waffle & Cereal Breakfast (Better than nothing) 9. Location, Location, Location, did we forget to mention location? There is nothing wrong with saving on lodging. But the frugal appear to always search for a reason to complain. There are five star locations that fall short also. Read more

At first I was a little uncertain if I had booked a good hotel. The parking lot is small and the front lobby is a bit musty smelling. However, the staff is very kind and helpful and once we got into our room my worries were put to ease. The room was small, but comfortable. The bedding was clean and new looking and the furniture and tv were wonderful. […] There is a microwave and refrigerator which came in very handy for some of our kids leftovers. The bathroom is very very small...but clean. You CAN hear the neighbors...but if you have a huge issue the desk staff is very helpful. The hotel is extremely convenient. Immediately behind it is a beautiful harbor with several restaurants. We went to Pizza Nova, I had the most delicious pasta I've ever eaten. It's 6 minutes from Old Town and 10 from Balboa Park. Also, within 5 or 6 minutes is Liberty Station. There are a TON of restaurants there. I suggest Corvette Diner. We will stay here again. Read more

No car rented but enough eating options within walking distance and close enough to PLNU shuttle stop service, a good exercise walk to PLNU. Best rate I found/value for the $. A friend and I stayed there because it was close to the cruise ship dock. Enjoyed the shuttle service from airport and cruise ship shuttle the next day. Only problem was the length we had to pull heavy suitcases to room. Staff is great.

The room was small but comfortable. It was a great price for the area. We were across the street from the water on Shelter Island. Great place to watch the sunrise. Bed was comfy with lots of pillows. Hotel is not far from the Seaport Village and Gaslamp Quarter...we had our own personal car, but it looked like there was good public transit.

This hotel was in horrible condition. Or room smelled very musty and I was itching all night?? The walls were paper thin so I didn't sleep a wink. The front desk forgot our wake up call and the staff did the very minimum to assist us. Definitely do not stay here.

My wife and I stayed at the Ramada Airport in San Diego for one night. We needed a place near the airport since we were flying home the next morning. The Ramada was a perfect location for our needs. They had airport shuttle service and a free hot breakfast for a very reasonable price. The room was quite small, but since we were only they for one night, […] it was more than adequate. The bed was comfortable, but the pillows could have been "squishier." The staff at the front desk was friendly and helpful. They gave us a list of nearby restaurants that were well within walking distance. If you need a place near the San Diego airport for an overnight stay, I'd recommend this Ramada as the best place to stay. Read more

The hotel offers a very good value and a positive, friendly staff. Unfortunately our room was quite noisy due to the air conditioner in the room above us.
