We were surprised to find everything very pleasant about this hotel. As one of the less expensive ones in the area, I expected it to be less than perfect, but for the most part it was very comfortable, and the hotel staff was friendly and helpful.

The pillows need to be replaced and the lighting should be improved. Toilet ran unless you jiggled the handle. Breakfast was okay and otherwise the stay was fine. Location near University of MIssouri was convenient and there was plenty of parking.

This hotel was not at all what we expected. It was not clean and smelled of smoke, despite being a non-smoking room. We actually did not even stay her and chose to leave due to the dirtiness and outdatedness of the room.

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. I can say that the hotel staff/front desk was extremely courteous throughout those 2days, but unfortunately, this is the only "pro" that I can give this hotel. The location is very close to the highway however it's very congested with traffic. My room, in particular, was right across from the vending machines, which […] were apparently the hot hang-out spots during the night. I would hear people talking loudly outside my door until 4am. Another hangup was the smell. My entire room absolutely reeked of cigarette smoke. So much so, that I had to purchase a bottle of febreeze to spray down my room. How do I begin . . . we checked in last Friday evening (April 26). When we tried to turn on the faucet on the bathtub, it was immovable -- neither one of us could turn it. We called the front desk and asked for assistance and after calling a second time 45 minutes later, he finally appeared. He could not turn it on either; brought in a cordless screwdriver […] to try to loosen the handle which didn't make it any looser. He then told us he would look around to see if he could find a monkeywrench for us to use; he never returned with one. (!!!!!!!!!!!) We finally took a towel and wrapped it around tightly in an effort to turn it and get some water . . . the best we could do was lukewarm. This of course was a major inconvenience and if I told you how much we paid for this one night in the room, you would be shocked. Another disturbing thing -- the toilet tank lid was NOT a toilet tank lid; it was a piece of plastic that was twice as big as the tank and just sitting there loosely -- to flush we had to reach under and then up to the flush handle. AGAIN -- YOU WOULD BE SHOCKED TO KNOW HOW MUCH WE PAID FOR THIS ROOM. Never again. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!! We couldn't leave fast enough the next morning. Read more

We wanted a non-smoking room and we should have also asked for a no cat urine room, because it smelled like a kennel for stray tom cats. After complaining, we were given another room that smelled like smoke with a lethal dose of air freshener, and our feet stuck to the bathroom floor. The hotel was average and had a pretty good price. The room was pretty clean. The heat was not on when we went in the room so it took several hours to be comfortable. The pool temperature was very cold, which was very disappointing because it was one of the main reasons we chose this hotel for our 2 year old to swim. Asked for a rollaway bed, was told there was one, but it never arrived. When checked at desk about 1 hour later, was told there was none available- no one thought to tell us. tub backed up 2 times. - black residue. Pool definately needed clarifier, hot tub needed cleaned.

The photos on here are not at all what the hotel is like. I walked in to a unmade bed, no jacuzzi tub in my "suite". It was a room with a king sz bed and a bathroom. Nothing nice about this at all, not in a very good part of town and did not feel very safe there. I didnt stay, I walked out and found another hotel to stay at!

The vending machine did not work, and there was only one machine, per the desk person, in the entire hotel. It is an older building (it may have been another hotel at one time), and it showed its age. The continental breakfast was sufficient: Biscuits, gravy, pastries, waffles, toast, juices, and milk.

For a low price hotel it wasn't bad but a non-smoking room is not supposed to be the lack of a smoking sign and ash trays. It shouldn't smell like smoke. Our room did and it needs to be changed and addressed. The bed was comfortable and the staff was helpful. The value was there. Do something about the smoking problem please.

Our main problem with the hotel was although it was smoke free room, the was a cigarette smoke that permeated the whole room. Also the bed spread was in a shabby condition. The positive that I would give the hotel is that the staff was very friendly and helpful.

The hallways were smelly and smelled like smoke. The original room they gave us smelled awful and had no way to secure the window shut and it was on ground/street level. The second room they gave us, the person had to install a make-shift lock (a piece of wood nailed into the window frame) to make it secure. The toilet stopped up about 5 times in just […] one night and never did flush properly the entire time. The staff seemed annoyed with every thing we asked them not only in regards to the problems we had but even simple favors like asking to borrow a telephone book from the lobby when we were checking out. My only complaint waswhen I got to Columbia and called for specific directions, the desk clerk could not tell me how to find the location from a major highway nearby. They didn't know any other main streets or highway names, only the exit number. I couldn't tell exit number from what highway. Perhaps they should be able to answer simple questions such […] as that. When I arrived they also directed me to walk back outside clear around to the back of the building to enter to go up and walk all the way back down the hall to my room. The hotel is adequate for a short stay in Columbia. It's a bit dated, but the air ran cool, the shower had hot water and good pressure, and the room was clean. It could use some updating, but for the price and location near campus it served its purpose.

This is a fairly good motel for the price. It was clean enough, with adequate amenities. The continental breakfast was a bit weak. Sometimes the desk clerk was busy elsewhere, and customers had to wait at the front tesk a few minutes for service. Overall... pretty good.

The evening clerk was very cordial and the room much more spacious than anticipated. Basically clean and comfortable. Online info and sign on the hotel property tout the availability of a hot tub, but it was in disrepair. I did not appreciate that. Breakfast area needs more attention during breakfast hours....could be much neater and organized.

I thought this hotel was kept up nicely. For a 3 star hotel I was hesitant and was considering going to a nicer hotel for my friends' wedding, but this one was half the price. We got a king size bed room and we were very satisfied when we first got there. The hall ways have chair rails, inside the room there is dark wood furniture, the bed's comforter […] was modern.
