Everything was outstanding. The staff from the front desk, to the food service & cleaning crew were friendly & helpful. The breakfast had many choices, including scrambled eggs, sausage, hot biscuits with gravy, waflles & the other typical continental food items as well. Room was very clean and comfortable. My only problem was that I reserved a king deluxe room that was smoking. I booked my room almost 2 months ahead of time so you would think that I would get my preference in booking that far ahead. I was checked into a small king room and it was non smoking. I called back down to the desk and even brought my conformation […] with me when I went down to talk about it and was told that they were sold out that night due to an out of town football team that was there for the playoffs. Now being familiar with the football playoff system in our state, I knew the football team did not know until the previous weekend that they would be traveling to Mobile, Alabama. So those reservations were made the same week. There was a couple of people there for the game that had smoking rooms that I had requested but they wanted nonsmoking which I had, but they were already checked in. We were moved the next day to a large king room which I believe was the king deluxe due to all the room. The only trouble was that I was moved to another nonsmoking room so we just said to heck with it and stayed in the large room. The housekeeper on the first floor named Linda is a great employee and whatever they pay her is not enough. She took pictures of my wife and I and was most personable, a definite asset to the hotel. Hotel was OK. No problems, nothing to get excited about, nothing to get upset about. Shower was good, beds were OK. Close to the freeway and to many restaurants, so it is a decent place to stay if you're traveling with a pet.

When we arrived in reception the duty receptionist was on the telephone, but took a moment out of the call to welcome us. The foyer was super clean, tidy and looked very homely. The room was very comfortable and clean. Although initially difficult to locate due to local street designs, even with GPS, access to a major roadway was easy. Our room was very comfortable and included a nice recliner for relaxing. My wife and I stayed there for 2 nights--the first time we've stayed at a Drury Inn. Getting to and from the hotel in Mobile, AL is somewhat cumbersome. You can't arrive at/leave the hotel via a main street, but via an access road off the main street (Airport Road). The access road has on and off exits which aren't clearly marked and often a little […] dangerous for the tourist unfamiliar with the area. That being said, the hotel itself was nice. The check-in and check-out was quick, the staff always had a smile on their faces, and said "hi, how are you?" when you met them in the hall. The complimentary breakfast, while not made to order, was very adequate with all your basic items such as french toast, scrambled eggs, biscuits/gravy, sausage, waffles, muffins, etc. One of the things that set this hotel apart, though, was the free 5:30 Kickback consisting of hot items such as hotdogs, chicken strips, macaroni and cheese, baked potato, broccoli and cheese soup, etc. There is also a Denny's right next door that you can just walk to. The room itself was nice and comfortable, but average in decor and size. The only negative we had was that the bathroom was very small (only enough room to turn around in), but the shower in the bathtub was excellent with great pressure and smooth flow. Overall, this hotel is nice and friendly and very adequate for everyone provided you don't require a lot of bathroom space. Read more

I was surprised that it wasn't cleaner. The carpets were dirty and the carpet in my room had wet spots and had an unpleasant odor like a dirty cleaning rag. It wasn't up to the usual Drury Inn standards

The staff informed me that the Air Conditioner was being replaced and it would be warm. The room was not bad and the air flow made it comfortable. It wasn't until 10 pm that I called the front dest about the A/C. They said it shouldn't be much longer. Around midnight I heard the new A/C kick in. This did not bother me so much because the front desk […] kept me informed as to the problem before checking-in. The next day the hotel had a fire alarm test. The walls were also paper thin as we could hear everything going on outside the room. We could also hear the TV and people talking in the adjoining room (exercise room). The hotel was different from other higher scale Drury Inns. Thine chain must have bought the hotel from another chain because the bathroom was small and nothing in the room had the Drury appearance that I am accustomed to. Our air stopped working in the middle of the night.
