The neighborhood is not very nice to be walking at night. There are a lot of homeless people and nothing to see around. The highway passes right by which can be helpful if you want to get somewhere fast. There is a construction in front of the hotel going on. There was just 1 guest I saw, so nothing was going on at the pool area.

I was a little nervous about where to stay in Miami as I'm not very familiar with the area and was worried about staying in a sketchy area or finding a hotel that doesn't live up to it's touched-up pictures. This hotel, however, was a GEM! Way better than I expected! The parking and in-room dining was pretty expensive, but that's to be expected in Miami. […] I was actually upgraded from a standard king to a deluxe room, as they had filled all their standard rooms. The deluxe room was WAY worth the stay. Lots of little surprises like a television built into the bathroom mirror and a huge shower and tub area. My balcony overlooked the bay and the city. I was incredibly impressed with the quality of the room and the relaxing atmosphere. The bed was super comfortable and I felt like a rock star here. The staff was friendly and knew me by name, even though I was only there for one night. There was only one issue - I assume that they have some smoking rooms in the hotel because every once and a while, I could smell a hint of cigarette smoke through the walls of the bathroom. Not enough to annoy me and not enough to detract from my stay but it was definitely there. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and would consider taking the trip out to Miami again just to stay here. I really don't want to write a negative review about this place but I feel like I was really let down. I’ll try to be fair. Positives Building itself is beautiful and close to almost everything that we were there for. The pool area is beautiful. The Valet staff was very friendly and helpful, especially the main lady. Beds are comfortable. Sheets/linens […] seemed to be clean and good quality. Negatives When we got to the hotel we were told that our room (Deluxe King) was sold out and that they would be upgrading us (Room 1001). New room was huge but VERY shabby. Not cozy at all. Floors were loose and creaked and moved when you walked over them. Stains all over carpet and chips on furniture. No balcony furniture. Sub-par room masquerading as an upgraded suite. Appreciated, but asked be moved to room I booked. Room 902. The room looked nothing like what I booked. The layout was different (user submitted photos showed warm, inviting, intimate, and chic room). Our room was oddly laid out with a LONG hallway that separated the bathroom from the actual sleeping area but more importantly the entire room was laid with more carpet. UNLIKE what was advertised. There was more, but I’m just highlighting the main issues. I really, REALLY wanted to like this hotel and I’ll still give it 3 stars (really I’d rather give it 2.5) but unfortunately it didn’t live up to its rating. Maybe I set my expectations to high, maybe they were unrealistic, I don’t know. Read more

Downtown location was convenient to Miami Beach, design district and great restaurants. The Biscayne Suite was really sweet! Hotel staff was friendly and attentive, and keep the place spotless. Amenities such as pool and spa, were terrific.

Rooms are big and comfortable. However, there are some issues regarding: 1. Safety: there is no control on the access to the rooms. Anyone from the street can go directly to the rooms. There are no employees at the entrance that control the access. Because the lobby is in the 3rd floor, anyone can go up to the rooms without being seen. 2. Check In and […] Information: when I arrived, there was only one person in charge of check in, taking the calls from the rooms and getting outside phone calls for reservations. Obviously, it was chaotic although she tried to do her best. 3. Valet parking is a mess. The average waiting time can be 15 to 20 minutes to get your car. This is a hotel within a condo building and it seems that the condo owners have priority (maybe because they are friends of the people working as valets? ). For $32 a day, you should expect much better than that. Read more

What a great surprise...normally wouldn't think to stay downtown but highly recommended by host, close to business meetings. Very chic, gorgeous rooms, fab bathroom, great restaurant with creative, light menu, beautiful spa, great gym, rooftop pools and just 10 minutes to South Beach. Only complaint, taxis took way too long to arrive!

I've enjoyed my stay at the Casa Moderna and will stay there again. The rate was acceptable and I got upgraded to a suite by a very friendly staff named Fritz. The onpy prolem that I had was the noise from the Freeway at night because I was on the 6th floor facing Biscayne Blvd.

Almost everything is great in Casa Moderna. Bad things are: 1. Valet prices ($34 overnight) really expensive 2. Restaurant is poor in menu and expensive 3. Wi-Fi is not so fast for people who require great connection

This hotel we found online reduced in price as a last minute deal. After arriving at the hotel we found out that is half hotel and half residential building. I didn't find much of a problem with this except the hotel half was smaller and strangely enough the lobby was on the second floor. Meaning you walk in with no clue were you are going (slight safety […] concern since anyone can get on the elevator and take it to the floor they desire. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. My only problem with the property is that there were several maintenance issue (i.e. pool chairs broken, TV in bathroom broken, etc.) which leads me to believe the owner is focused more on the residential side. This hotel was overall great, from the moment my husband and I gtot greeted by the valet to the spacious room with the Comfortable bed. I was a little upset that we had to pay for a balcony room. Bed is extremely comfy, pillows too, the bathroom is great specially the tub which you can soak in, fit perfectly 2 people in there! the one thing if you are not there as a couple maybe the see through door in the shower may be a little uncomfortable, but my hubby and I loved it. the only detail I saw was some spots on the kitchenette but it was not dirty at all, looked like old stains. everything was just amazing! right across the AAA were you could go to bongos or bayside so location was great.
