Stormont Hotel - Belfast

I stayed 6 nights in November 2012. Staff in the bar, restaurants, reception were friendly, welcoming, accommodating and helpful. Hotel was an excellent, very spacious place with conference facilities, lounge with open fire, and bar, as well as a good restauant. Huge car park. Bus to city is close to the hotel; it was easy to find my way around the […] city from the bus. Hotel is very close to George Best Airport, and, of course, across the road from Stormont. My room was large, had everything I needed and was comfortable. An ATM machine in the hotel would be useful as I arrived from an overseas flight with no cash to pay cab driver who did not take credit cards and the hotel would not give me cash. I will certainly stay there if I go back to Belfast, and higlhy recommend the Stormont to others . Read more

The hotel was very nice, but offered no transport into the city nor between it's siste property, the Europa. Spent more on taxis to and from the downtown than we would have liked.

The hotel was very lovely, clean, roomy and comfortable. It is quite far from any shops etc. but we don't mind a long walk so it wasn't too much of an issue. We don't utilize housekeeping and ran out of in room coffee. We went to the front desk to get more and were charged £2 for the tiniest cup of coffee I've ever held. We had to pay £30 just to have […] wifi. I would think such a nice hotel would provide these things. Over all the hotel is very nice and I would recommend a stay if you don't mind the extra costs and long walks. Read more

The room prices were very reasonable, but dinner, and drinks made up for that. We weren't used to everything closing early, and for the price of dinner there were a few wrong items and what not. The hotel staff was very help, and went out of their way to help us find food after everything was closed.

Having been on the go since 4am, I was wakened at 23.45 with voices talking loudly outside my room. Someone couldn't get access to their room and a few staff were trying to get the door open. Their voices were very loud with talk and laughter , and this went on for at least 20 minutes until after midnight. In the morning I received an alarm call that […] I hadn't asked for, 30 minutes before I was due to get up. I had been disappointed by the cleanliness of the pillowcases and asked the chambermaid the next morning to change them which she duly did. The second night things were back to normal. I have now stayed at The Stormont several times on busines 5 nights at a time. This time I did have a problem with my room but this was sorted very promptly by the very helpfull reception staff. I did eat in La Scala for the first time on this particular visit and realised what great food I had been missing over previous trips and I thought the pricing […] very good value, unlike the breakfast cost of nearly £17 which I think is overpriced. The only other issue is the cost of Internet access. A bit prohibitive for the business traveller at £10 per day. Went for a break and a rest with my pregnant wife, there was constant drilling right over our room all the day we arrived and we awoke to it again at 8.30 the next morning so did not get much rest!!!.

From Reception through to Dining Room service was excellent. Minor plumbing issue in bathroom. Extremely comfortable with live musical entertainment (pianist to accompany afternoon tea and a singing duo in the evening. (Saturday)

Perfect hotel for my visit to Stormont as it is only 10 minutes (by taxi) from the airport and a twenty minute walk from the parliament buildings. The hotel is clean and modern. TV with most UK digital channels. The bathroom didn't have a bath, but did have a shower with the choice of a rain effect shower head or a jet. Staff were helpful and had […] a taxi booked for me to get back to the airport when i needed it. The only negative was some building work that was taking place in the hotel (right above my room). The one issue that I had during this stay was that the room heating was turned off, centrally, during the day, and having to do some work one afternoon in my room, it was quite cold. The bedrooms are a good size and well fitted out. The breakfast was not included and is expensive (£13/£16) so I did not try it. Wifi is also expensive and this is a big negative. Exercise room is quite good.

Lovely hotel, decked out for Christmas with beautiful trees and reindeers. Welcomed by a lovely little duck in the bathroom, superking bed was very comfortable. Bushmills whisky offered with porrige at breakfast and also guinness bread with home made marmalade and jam.

The first impression was of a lovely entrance, with pleasant staff. However, the staff were not helpful - no-one asked if we might like help with our luggage - the firls were barely smiling, certainly not welcoming. The room was OK, but the bathroom badly needed updating (paper coming off the wall, the basin plug/drain- away was disfunctional, cover […] on the toilet lid hinge was missing). We had to ask for one of the bedside lights to be replaced (the bulb) as it was not working - surely this should be noticed by the housekeeping staff ? The reception are was very nice and the people behind reception very helpful. The young man behind da bar was very hard to get as he was always over at reception so you were left waiting to order drinks. Hotel is beautiful, the room was comfortable - dissapointed that the surfaces was very dusty, I advised them at reception when I checked out and they was not at all bothered, they was more intrested in receiving my payment for the late check out. We was advised that we was on the exempt list for breakfast - which costs £16, we found a fantastic cafe in the city centre that done a fantastic ulster fry for £5.95, so they done us a favour. I had a booked a single room with shower on fantastic deal but I really wanted a bath, so on arrival I asked the receptionist if there was a bath in my room, she said No, but she would check the computer and gave me a free upgrade to a large room with bath and shower and the best and biggest bed I have ever had. I stayed here to attend an event in the odyssey. I got a taxi from the hotel to the odyssey and it only cost £6.60 which I considered good. The hotel was very nice and opposite the gates of storment. The hotel was ok, however one of the reviewers mentioned that the walls were paper thin and I have to agree, the corridor was very noisy and you could hear a lot of adjacent room noise. We both really enjoyed our stay in the Stormont hotel and we would definitely stay there again. The staff were always willing to help out in any way. Nice bar, food in the restaurant was lovely and there's secure car parking. Only small grievance would be that the room was a tad warm at night.

Stayed on business for 4 nights recently in a Superior Double and the bed was the most comfortable ever. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Did not use the restaurants or La Scala as I thought these were quite expensive. Only negatives were the the room could have done with Aircon and the Wi-Fi was expensive.

The server didn't have a clue about the menu and when I asked what the beans were for dinner, I was told I could get the same ones in Tesco's.
