I picked this hotel because it was the closest to where I was working in Modesto and the price was good. I read reviews about the hotel clerk advising not to leave valuables in the cars. I overlooked those comments since I grew up in Queens, NY and thought it couldn't be that bad. Upon arrival, hotel staff member advises about the valuables. The hotel staff member was telling me about the complimentary breakfast, when I state to her that I will not be in the hotel for long since I am working early in the morning (1 night work trip). A guy sitting in the registration lobby (noticed him when I walked in-seedy look) hears me and states that he needs a room also, and would I be willing to split the room with him. WOW!!!! i was very happy with Days Inn Modesto but i have to rated lower than i could have because i found a left-over-chewed-gum on an alarm clock, YUCK! Thank God that i always carry sanitizer wipes and wipe down almost everything i am going to touch or sit.

Love the room, very clean, but bring your owl pillow. The location is convenient, 2 min to grocery store, lots of restaurants around, 5 min to downtown ...staff was so helpful and sweet. I would come back if I go back to modesto.

Considering the cost, it's OK. They put an $80 hold on my credit card as a damage deposit, have never seen that before. According to the front desk, it takes a few days for the $80 to be refunded to the card after checking out.

When our third prepaid reservation arrived an additional deposit was required that was not mentioned during the reservations process and delaying my ability to return home after the funeral. I wish there were more verity for the continual breakfast, I will say the room was neat clean and service from the maintance personal to the service counter were very helpful. The one complaint I do have is the sink drain stopper needs be attended too.

Booked the executive king room (For the same rate as regular king) and found it to be mostly a standard room with slightly nicer furniture. Would have loved to have TCM (Turner Classic Movies) on the cable selection.

Computerized key did not work at building entrance closest to our room. Had to have key re-programmed second day of stay. Wall separating hotel grounds from local neighborhood had razor wire on top-couldn't leave ANY personal items in car at all. 5 day wait for refund of security deposit much too long.

I thought the hotel was just perfect for our stay, and near to where we needed to be. I was a little concerned at first as the nearby road was a major thoroughfare, and busy, but we weren't distrubed by the noise at all. Hotel staff made a point of giving us the pool view room on the ground floor which was great. Room looked like it had been recently […] renovated, and I liked the decor, though the bathroom was a little sparse. Safe wouldn't open but we managed without! Girls at front desk were awesome - courteous, friendly and personable. My only two suggestions would be surveillance cameras installed - we witnessed locals stealing ice from the ice machine near our room - and a heater for the pool (water was REALLY cold). Room is clean, all was nice. It even have microwave, safe and a fridge which often not present in hotels of such category. The biggest disappointment was the sound insulation. At 5AM I was woke up by people speaking in distance part of corridor. Walls and the door are kind of made from paper and do not provide enough sound insulation. I came to Modesto because I wanted to take my family to a mini-vacation to visit yosemite nnational park, the San Francisco area and other interesting sites, and modesto qualified as a middle point. i would definitely come back to this hotel, no complains about it. We were placed in a section of the motel with groups of young adults. These young adults proceeded to party until 1:30 in the morning. If groups are scheduled wouldn't it be best to place them together so as not to disturb individual guests who are not associated with the group? In addition, our building did not have a vending machine. I had to go hunt […] for it. The reason was due to the fact that the machines in the back building had been vandalized. So rather than address that issue, as a guest, I had to leave the building and go look for one. Turns out the machines only exist in two buildings close to the office. However, I felt uncomfortable, as a lone female, going into the alcove where they were. Lastly, the night we were there, the person on the desk could not leave because he was the only one on duty. This is my second stay here. The staff is all really nice and helpful. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The only issue I have is that the keys sometimes stop working and you have to go ask for them to be scanned again. I believe that we had an issue with the bed coming off the frame, but that was fixed pretty easily with some minor adjusting - but, once it happens, you wait for it to happen again. For the price this is a good choice. It's location is practical being that it is on central avenue of Modesto. Hotel is in decent condition, staff is very helpful. Included breakfast is not something you want to rely on, very basic.
