"unpleasant service, inconvenience"
If you just stay overnight, then this Days Inn Bloomington West might be average to have a good sleep. But if this is a long stay vacation, it won't be an ideal place at all. First, there is nothing close enough for walking if you don't have a car. Second, the shuttle at the hotel doesn't run on-time schedule (depends on who is the driver and their […] mood to be on time or not), the shuttle driver doesn't help me with luggage or not even tell me I can put my luggage in the trunk. Third, the service desk never smiles nor greets when seeing me approaching the desk. .. I don't want to think about my stay , I just never stay at the Days Inn ever. It was the worst experience i'd ever had in my life. I hate the front desk attitude and i don't think that man deserve to be a front desk service. We had a group of 11 for black friday shopping. Our rooms (3) were large and adjoining which was the best part. When rating a hotel I take in to account the chain of where I am staying plus the age of the place. This place is older so it naturally is not going to be perfect. But everything for us was as expected. The Breakfast was very large for a continental […] breakfast, more of a deluxe. Did not use pool so can not rate it, the people i saw in there seemed to enjoy it. The other bonus was that the hotel was also using the airport shuttle, to take/ pick-up people from the MOA. So the guests did not have to try and drive in all the traffic. It relieved alot of potentially unneeded stress. IMO above average but not knock your socks off so I give it a 4 out of 5. This is my 3rd stays on the hotel in 2012. Staff were always friendly and helpful from a driver, food servers, front desk, to housekeeping. Greg was a great guy who exceeded my expectation. We found this hotel to meet our needs for our stay over the Thanksgiving holiday. It was close and convenient to Mall of America and many other stores for Black Friday shopping. "tremendous value"
I thought this hotel would be ordinary for an inexpensive hotel. The hotel staff was phenomenal, pleasant and helpful. The indoor pool was a good temperature and well maintained. We booked last minute and we were on a budget. We weren't expecting a nice hotel for the rate they gave us but my family enjoyed it. The pool was good enough (nice temperature and clean!) and my kids loved it. "Good for quick stay."
I arrived about 10:30 PM for a room that was guaranteed until midnight. No one was at the front desk. About 15 minutes later the desk person arrived, but it looked like he had been out with friends or family for who knows what. Was very good and professional. I didn't have time for the breakfast the next morning but it was set-up in the same space as […] the lobby, which smelled of chlorine from the pool, which was just off the lobby. Overall, the hotel was very nice. A little outdated in some parts, but still nice enough for the price. The internet was down for most of our stay, so that was quite disappointing since I specifically looked for a hotel with wireless so we could look up good restaurants and such, but they were very apologetic about it. This hotel has a long history of owners that failed to make updates properly or at all. We were recently purchased and our newest owners seem dedicated to making a hotel that they can be proud of. We have already begun the improvements to the rooms and are just now completing the installation of our new furniture. We are planning to install new window treatments and renovate the bathrooms in the near future.
Our hotel room was very spacious and the room was quite nice. My only complaint with the room itself was that the pillows and beds were quite firm and not really as comfortable as I like. The staff was friendly and helpful. I didn't like that there seemed to always be workers hanging in the lobby though. The breakfast was decent and had a variety of […] options each day.
